  • I like how at the end, the guy says Thus Always to Tyrants in... what... latin? Isn't that what John Wilkes Booth said before he put a hole in Lincoln's head? Good interview series. The sic semper tyrannus threw me off though. It's very curious that he said that....

  • I got I.D. checked on my own property and hated that situation. Me and my family own the building, but I kept that silent as a trump card...I am glad to know in the future if a cop rudely pulls his car on the side walk and tries to ID me for no reason, I will object 100% kindly, and will ask if I am being detained and what crime am I under investigation over. Thank You for the videos!!

  • if the cops ask to search your vehicle, house, effects, etc. always say "I do not consent to any searches" and if the police say they have a warrant ask for it and look for the expiration date, or the issue date and the duration that the warrant is legal and make sure that the warrant is for a search on you. don't waive the right, right away when the police flash they're warrant at you. with that last part if the police ask to search you, move you finger across the line. the first has been taken

  • I think it would be great if you guys included info on audio/video police interactions in one of your next projects. Thanks.

  • you should put these vids more out to the public

  • Fuck the police.they are fucking liars

  • These guys are fucking great

  • I was up at the courthouse/police station in arlington,va doing a picture of the police dept logo and an officer confronts me, wants my ID i refuse, he actually says i'm free to go then as i leave he changes his mind, i only come back cause i figure maybe he's gonna tell me something important, he demands my ID again and suddenly 3 more officers show up and surround me which is the only reason i surrender my ID, the last thing i need is to be jumped with camera gear by 4 cops...

  • by 4 cops who will later get together and come up with a story that i physically assaulted the first cop so the other 3 came to rescue him or some BS story they'd all "witness" and "testify" to.. when you have 4 cops surounding you for no reason sometimes your actually living safety can be more important, and it took me forever for a good time to reach for my little video camera cause i'm not reaching for something and getting shot by 4 cops...

  • Martha Stewart insulted the investigators in published articles. Her lawyers advised her to say nothing, but she thought she was too smart to get it wrong.

  • if ur not a blackchild lol 4:20 4:25

  • You're no better off talking to an attorney either because attorney's are officers of the court. One must learn how to defend one's self. Simply say: I DO NOT CONSENT. Period. Do not talk to cops. Nothing. No name. No date of birth. Without you volunteering this information they have to release you. You just have to be willing to sit in a cell and not crack. Usually it will be within 24 hours. You have to "volunteer" the info they use against you.

  • It's too bad that I found this video now, and not 3 weeks ago. At school I was cought with a perscription drug. 1st time. Im and Eagle scout, ect...and they are dragging me through the rings. They tricked me into talking, and telling about other people...man i think police are lying sob's

  • think back on every time you judged someone who everyone said was part of the bad crowd or the bad kids now - imagine that all this had gotten attacked to your name at age 13 or 14 and followed you through HS.

IIRC you can invent merit badges, maybe you should have your troop do one on the 4th amend.

  • commonsense

  • Most people dont have common sense when talking to cops. "Common Sense" might not be as common as you think.

  • stop snitchin

  • Are you lawyer? Got a question couldnt you just say( i will not give up my bill of rights.) I have seen those videos of cops asking questions and such like what are you doing while in park just say my line i will not give up my bill of rights.?

  • thank you guy, I needed to know rights.

  • nothing makes me more pissed when you are punished for your honesty, not lying about my excuse to miss school I am threatened loss of credit when I could of easily lied and I know of others lie, its a system that encourages people to lie, i take pried in telling the truth and not cheating and following the rules but when i not punished for doing so I do not know how much longer I can keep these values

  • attorneys "attorn" (turn your property over to the state) they do not follow law or protect your rights. lawyers are there to get more money for other lawyers and make deals with them on your behalf. by consenting to a lawyer, you have claimed yourself, are a ward of the court and unable to speak for yourself, and therefore a self confirmed imbecile

not to be disrespectful, although we all need help, DO NOT, CONSENT TO THIRD PARTY INTERVENERS! Learn your rights and stand up for yourself!

  • If a legal representative fails to defend you negligently or maliciously, they can be sued for malpractice, sanctioned or even disbarred by their bar association for unprofessional conduct.

Why are you basing the current practice of all lawyers on the loud and obnoxious 5% who are in it for their own gain alone?

  • where do you get your 5% statistic? prove it,.... there are almost 1/2 million bar attorneys in the US

  • thank you

  • Look- you guys are OK- when I went to the Police Academy the first thing out of the their mouths about Constitutional rights:

"ARTICULATION" I had to resign...to much B.S. I felt I had to do some things that just did not sit well with me!!!

  • I dont derive my rights from the Constitution, My rights are UNALIENABLE FROM GOD, the CONstitution is suppose to protect them, (and the inalienable ones too) but does not GIVE me rights, why do you think the courts shut people up when they even bring up the Constitution? Jurisdiction in ALL courts is DC, a 10 by 10 mile district and NONE of them have jurisdiction over a sovereign free individual... unless you have unwittingly consented to being a 14th amendment "subject

  • I had a rookie noob border officer at the detroit border ask me..."have you ever done anything wrong?". after asking her back several times "what exactly do you need to know?" she got increasingly agressive untill I answered "At this time I am not under conviction and currently there are no warrents for my arrest". They had my semi truck turned inside out and were shitty with me in the port office. One guy said "think your a commedian" I said "nope, check my record and be more professional."

