  • love the intro

  • 777 likes (gods nuber) 6 dislikes (devils number) whata coincidence

  • Theres no single artist that can be blamed for the death of hip hop most you people dont understand it, even nas admitted to being guilty. When nas says hip hop is dead he means the old school real shit is gone and thats because styles change people got sick of it and so artists had to make a new style to be successful. People rap these days about sex parties and drugs because thats mainstream and thats whats in now theres plenty of real hard rappers out there but no1 gives them attention

  • @SPARKupKUZ point well made, i would say the death of hip hop is more because of us, the fans, than the artists themselves. because without fans there arent any artists and no music

  • @RHoles1 true true

  • @SPARKupKUZ what do you mean "you people"

  • "I just thought of that while sitting here ashing in this ashtray"

  • The Jews use the Black man to sell drugs. Maybe you get your weed from Big Mike, and he gets it from Lamar in the city, and he gets it from Pookie in Cali, but if you keep tracing that shit to the grow operation it came from the names on the lease will be Stern or Berg!!! Use your heads black men. Happy Black History Month!!!!!!

  • @cuntingham54 i highly doubt its only Jews running shit in the background. Black people like you are truly misinformed and brainwashed. I know it's not your fault though, but rather your equally brainwashed, reverse-racist mother spewing anti white/jewish non-sense to you while growing up. It happens all over the place and is one of several factors causing white/black tension.

  • @Claymore224 Naw you got it all twisited you hoe ass kid!!! Im actually Latino and the real tension between black and white is little ignent mothafuckas like you faking like you got some wisdom cause you got The Wire memorized or seen Scarface too many times!! The Jews run the show nagga!!! And if you are black doing any drugs you are helping them out!!! Run Tel Dat to Stringer Bell nigga!!!

  • i really wanna smoke a blunt

  • once your in nas no going back and TBH every nas song is a blunt song

  • SAM COOK AND BOBBY WOMACK WAS FRIENDS. WOMACK MARRIED HIS GIRL 4 MONTHS AFTER HE PASSED AWAY. ONLY NAS CAN BRING SHIT LIKE THAT TO LIFE.

  • Donny Hathaway free fall from a balcony...Harold Washington...Nas goes over so many people head in this song--I suggest looking these peculiar cases up in order to get the full effect. This song mad deep. Nas was that man.

  • is this produced by chris webby???

  • @bookzyman12 chris webber the basketball player

  • @bookzyman12 no bro, Chris Webber, former NBA Star

  • Best Fuckin Lyricsts ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • NAS IS DA GREATEST!!!!

  • I dont like Wayne but yall fucked up... what about Nas makes you think of Wayne?

Some of yall got issues i dont like them, just don't listen to those wack artists, not obsess

  • @MrCT9 thats what im sayin lol i cant go on an old school video without somebody sayin shit like "FUCK LIL WAYNE AND JUSTIN BIEBER" like wtf thats so irrelevant

  • @jcharity77 lol how is that dope cause he made a punchline, rap to me is the ability to tell stories and to articulate your wordplay and thats why BIGGIE PAC NAS JAY-Z BIG L AND EMINEM ARE RAPS KINGS 4EVER !!! theres obvi more but these guys are on another level

  • lil Wayne some shit but that verse on im on one is Craaazy!" OOOOh im about to go Andre the Giant/ You a sellout but i ain't buying" .I hate Wayne as much as the next real rap/hip-hop afficianado but slim get sick with it when he wants to.

  • rap was good in the 90s

  • @ripwoodydawg

    this is from the 2000s

  • @ripwoodydawg Yea this ain't 90s at ALL! But NAS still get down with the hip hop, people say blah blah like they know where the definite brightline between hiphop and cRAP is but they honestly do NOT know what they are talking about. Yet NAS just speaks from his soul like the countless of other artists he is inspired by (see his song Where are they now) and you just know its hip hop.

  • Hello lil wayne. I want to play a game. Throughout the years you have soiled the meaning of real hip hop . There will be consequences. The device attached to your abdomen will trigger in 75 seconds, sending a metal bar up your ass. Your chances at surviving is the key located in your ashophogus, inside your lungs, the very lungs that have soiled the ears of the innocent. How much blood will you sacrifice to continue your life? The choice is yours. Let the game begin

  • @vivaguatemala4123456 lame...we all know that wayne would be unaffected by a "trap" like that (be it a jigsaw trap or a shemale trap...)

