Take a look at the Bible instead of your man made doctrine and you will find that there is not suppose to be many Churches but one Church built upon a foundation of Prophets and Apostles so we are no tossed by every whim of doctrine. (Ephesians 4:14).
Christ made one faith (Ephesians 4:5) not many faiths, there reason for the many Churches is that the true Church was abandoned with the Apostles and men made up many different Churches after rejecting the true Church Christ established.
Yes - there is quite some room for play and time to understand more perfectly for INDIVITUALS... to make this ground for justification of whole denominations is a sad distortion of what is addressed = immature believers in the body of Christ, who (as Paul trusts) will even get these things revealed as time goes on.
Brethren - switch denominational blindness off and your own spiritual mind on.
I live in Boise, Idaho which is near where Mr. Slick lives. The other day I was at a Hastings entertainment store and I could not believe what I saw. The great and perfect Matt Slick was looking at the Maxim and Playboy magazines they had. I walked right over a began looking at them as well. I said "Hello mr. Slick" and he very quickly left the store. It was very amusing.
Depends on which jesus? the charismatic jesus ? the reformed Jesus ? which is the real jesus? whIch of the 31,000 different jesus's is the real jesu christou? Talking about a needle in a hay stack!
@OpenAirAtheist the one in the bible, he's pretty consistent throughout the gospels. Real Les Strobel's case for the real christ he says it better then I can in 256 characters on youtube. Then again I'm guessing by your name you don't like to read books with opposing differences. Most Christians don't either, but hey...Dawkins is always good for a laugh so I do.
@TopherBlairMusic I do not pretend to be un bias unlike Lee Stroble who's books have been refuted so many times it's rediculious! Asking me to deal with Lee Stroble's arguments is like asking me to refute Ray Comfort's assertion About the banana being proof of god! You are always welcome to debate me respectfully on skype. Above all I am a realist and so I'm not naive enough to believe in non biasness. Now come up with argumentation that hasn't been refuted and that isn't from ignorance.
@OpenAirAtheist fair enough, although to be fair we could really say every book on either side of the argument has been refuted really. I don't have Skype but you can PM me here if you want to.
No man can serve two masters Matthew 6:24 but I'll tell you this if you like to do some thing that you know is wrong, then ask God to help you overcome it or for him to take the word out of your heart and he will? I know this from experience no man is born perfect it is God that makes? us perfect. I wish you the best on your way to being a good Christan also listen to Malachi 4:5 a.k.a William Branham he makes the word more clear to you God sent him for a reason to see him visit my channel
Only to the atheist's tiny mind do they seem mutually exclusive, due to the fact that his mind is incapable of accommodating more than one idea at a time.
In reality, all religious paths revealed by God are in perfect harmony with one another and they augment each other, just as the different sets of facts in the various grade levels in school build upon each other.
2+2=4 AND 3+3=6 -- the mere difference of any two facts does not imply negation of either fact. Same with religious facts.
How come none of the salvation quotes come from the gospels, but all rather from the period of Paul?? But when you look at salvation from the teachings of Jesus, works are definitely an important aspect. Then Jesus in the gospels tells us to keep the commandments, and Paul says a bunch of commandments that Christians no longer have to keep?? Who should we follow, Jesus or Paul??
credit where credit is due, that is the first time Matt Slick has talked some sense. However that doesn't excuse him for the bashing he gave baptists, roman catholics and muslims. We need true exceptence of all faiths, by all faiths to be able to grow and Mr Slick does promote inter-religious dis-harmony pretty much all of the time. We need to rejoice in our similarities, not fight over our differences.
Penance and Purgatory completely nullify the gospel which is that Christ made the payment for our sins; Mary's sinnlessness goes against God's Word; Eucharistic adoration is idolatry; praying to Mary and the saints is polytheism; Baptism, Reconcilliation, mass attendance are dead works calling a man 'Holy Father' is Blaspheme; Requiring belief in a Church's interpretation denies the Work of the Holy Spirit; etc; Please Repent from trusting a church org. and trust in Christ for Salvation!
@kathyneddy i agree with you the whole way, and to be honest i've been looking for people just like you, all alone the bible has been saying that we are one in Christ, I strongly believe that He is not a God of confusion that tells different things to all of us, man do that, but the word is one only, the thing is even He has said that the His word is not meant to be debated with, for the Holly Spirit gives the same feeling to us all. feed me back ciao.