  • I was taught to be respectful to officers BUT to be aware and watch your back when pulled over!

  • I was arrested October, 1 2008 for $5 worth of marijuana. The dealer I bought from was working with the police. They pulled me over right after the buy and searched me and took my to the police station. The police officer was trying to get me to set up 2 drug dealers I knew and he claimed he would help me out. I didn't say ANYTHING from the second he pulled me over. It is best not to talk to police.

  • Some police officers like to assume that you are stupid and that you are completely unaware of your legal , or even moral rights.

Like you were born yesterday. (Stereotype)

But , they forget that most of the smarter amongst us don't care that they date other women or have extra marital sex with multiple partners , those sorts of things. That a full blown cop can be a murderer or whatever. So , they need to find a life , before they destroy someone elses with their own attitude and mistakes.

  • Life is so simple, but we insist on making it complicated

  • In my experience, the police indeed are god damned liars. These guys are spot on.

  • you guys have a good video, but at 7:50, cops in small towns CAN do anything they want regardless of law. in small towns the laws are bent extremely by mere police opinion... and when it comes to searching they will lie everytime and say they wanna help bla bla bla and the next thing you know they find a can of airfeshner and ask you if you've been using it as directed. the police are good in some cases but to put it simply, a suspect is guilty until proven innocent in court and thats days away

  • Google: Sam's Club 6625+FBI

  • So the advice here is "If you are honest, it can only hurt you." Be sure to teach your children that. Its no wonder you people have a problem with authority.

  • Yes, it can, because the state will try prove their case against you. Have you ever known any cases that the state wanted to lose, because the person might have been innocent?

You're statements can be taken in or used in directions, and probably something different from what you said and what acutally happened.

We've been told the mantras - the law is your friend always tell the truth innocent until proven guilty

Since you are being charged - aren't you guilty in a way

  • your fucking stupid

  • Yeap, thats why your kids will need this advice; because you are ignorant and your input is useless. Way to let the world know you are an idiot. Funny though, the guy who can't type a complete sentence is calling me stupid.

    Thanks for the attention.

  • na your input is useless and your a idiot

  • Comment removed

  • Before calling someone stupid, you should take some lessons on the English language and forming a correctly spelled sentence.

  • trinidaddi you loser retard go kill yourself homo

  • I learned a little trick for a couple of people I know who are now police officers. You can exploit the reluctance of officers to hassle or arrest one of their "own" by having a book on criminal justice in eyes view if you get pulled over. My friends relayed the fact that when they got pulled over while in college and the officer saw the book and asked them if they were going to police officers, that the officers next words were "have a nice day".

  • Rule 1: Don't lie.

    Rule 2: Don't talk.

The police want to protect themselves and bring people who may have committed a crime to court.

  • i only watched about 3/4 of the movie but i think i know what part you're talking about and i think you need to pay more attention. They never say to lie to the cops, they tell you to just not tell the truth by not saying anything at all. By not saying anything you can not incriminate yourself nor can you get in trouble by not saying anything. So don't them the moron when you don't even pay attention to what they are saying.

  • I hate to lower myself, but there is no need to make personal attacks and say I am spreading rumors, Obviously Hippyhunterkj has been lucky with his law enforcement encounters, if any, Hippyhunterkj, you sound like a spoiled brat (trust in the justice system) or a fucking cop. Im not saying comply, all im saying is if your holding & you get pulled over, you have to pick your battles. COPS WILL LIE FOR EACH OTHER IN COURT, I was told this by my defense attorney when i got maced while in cuffs!

  • Don't give lectures on 'personal attacks' then spend 2 pages making ad hominem attacks. You are a good example of a person with no legal training spreading popular rumors about the justice system. I wouldn't call myself lucky, I would call myself prepared. Its funny how that works. When the cops pull me over I don't give them an inch. This cannot be said of my youth where I had lots of trouble with the police.

You better get smart son, if you smoke weed you need to know your rights.

  • Yeah but for myth 8, (the ID one)

is there any other way to refuse other than saying "am i free to go"? should you just say "no" or say "i am not obligated to show you my ID" please respond

  • I think Greyface is an excellent example of how people spread rumors that actually hurt people when they deal with the cops; he eliminates hope and belief in the system so suspects will just comply with what the officers are telling them. You need to exert your rights, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE GUILTY!!!!!!!!!

  • Juries are questioned by the attorney's, not the judge. It doesn't matter if the jury knows about nullification, in fact there is no reason to believe that the jury would nullify a law simply because they knew they could. The Voir Dire process (the legal term for jury selection) is highly structured, each attorney gets a number of challenges (where they remove a juror) but not enough to challenge the entire jury. Your attorney gets them as well; the idea is to have a balanced jury.

