  • Hey Thanks. I gotta see what mine sounds like first. Might just have to buy an AC30. My wife would kill me.

  • I just bought a Ric 620/12. Can't wait to get it. Hope it sounds as good as yours.Your 660 has the toasters right?

  • @MrJacklips: Yes--Toasters. I've had a 620/12, and it's a very fine guitar. If you really want it to play like a dream, send it to "the Ricken-doctor," Mark Arnquist in Seattle. He worked at Rickenbacker back in the 60's. For $500 (incl. shipping), he performs 12 different enhancements to Rickenbacker 12's which really maximize the instrument's playability. Contact Mark at arnquist at comcast dot net. No--I don't profit from referrals--he just does fabulous work. Love mine.

  • Wow you nailed the classic Ric sound on the head. There's no compressor on this? Sounds great!

  • @MrJacklips: Thanks for the compliment. Actually, I was using the compression setting on my Boss ME-50 multi effects pedal...

  • I should have also asked, how about a list of the guitars you regret getting rid off?

I just sold my Epiphone Casino (with Bigsby) today - it wasn't vintage, just a late 90's Korean version - but I'm already missing it! But I need the money to pay for a new hand-built guitar which, given your taste, I'm sure you will be interested in - I'll send you some pics when finished.

  • @Rogerbyrd: Would love to see photos of the custom build. As far as a list of guitars I regret selling, it would probably include ever guitar I've ever sold...

  • Hi Modfather - that is a beautiful guitar and I seriously dig the old Volume/tone knobs! I do, however, prefer the both the sound and shape of the 360-12. I have a 1966 360-12 which is the 'guitar to get if there is a fire'!

I think you are right about the sound of the 660/12 - its more 'in your face' treble because of the solid body.

  • killier sound! great

  • @ellioteaston93: Thanks, man. Wish I still had the guitar...

  • Awesome!Love that sound, nicely done!

  • @ribs389: Thanks for the support.

  • fantastic guitar!!nice cover!!and the sound is amazing!!

  • Love the instrument, and the sound you produce from it!

  • @spacedoginnebraska: Thanks for the kind words.

  • Nice work!.. gotta love the Ric's.. I have sold my 76 & 80 4001's...maple & jet glo. but replaced them with a brand new midnight blue 4003.. never selling this one

  • Nice guitar... too bad you sold it, but you made someone else happy!

  • @pcpettyhead: Yeah... I opted for the C63 12 instead. Loved this one though--too bad I can't keep them all!

  • Ricks Rule I have a 1968 456/12 convertable fireglow sweet ax

  • It's crying out for heavier strings!!!!! Please stop and restring it!!!

  • @lukeman62: Sold the guitar a few years back. BTW: It was strung w/ Ric spec 12 string strings. The tone likely has to do with the compression, the top-end on the Vox, and the crappy digital camera I filmed this with...

  • Hey this is a different rickenbacker to the Eight days a Week one right?

  • @IsaacBassMaster: Good eye... This was on an '08 660/12 AFG, whereas the "8 days" was on an '06 660/12 FG. I've sold both... I really miss this one ('08 AFG is a glorious finish), but I got a new 360/12C63 with the monies, and have held on to it since.

  • @IsaacBassMaster this a gorgeous glow, my dad bought himself a 360 and I play it all the time, we all just looked at it when we took it out the box.

  • cool.

  • Lovely guitar and sounds class too!!!!!

  • sounds very cool, and all your guiatrs seem to be so custom, awsome video!