  • @hiphoplivesthrume Hell naw!Lol!

  • @vivaguatemala4123456 HAHAHAHA, Though nas makes songs with Lil wayne :/

  • @vivaguatemala4123456

Don't forget all of Young Money and these rappers about 'swag'

  • @vivaguatemala4123456 Hell naw!Lol!

  • @vivaguatemala4123456

That movie is gay, Lil Wayne is gayer, but you're the gayest for making such a comment

  • @azurescens420 werd cacaucasin sadism sick sick sick

  • @azurescens420 only time blood shud ever be spilt is with unrepentent sinners and death is enough why tourture ppl we are not god

  • @vivaguatemala4123456 ur fucking stupid.. what does lil wayne have to do with anything about this song.. ignorant fuck

  • @vivaguatemala4123456 esophagus*

  • @vivaguatemala4123456 Very GAY

  • @vivaguatemala4123456 If only....

  • so sick

  • nasty nas! you lame ass posers

  • As a hardcore metal head with some hip hop interest I have to fuckin' say legit as fuck.

  • @FueledByPureHatred

No one gives a shit what kind of music you like, asshole

  • @azurescens420 and he DIDN'T ask you to get on his nuts, but you did he just showing respect to one of the greats of hip hop embrace that considering where the fuck the game has done turned too SMDH GROW UP AND QUIT TRYING TO START YOUTUBE FIGHTS

  • @FueledByPureHatred i really hate it when people say things like that, just reminds me of how narrow minded society still really is. why should it matter if you're a metal head?

  • "man...you know they was strong back then man" ~ Track Summary

  • metal heads for nas

  • this song give me chills. i like the intro alot. this guy is a legend

  • one of the deepest songs i have ever heard props to Nas

  • ya heard when he lit the blunt and inhaled it ? lol well now we see where wayne got it from

  • Classic song

  • is Chris Webber a better producer or basketball player? The debate begins...

  • Buy Blunt Ashes on iTunes.

  • as the blunt ash falls into the ash tray, i could see my whole life fly past me.. DID I KEEP IT GANGSTA OR KEEP IT CLASSY!

    .....

    .....fuckin epic track!

  • Chris Webber should keep producing!

  • that story nas tells in the beginning, can that actually be done?? everytime i hear the intro, it brings a tear. thats some heartfelt shit.

  • Attention Nas fans Listen up

On September 14th we gotta all watch "Nas Is Like" in honor of Nasir Olu Dara Jones' Birthday, We gotta give him the respect he needs and give him the highest viewed video on YouTube!! Let's give him what he deserves and what these fake ass motherfuckas (any rapper on the radio) don't deserve to have

Copy and paste to all Nas' videos and all music videos let's get this shit noticed.

Thumbs this up so people could see

  • 4 people roll with blunt raps

nikka we crack and roll phillies

  • not bad. only 4 cunt grunts disliked this video

  • nas' music brings me back

  • 4 people got blunt ashes in their tea! Urghhh!!!

  • @eazyroger one why would they be scared.... first of all its just a term used to relate to another black person and secondly white peoplee cant use it for a reason because of the intention behind it sooo yeah thats why you cant go round screaming nigger

  • One of the best lyricist that ever lived!!! Props to my nigga Nas. This one of the best songs, deserves more views!!

  • @djdough74 Why do you people need to call each other "Nigga" all the time? I am sure people have names.

  • @123doomdoom Yeah kinda weird , black ppl get scared or angry when white ppl call them 'niggas' but they call each other nigga all the time. weird

  • the truth!!!!

  • DAVID RUFFIN WAS PUNCHING TAMMI TERRELL GAVE HER CONCUSSIONS. SO FUCKEN TRUE.

  • Play the album "illmatic" for your friends, let them witness how fresh Nas was in 1994 (and still is), as he weaves effortlessly through some of the most intricate rhyme schemes you'll ever hear. Play "It aint hard to tell", then play the song "Disciple" from 2004 to see how lyrically untouchable he was even after 10 years.

  • why is Nas so good? It takes alot of thought to come up with the stuff that he does, jeez, he should write a book or something.

  • C-Webb has skills!!!

  • top five dead or alive

When Flo from the Surpremes died, Diana Ross cried

Many people said that she was laughin' inside - damn

  • @poetmm i dont get that line can u explain it to me plez???