  • Fact #1: most jurors dont know about jury nullification. Fact#2: the prosecuting lawyer will dismiss potential jurors for knowing their right to nullify. Fact#3: the ratio of poor people in jail for drugs far outnumbers middle and upper class, yet just as many (some studies show more) drugs are consumed in these social classes.

Opinion #1:Fair and balanced my ass

Opinion #2: HippyHunterkj doesnt want people who know their rights to be on the jury table, just getting arrested.

  • Fact #1: It doesn't matter if a juror knows about jury nullification. That has nothing do do with anything.

Fact #2: The prosecutor is supposed to do that, if he didn't he would lose his job.

Fact #3: Poor people don't exert their rights, people with more money (and better educations) do. Period.

What does "rights on the jury table" mean?

  • reply -1- the statistical fact plays into fact#2 to have everything to do with something

reply -2- who tells him he is supposed to do that, and why? if you learn the answers, you'll notice they're unfair and unbalanced reasons.

reply -3- that is a temporary truth. no 'period' about it, except that there will be another period of time when money/education make no difference it how people exert their rights. and it should be so; even, it should eventually be that police make no distinction, equal.

  • The problem is you never know when a cop turns on you. I have a new circular bumper sticker on my scion XB it is very small it says "professional relaxer" it is a statement about my tent hammock. A profiler will pull me over and I am quickly on my way once they realize that it isn't a sticker claiming I support the police or I am religious or DARE. That is a shame we should be free to tag our cars not having to worry about cops. I am a professional trucker 20 years I know how to drive!

  • In small towns, in "known drug zones" the cops WILL search you if they want, and the cops know the judges personaly, so your rights are hard to hold up even in court. People are forced to take a plea bargin, jury trials are risky with the way jurors are selected, judges ask them if they know their right to nullify (consider the law itself unjust), if you do, you do not get selected.

  • Greyface: please stop spreading rumors. The police and judges have no reason for knowing each other, they cannot force you into a plea bargain, and the cops CANNOT search you (even if they want to), and that isn't the jury process.

Before you go to trial there is a pre-trial hearing before a magistrate to deteriming if the evidence against you is sufficient. If the magistrate sees that you denied the search, and there was no probable cause, they will throw out the evidence; you will go free.

  • You should watch Barry Coopers: Never Get Busted, he was an ex-narc investigator turned good, and he explains in detail how they WILL search your car, and have it hold up in court. Everytime someone refuses a search, a call goes out to all the cops in the area "we have a refusal, then they bring in the dogs and give false dog alerts. I am not spreading rumors, these are facts, and you need to wake up to the real world, not just what is written on the books.

  • HippyHunterkj: stop lying, im not spreading rumors, i actually live in a small town where a judges son is actually a defense attorney, most of the cops grew up together, just like the prosecuting/defense lawyers and judges. What do you mean "the have no reason to know each other", there is only 1 college in this town to become a lawyer, judge or investigator, how could they NOT know each other. You must be able to afford a very good attorney, and you are also naive.

  • Thats good that you live in a small town, they are more likely to uphold your rights there.

I'm not sure if you know this but a judge cannot sit on his son's trial. If the witnesses and the judge are best friends, the judge has to recuse himself. If the judge knows the jurors, they will either dismiss the juror or the judge will recuse himself. A relationship between a cop and the prosecutor would be pure gold for the defense.

I'm dying to know what college they have in your small town.

  • i need your help bad this world it going down hill fast but people like you make it better i have had the poilce bust down my door radie my house left and did not charg me and broke all my shit i dont know what to do they cant do that can they help me please

  • Most likely if they raided your house, they had a warrant i would imagine if you didn't go to court for this you can probably make a settlement if u take them to court on a resolution to the property damage.

  • OMG these two guys are absolutely awesome!

  • I wish there was a british version of this.

  • I know what you mean about the show COPs, I constantly find myself yelling at the tv when suspects repeatedly waive their rights. I've had family members say, well if you have nothing to hide why not consent to a search. Its disturbing how many people are unaware of their rights when dealing with the authorities.

  • If you're a law-abiding citizen, please do assert your constitutional rights against tyrannical police behaviour. However, if you're a law breaker, please don't, because, if you do, the courts/legislatures will eventually use you as an excuse to take away these rights for all of us.

I know that this might sound strange, but please take my word for it, for the sake of freedom.

  • stop talking . thank you so much you r great

  • I'm greatly impressed by the intelligent argumentation, that by insisting on your constitutional rights as a citizen, you directly promote efficiency in the justice system also, through blocking unwarranted searches and illegal 'fishing' expeditions, while -more importantly- in a personal level, you resist the country to deteriorate into a police state.

  • What about a bumper sticker that says "I don't consent to searches". Is that a good idea?

  • Not necessarily. On one level, it would help illustrate your firm unwillingness to waive your rights. Police would be unlikely to claim that you consented to a search if you had this bumper sticker on your car.

But I would be concerned that a "bad apple" officer might take offense and target you.

  • Great Job. Great Advice. I'm an attorney and this is so true.

  • you guys are the best....

  • you guys r0ck keep makin' 'em.