@libau33 2=the apostles had no choice but to write down those events with Jesus to their follow christians just incase Jesus wasn't going to show up the second time in their lifetime, and they only carried out the old testament-for those who think bible was put together before apostles were dead. please read history and stop being so ignorant of the catholic church. take it from me, why? i am a middle eastern catholic and our church in original place existed by apostles themselves, by st.thomas.
@libau33 u don't even make sense! how is tradition contradicting bible when those traditions are followed from the bible. ur perspective has lost u of what traditions mean. tradition of the catholic church is 'SACRED TRADITION'=IT WAS TAUGHT BY APOSTLES THEMSELVES TO THEIR SUCCESSORS AND NOT JUST SOME INDIVIDUALS ALL OF THE SUDDEN CAME UP WITH THEIR OWN ANSWERS AND INTERPRETATIONS. Jesus did not come to earth as man to give a book and just read the book. book (bible)wasn't even written until..
@Catholicist "IT WAS TAUGHT BY APOSTLES THEMSELVES TO THEIR SUCCESSORS" Exactly WHO said the apostles had any successors. I don't recall any Bible verse that so teaches.
2 of 2. The shortcomings of man are recognized BUT how can the “act” of "division" be the will of God & justified with 38,000 flaunted variations that demean the very message? It is by and through the personal relationship with God and living as an example that God's truth/will can be seen and taking a divisional stance by placing a label on ourselves can only thwart this. Would it not be hypocrisy to participate in dividing God’s people - where is God and His Holy Spirit in all this?
1 of 2. By the very will of man to divide himself (by denomination) he is practicing judgment, standing on his "own" interpretation of truth, dividing in the mindset of superior understanding over another & placing a label on it. This act can be nothing but flesh (ego) based. Q: Why do we have 38,000 variations? A: For the same reason we divide ourselves by race instead of seeing all as human - to act upon this division/separatism cannot be justified or, based on scripture, God‘s will.
here are some verses for you so you'll know where catholic faith comes from: matthew 18:17-18, luke 10:16: IN THE ADDITION, THE N.T. DOES NOT DEMONSTRATE SOLA SCRIPTURA. WHERE? IF YOU KEEP TALKING ABOUT WHERE IN THE BIBLE. SHOW ME. people got their bible and that and they go around claiming to have the two thousand yr-old faith. WHERE DOES IT SAY IN THE BIBLE THAT THE BIBLE IS THE AUTHORITY?
@Catholicist The Bible is God's Word. God's Word is the authority last time I checked. I assume you will actually read these...Mark 13:31, John 12:48-50, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12, and maybe Hebrews 6:13 just in case.
@jesusismyhero123-bible doesn't teach sola scriptura. where? all these verses that you gave me are already been examined i find your weakness in terms. i said where does it say in the BIBLE that the BIBLE IS THE AUTHORITY? so, you mean you are the intrepreter for all Christians out there if they follow you? those verses were about jesus talking and explaining to his disciples.
@Catholicist Ephesians 3:4 - Whereby, WHEN YE READ, ye may UNDERSTAND my knowledge in the mystery of Christ
1 Corinthians 4:6 - And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us NOT TO THINK OF MEN ABOVE THAT WHICH IS WRITTEN, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.
jesusismyhero123what reformers, your own,or?martin luther brain washed you with all that self-made intrepetations.you see the pope writing on the bible itself,or deleting anything?martin did!church in tradition,in bible.quit ignoring it!you are following martin luther idea if you are just following the KJV.when started you church?lay foundation.yours from apostles directly, hmm for 2000yrs
@jesusismyhero123 then why are you igoring what jesus said in John 6:55 "For My Flesh is food indeed, and My Blood is drink indeed." Further, Jesus uses the word which is translated as "sarx." "Sarx" means flesh (not "soma" which means body). See, for example, John 1:13,14; 3:6; 8:15; 17:2; Matt. 16:17; 19:5; 24:22; 26:41; Mark 10:8; 13:20; 14:38; and Luke 3:6; 24:39 which provides other examples in Scripture where "sarx" means flesh. It is always literal.
@Catholicist So I guess the Bible is "sola scriptura." The Bible is all we need. No priests, creeds, popes, or whatever else to tell me what it means. We are commanded to read for ourselves and come to an understanding of the Bible. It means the same for me as it does for all people everywhere. The Catholic Church IS NOT the church of the NT. It is probably the oldest denomination, but is not the church Jesus built, paid for with His blood, and rules as the Head of.
