im planning on buying an itouch soon and would like to hear opinions.
im a fan of the monster hunter series and would like to get this game. however i plan on getting infinity blade as well. is it worth getting both? this review seems to put dynamic hunting in a really bad light.
Looks awesome, hope it gets an Android version. This type of gameplay for this MH game is perfect for a touchscreen, it'll be easy for casual playing, since phones are best for casuals. A real MH game on a phone won't work too well at all, as the game will be too complex to use only touchscreen controls to do EVERYTHING.
@NecroTree Well the reason why capcom may have thought this up is because of the "small target market" in the US because, like the review stated, its less time consuming and its more a pick up and go, exactly what this generation is all about. Kids these days want something to fill that small time frame that is their attention span.... Still, I'd prefer a game that requires my skill to complete challenges, not how fast I can tap a screen....
@BankaiHalo at this point its not really iOS is getting damn close to a psp at least 1st gen or so.depending on what your talking about obviously. graphics and gameplay have been upped lately. check out upcoming games like shadowgun and people already know the quality of infinity blade. so its pretty much catchin up to the psp.
i think monsters in this version is easier do defeat unlike the psp version...i was going to buy it but nvm i think it is too easy to beat...
@mamphy8 i haven't play this in iphone but if this game is the same as the psp version you can't loot weapons... u make them or upgrade them...and if this game is too hard for you don't even try the psp version... monsters doesn't have life bars and such...u wont know if ur actually killing the monster and bosses in this version are weak... ^_^
this game SUCKS, why dont they give you better weapons , ive already beat like 9 bosses & they still dont give me weapon or they suck more than the ones i already have. fuckers just want you to pay for the in app 99c potions to make you stonger, this apps a rippoff!
I think the combat doesn't look anywhere near as fun as Tri, but it looks fun enough that if it had the exploration from other games (you know, the HUNTING part) I would buy it. Right now, I don't care. I have already bought Infinity Blade for one-on-one boss battles and tons of upgrades.
Lol this is awful compared to psp version :( this is excellent proof in my opinion why the psp will always be stronger than iPhone. Sorry fanboys...Nottttt :)
I bought it thinking it would be silly, seeing that the trailer I was shown lacked content, but when I bought it, I was actually a bit surprised by the amount of weapons and armor. Not something I'd do day and night, but it is addicting, and would be great for road trips.
This was a HUGE disappointment from what i thought they were going to do. I was hoping for the adventure but I was surprised then went more infinity blade style.
I think Capcom fails to tap the potential of the iPhone/iPad/iPod. What iOS needs is a good Monster Hunter game like sirmel11 said. After all, if Gameloft can make a great Zelda clone for App store, why can't Capcom make something like Monster Hunter iOS?
@sirmel11 They've been very cautious with their releases on the platform. I'm glad this game got more loving than usual for their games, but I can't reasonably see why we can't have something like the PSP version for the App Store.
@AppSpy because when you played a monster hunter game you see it´s too fuckin complicated to port it on a device with no buttons.
So they had do push the gameplay mechanics down for the dumb audience because most of the iOS users are casual gamers and they are too handicapped to press a fuckin button
well, the iphone is inferior to the psp graphically (at least the first versions) and can't make games quite as complex as the psp, usually a 3d game for the iphone take me about 5 hours to beat, and monster hunter for psp take way longer than that. And even thou the iphone might be able to handle it, it simple would be worth all the trouble for capcom since the price tag would be so low. It's more likely we'll see something like the psp version on the 3ds.
