American Laser Center is known for McDonalds quality of service because it's a chain corp that attracts clients because of their cheap prices. I did my research about how laser works, payed $3000 for chest hair and neck area at reputable place. Never got burned, never got patchy results because touch-ups were included after each treatment. Most laser places don't know proper settings, time spacing and required skin - hair types. Your only solution at this point is electrolysis hair removal.
If handled improperly or done using a wrongly matched machine for your hair and skin type, lasers can cause skin discoloration. Therefore, it is vital to consult a qualified and experienced dermatologist before going in for the treatment.
This seems to be a short sighted and unfair opinion of laser treatments in general. I can agree that the images you're sharing wouldn't be desirable results, however those may not be typical either. Different technicians and different lasers can yield varying results yet you paint them all with one broad stroke of the same brush... I would talk to a few different technicians and do some serious research before I tried something like that...
@icoach73 I agree with you. I am a guy who had laser hair removal done on my entire face & had a 95% reduction in hair after 5 treatments & 5 touchups using Yag laser because i have darker skin type (i'm west indian). I have one more treatment & touch up to go. So far i'm completely pleased. I'm so sorry your laser hair removal experience turned out the way it did. I have a feeling your technician was inexperienced..
@icoach73 you're right. If handled improperly or done using a wrongly matched machine for your hair and skin type, lasers can cause skin discoloration. Therefore, it is vital to consult a qualified and experienced dermatologist before going in for the treatment.
My intent was to just have a reduction of the beard instead of coarse and thick beard. And have the neck of the beard removed but I noticed when I went for the clean look and shave you could see where I still kept my Beard and while the neck of the beard was gone. I didnt like that thought so I have stopped all of it on my face.
Well I have over a year in already on my chest, back, abdominal area. (After the first 3 months) I thought I hate shaving all the time so I thought I would shave my face into a goatee the way I like it and have him hit the rest. well I did this like 3 times then it grew back with reduction. Then I stopped that and had him continue to hit the neck of my beard about 3 more times. Then I had him hit my whole face. Goatee and all. This is what has grown back for me 2 to 3 months later.
My cheeks are grown back but reduction no patches on either side. My mustache grows back with a reduction no patches. Only thing that has grown back with patches is the neck of the beard. So I had stopped all work on my face I am letting it all grow back I rather shave cause my neck looks real Patchy and to keep from being noticed I have to shave it every day. I dont have the nerve to keep going though with having my beard lasered I am afraid it is gonna turn out worse then it already is.
You had a terrible experience with laser on your face. Why would you go and make the SAME MISTAKE on another body part. Sounds like your chest and abs are almost as dense as your beard. So you WILL end up with patches. Common, use your cerebral cortex. Stop thinking with the limbic (emotional center) of your brain! Go to Walmart and spend $20 on a hair trimmer. Once a month buzz that area to a short length. Presto, your problem is solved!
I have a question. When I was like 15 I was working out alot and I ended up shaving the hair off my chest (Big mistake) The hair grew back darker and more spreaded out everywhere cause I kept shaving it off since I already started it.My question is will laser removal work on my chest and abdominal ares? Any suggestions for me?
You need to work on your self image, self esteem, and self acceptance. Men have hair. On their face. On their bodies. It's considered attractive by most women. Problem was, you were so young and not used to it. It takes time to adjust to your new body during and after puberty. You probably developed earlier than your friends, too. So you felt awkward with so much hair. Plenty of sex symbols have hairy chests. It's not a bad thing! It's normal and human. Remember most women find it sexy!
My doc offered a free first treatment beard sculpting and mainly the upper throat area due to shaving bumps.. Im glad i watched this video now would much rather grow a full beard then sport the patchy brindled look.. thanks for the advice bud
wow damn this video is better than your other one. you should get more of these videos out..
perhaps can you do a video of your old patchiness and show us several day growth of your beard as it is now 2 years later.. I'm hanging out to see how much of a waste of money this is
in your patchiness video you look like you have 70% reduction in hair am i right? now show me what it is 2 years later bud i wanna know
Might have been as high as 80 percent right after my last touch up. It's silly to use percentages though! The non-uniformity of the hair loss is the real issue. What if I even got a 90 percent hair loss (which I didn't) but the remaining ten percent grew in bizarre streaks and splotches?! See what I'm getting at? Percentages is just a fool's term used to market to uneducated consumers.
I've had some regrowth over the last 2 years. Most notably around the chin and mustache area. A most hair was never actually gone. Just miniaturized by the treatment. A lot of it is continuing to get darker and thicker as time goes by.
Pic is 2 years old now. My beard isn't as patchy now. Thank god I've had regrowth which has blended the spots more. Also laser just made a lot of hairs really fine, but its temporary. They became thicker and darker again month by month which helps too.
All you need is more treatments. I had treatment with American Laser Centers 4 years ago and have no regrowth. Mine looked like yours mid treatment. Also, they were always so nice to me...Maybe you should do a little more research.
How many treatments did you have? Was it on your beard? Or another area? My research has been exhaustive. I've read every clinical study as well as manufacturer's white papers.
They told me it can't claim it to be 100% permanent because of treatment on, for example, backs on men, and upperlip and chins on females because hormone conditions can make dormant folicles to become active, and they can only treat folicles that are active. A guy doing his back when he is 25, He's going to have more hair come from dormant folicles once he's older. Look at your dad compared to you now. It only gets worse :(... I had 14 treatments and I'm caucasian with light brown hair.
@pinkstraw1 i"m so glad it worked out for you. It worked out for me too. I went to Romeo & Juliet in NYC and i'm 95% cleared after 5 treatments & 5 touchups on my entire face, i'm a guy by the way. I have one more treatment & touch up left to go and that should clear everything. Also i'm glad you lucked out on American Laser Centers because they are poorly rated.

Improper treatment can cause burns, lesions, skin discoloration lasting several months, or patchy/patterned regrowth.

no bikini and underarms.

Women's bikini and underarms are VERY different than a man's beard. So different in fact that they shouldn't be compared.

@Starsky5000
How much time does each treatment ( entire face) take?
I know you have 95% reduction after several treatments, but
about how much % reduction did you see after each treatment?
Is 30% reduction after 2 treatments realistic ?
Was numbing cream applied? How painful was it?