@jesusismyhero123 HARD HEADED CHRISTIAN! WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT BIBLE IS "SOLA SCRIPTURA" IF YOU ARE BASING EVERYTHING ON THE BIBLE? YOU DON'T MAKE SENSE! ALL I CAN TELL YOU IS READ HISTORY. OK, THEN DID YOU UNDERSTAND ANYTHING FOR INSTANCE THE BAPTIZIM. WHO WILL DO BAPTIZIM YOU, AND WHO BAPTIZED YOU? now date back all the way and see you baptized who? if not, cause you lost your postion on the bible: jesus gave authority to his apostles to their successors.
@jesusismyhero123 i don't think you are a middle eastern to FULLY UNDERSTAND where i come from. i speak Assyrian-Aramaic and i understand the bible more than any American whether a Catholic or protestant. meanings and traditions have been their and there in first century Catholicism ways, whom even Jesus talks about us in Nineveh. Assyrians or Chaldeans have been doing the Catholic Mass since SAINT THOMAS. I'M DONE!
@jesusismyhero123 if you THINK Bible is "sola scriptura", here is some evidence that Assyrians will be Accept Jesus "In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria -- a blessing in the midst of the land, whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, "Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance." Isaiah 19:24-25
@Catholicist Again, where is Catholic at in the Bible? I can find Christian (Acts 11:26), but not Catholic. You still can't answer Matthew 23:9. You still can't answer 1 Timothy 4:1-3. You still can't answer 2 Thessalonians 2:4.
@jesusismyhero123 exactly! you said we were adding and substracting WHAT? you complained about it, not me. and i said catholic church does not add or subract, you do! your just told me that we need no one to baptize us, celebrate the Euchrist, so on. so where does your church stand in the middle of the book by your intrepretation against Jesus who told to do all that? please read the whole bible instead of just picking and choosing verses for your confort. that's not sacrificial.
@jesusismyhero123 very weak back up! Mark 13:31 - heaven and earth will pass away, but Jesus' Word will not pass away. But Jesus never says anything about His Word being entirely committed to a book. Also, it took 400 years to compile the Bible, and another 1,000 years to invent the printing press. How was the Word of God communicated? Orally, by the bishops of the Church, with the guidance and protection of the Holy Spirit.
Psalm 119:5 - Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Notice how God's word can keep us from sin.
Why dosen't it say the "pope, cardinal, bishop, or pastor's" words can keep us from sin? Because they are flawed, unperfect, sinners, just like the rest of humanity - they need Jesus.
Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God
@jesusismyhero123 Mark 3:14; 16:15 - Jesus commands the apostles to preach (not write) the gospel to the world. Jesus gives no commandment to the apostles to write, and gives them no indication that the oral apostolic word he commanded them to communicate would later die in the fourth century. If Jesus wanted Christianity to be limited to a book (which would be finalized four centuries later), wouldn't He have said a word about it?
@Catholicist Revelation 1:11 - Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
@jesusismyhero123FUNNY! ARE YOU FROM MIDDLE EAST, OR ROME?PLEASE, PLEASE,READ THE WHOLE BIBLE FIRST!"Churches" refers to the community of Christians living in each city, and not which they gathered EVERYTIME for worship.PAY ATTENTION AGAIN!known as The Seven Churches of the Apocalypse.are seven major churches of Early Christianity.written to by Ignatius of Antioch=All seven sites are in modern-day Turkey=WAS PART OF MY COUNTRY ASSYRIA, continue...
@Catholicist So....are you saying that you are BETTER than me in God's eyes because you are Assyrian? I sure hope not. Maybe you should read this again...
Romans 2:11 - For there is no respect of persons with God.
@Catholicist Acts 10:34-35 - Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
Maybe I'm wrong....but it seems as though you are a little racist? And you don't even know what race I am. Even though it dosen't matter. Except maybe to supremist people like yourself. Didn't Hitler think one race was supreme over others? Surely you're not like that?
@jesusismyhero123 SORRY IF YOU THOUGHT I WAS BEING RACIST,IM NOT. WE ALL CHRISTIANS HERE WE ALL IN IMAGE OF GOD. I WAS TRYING TO MAKE A POINT OF YOU PICKING VERSES THAT GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH FOR EXAMPLE REVELATIONS.
