Save your money and buy a new laptop that will be cheaper and better in the near future. It's stupid to put all that money in a laptop unless you are one of the best gamers.

Your logic worked 3-5 years ago when hardware advances for laptop were few and far in between. Desktops were more common. Now, laptops are making more profit and is in style, so power and graphics are keeping up with desktops. Laptop specs today are far better than even 1 year ago. If you pay a premium today, next year's will be more powerful and more features at half the cost. Better to not spend a lot now and buy new laptop in 2 years, saving money now and later. Think about it.

another thing, get gps or look at security companies for laptops that can track where your laptop is at incase its misplaces, lost or stolen. my apartment was robbed last week, lost everything.. would suck if you lost that, good investment..