  • @nastyNAS668 I'll explain it to you. At Motown Records, Berry Gordy was the svengali to The Supremes. Though Florence was clearly the stronger singer, Berry pushed Diana to the forefront and had her singing lead on all the songs. It was also known that he favored Diana and was sleeping with her, and basically pushed Florence out of the picture. When the 70's rolled around, she was on welfare. She died penniless in 1976, and the rumor was Diana Ross was amused by her decline and eventual death.

  • That Diana Ross line always give me chills... nas the fuckin best

  • GET OFF HIS NUTS!!!!!!! KISSIN ASS TOO MUCH!!

  • people buy his albums instead of listenin to his shit on youtube ... coz Nas is the best and its worth spending money on his albums

  • @bonez54 no rappers worth giving money to the man!

  • @bonez54 as you're commenting on a song of his on youtube clearly listening to it...not saying people shouldn't buy his albums its just hypocritical

  • @foundation551 HAHAHAHAHAH TRUEE

  • @bonez54 All my Nas albums are scratched from bumpin' 'em too much. :(

  • @bonez54 Word is bond son. I just bought Illmatic like 2 months ago

  • @bonez54

I already bought his album you pussy

  • i actually copped this album, been coppin 'em since stillmatic

  • classic!

  • have to do mad research after listening to this!!

  • this song is great lyrically but not musically, it was poorly composed, just wat's goin into your ears is not very pleasant. but i can't forget nas is my all time favorite mc

  • @syddiallo I actually liked the instrumentals.

  • Respect. So good.

  • Nas is the most underrated, unheard of rapper. None of my friends even respect Nas. When he has been spittin fire and flows for years.

  • @Kushinatoor ur friends are fools....madd people kno nas...

  • and i was on i can vid by nas and someone said in the comments that apparently black people sold black people as slaves so i was like ok so even if they did, slave OWNERS are the ones he treated them so horribly . that's disgusting no one human should be 'owned' anyways. but it sounded to me like a racist prick deflecting blame to one side

  • @BurninColours EXACTLY i completely agree he's much more than a mc he's one of the all time greats of all genres man this intro is a testament to nas aristry and uniqueness, and the intro to it was written is my favorite intro ever , i just try to imagine my self in a black mans shoes in those times. i looked at actual pics of people like nasirs back on untitled and i wanted to cry and throw up i'm white and we treated people of any colour heniously and inhumanely. im honestly almost ashamed

  • I play this for my fallin' niggas

  • I'm not even going to click the like button cuz I want it to stay at 420 : )

  • 420 people flickin blunt ashes.

  • ima get blazed befo i tell yall stories.........

    ye....

    THE MAKING OF MAN....

  • what is the message even mentions late great Phyllis Hyman?

  • @foncelia1 "Mistakes of the greats, this is what came from their pain from their hurt we gain, an unfair exchange" basically you don't have to make the mistake to learn from it, just learn from the next man's mistakes

  • YOUR THE MAN

  • ya dont no wat rap is ya dat listen to waka flaka and think hes a beast ya dont no,but this....this is rap,dis rap is true

  • This is just iLL

  • Hip Hop is Dead, but the king still deserves to wear the crown.

  • nice ganja joint...

  • @MrNasillmatic Dude this is food for though...not some shitty weed song. Try to understand what he is saying...rather than burn your brains and bop your head to the beat.

  • nas deserves more views !!

  • @jakeyboia

Not only views. He deserves more respect more love and more attention. Sure everyone who got here would agree that.

  • Nas definetly kept it Gangstar and classy!!

  • All the people that Nas is talkin about did not die by coincidence. They were murdered by powerful people who disagreed with what these individuals were preaching to the masses. Donny Hathaway said he white people were trying to kill him and a few hours later he commits suicide, that's bullshit. He was murdered by our own government. Wake Up people!!!!!

  • the intro gives me chills....

"I saw on TV today, this man lost his son, his son died,

So he had him cremated, took his ashes, and then made it to a Diamond ring,

Now he watches his son shine everyday....

I just thought about that, while I sit here ashing in this ash tray"

  • This chorus gone play on my last day...

  • Produced by ex-NBA star Chris Webber... ill beat

  • "This man lost his son, his son died. So he had him cremated, took his ashes, and then made it to a Diamond ring. Now he watches his son shine everyday."

  • Nas is one of the few artist that thinks outside the box. I bet many people went back and researched these stories he's tellin...Great artist