@jesusismyhero123visions of victory over evil and persecution and of the triumph of God and the martyrs. PLEASE DON'T RESPONDE TO ME UNTIL YOU READ THE WHOLE BIBLE AND DO YOUR RESEARCH CORRECTLY!!!!!!! I'M GOING TO PLAY WITH OTHERS FOR NOW TO SAVE THEM FROM THIS HORRIBLE SCHOOLS OF THOUGHT. THIS NOT ABOUT AN INDIVIDAUL'S FREEDOM, THIS IS ABOUT ONE (WHOLE) HOLY (SPIRITUAL) AND APOSTOLIC (DISCIPLES) CATHOLIC (UNIVERSAL) CHURCH (ONE BODY) TO STAY STRONG AGAINST THE ENEMY, FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST.
@Catholicist So....is the Bible a "dead letter?" I sure hope you don't believe that. Maybe you should read this again...
Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
@Catholicist No wonder Catholics believe the Bible is a "dead letter." By "dead letter" Catholics believe scripture ONLY applies to who it was written, or spoken to. What other choice could you have when the Bible condems most Catholic church practices?
@jesusismyhero123 REALLY? YOU JUST SAID THAT WE DON'T HAVE TO HAVE BAPTIZIM, CONFESSION, EUCHRIST, CONFIRMATION, SACRAFICE, SO ON. THOSE ARE NOT CHURCH PRATICES, THOSE ARE AS I SHOWED YOU THE VERSES DIRECTLY FROM THE BIBLE. SO I DON'T NEED TO GO ANY FURTHER THAN THIS TO KEEP REPEATING MYSELF. LIKE TO SAY THAT THANK YOU MY FRIEND, I DON'T WANT TO THINK THAT I'M BEING MEAN ANYHOW. I'D RATHER SEE A BIBLE READER THAN ANYTHING ELSE. SO THANK AND GOD BLESS. LOVE YOU! LOVE ONE ANOTHER-JESUS
@Catholicist Now wait just a second....I never said the BIBLE didn't teach these things. I said The Bible condems CATHOLIC CHURCH practices. For example - the Bible teaches baptism is immersion in water (Acts 8:35-39) not sprinkling or pouring. Also the Bible teaches a qualification for baptism is REPENTANCE (Acts 2:38). How can an infant repent?
@jesusismyhero123=HONESTLY, AREN'T WE ALL BORN SINFUL BEFORE BAPTIZIM. THAT'S WHAT BAPTIZIM DOES, THEN CHRIST COMES IN PURIFY US BY THE BAPTIZIM OF FIRE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. SO WHEN DO YOU THINK THAT SOME SHOULD BE BAPTIZED. HONESTLY, ASK YOURSELF THAT, WHAT 5, 7, 9, 12, 15, 30,WHAT AND WHEN? WHAT IF HE OR DIES? THAT'S WHY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IS STRICT ALSO ON ABORTION. BECAUSE NEVER KNOW WHO GOES THROUGH HELL BECAUSE OF THE SINS OF FATHER AND MOTHER OF THAT CHILD.
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
What does that teach? Every person will answer for their own sin, not anyone else's.
@jesusismyhero123 where does it say that you are always saved. one section, and then later another section it says by faith and then you have to do the works.
Ezekiel 28:15 - Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
What does that teach? That every person is created perfect until THEY choose to sin. Obviously they would have to be old enough to know that sin is transgression of law. (1 John 3:4)
@jesusismyhero123 Romans 5:12-21 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. AFTER THEY KNOW JESUS, RIGHT? PARENTS RESPONIBILITY! NOT JUDGING AGAIN!!!SINCE YOUR ONLY GOING BY WORDS ONLY!
@Catholicist P.S. - Aborted babies don't go to Hell. They are born perfect (free from sin). They don't go to Hell because they have committed no sin. They don't go to Hell because of their parents sin. Shame on anyone who thinks so. Please read your Bible.
@jesusismyhero123 Psalm 51:5=I know I've been a sinner ever since I was born.I've been a sinner ever since my mother became pregnant with me. opps! original sin! go ahead tell me if you now believe so much in JUST THE BIBLE!!!
Psalm 58:3=The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. THIS WILL WASH AWAY AFTER BAPTIZIM. NOW I'M NOT JUDGING IM JUST GOING BY THE BIBLE, RIGHT?
@jesusismyhero123 1 Corinthians 15:21-22=For since by man came death,by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. AFTER BAPTIZIM, RIGHT? DIDN'T JESUS SAY BAPTIZE IN NAME OF FATHER, SON, HOLY SPIRIT? YES OR NO? IF IS BEFORE THEY WERE IN A RESTING PLACE NOT LIKE MOSES, IT SAYS IN BIBLE. JESUS DESCENDED AND ASCENDED. IT'S A CALLED PURGATORY! I HAVE NO ROOM TO EXPLAIN FOR NOW...
@Catholicist The Bible teaches this - James 5:17 - Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. I don't need the "priest" to pray for me, I can do that myself.
@jesusismyhero123 SEE THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING, YOU NOT PAYING ATTENTION, YOU FORGOT EVERYTHING THAT I POINT OUT WHY WE HAVE AUTHORITY. ALSO IN THE BIBLE IT SAYS, PRIOR TO WHAT YOU 'JUST' THINK TO ONE ANOTHER(THAT'S ALSO PRACTICAL IN LIFE), HOWEVER=2 Sam. 12:14 - even though the sin is forgiven, there is punishment due for the forgiven sin. David is forgiven but his child was still taken (the consequence of his sin).1TIM 6:12,
@Catholicist "Eucharist" to the rest of us is called the Lord's Supper or communion. The Bible teaches this is unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine (grapejuice not wine - Matthew 26:26-29). This was observed by the church EVERY Lord's Day, or first day of the week. (Acts 20:7). It is not "transubstantiation" or LITERALLY Jesus' body and blood. It REPRESENTS His body and blood. Try drinking a literal cup as Jesus said. Can't be done. So it represents Him, not IS Him.
@jesusismyhero123 SEE YOU ARE INTRPETING ACCORDING WHAT YOU LIKE, NOT JESUS AND NOT BIBLE. EXACTLY, LORDS SUPPER, COMMUNION, IN CATHILC CHURCHJESUS PREPARES HIS, HE CALLS HIS DISCIPLES:JOHN 1:28-30,6:53,1:28-30,1JOHN 5:16-17,6:22-69, 1 CRNTHNS.5:7,11:17(THAT'S WHY WE HAVE CONFESSIONS),PUT THIS TOGETHER EXODUS 12:8,12:46,12:1-13,12:21-28. WHY IT CAN'T BE DONE! THAT IS CONTRIDICTING JESUS AGAIN. CAREFUL WHAT NOT READING!
@Catholicist Confirmation must mean they directly receive the Holy Spirit in their fleshly, literal bodies, but the Bible teaches otherwise. The Holy Spirit instructs, guides, and influences us by the written Word of God. (John 16:13) The scriptures furnish us completely unto every good work. (1 Timothy 3:16-17). This is how the Holy Spirit dwells in us - through the Word of God - not in our fleshly bodies.
@jesusismyhero123 James 5:16 - James clearly teaches us that we must confess our sins to one another, not just privately to God. James 5:16 must be read in the context of James 5:14-15, which is referring to the healing power (both physical and spiritual) of the priests of the Church.when James says therefore in verse 16, he must be referring to the men he was writing about in verses 14 and 15 these men are the ordained priests of the Church, to whom we must confess our sins.
@Catholicist I think that should explain what I said. I don't deny the Bible, or its practices. I do deny the "Catholic Church", because its practices are not scriptural.
1 Timothy 3:16-17 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
@jesusismyhero123 OF COURSE NO MAN WILL BE PERFECT, WERE THE DISCIPLES WHO WROTE THE BIBLE THAT YOUR HOLDING PERFECT? NO! HOWEVER, THEY WERE GIVEN POWER AFTER JESUS RETURNED TO THEM AND BLESSED AND GAVE THEM POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT (BREATHED UPON THEM). TELL ME WHAT ARE THE THINGS THAT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IS NOT DOING BY THE BIBLE. I WILL BET YOU ARE HONESTLY A GOOD CHRISTIAN, WHICH I'M NOT SAYING YOU AREN'T, BUT LOOK IN THE BIBLE AND COMPARE THE TWO AND YOU! AND IT WAS WINE FOR A FACT!
1. SPRINKLE=Ezekiel 36:24-29Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols.
2. EUCHRIST=Gen. 14:18 - this is the first time that the word "priest" is used in Old Testament. Melchizedek is both a priest and a king and he offers a bread and wine sacrifice to God.High priest - Hebrews 4:14=Jesus was also call the high priest (highest).CONTINUED...
@jesusismyhero123 #2. The word anamnesis (remembrance) also refers to a sacrifice which is really or actually made present in time by the power of God, as it reminds God of the actual event Heb.10:3;Num.10:10. It is not just a memorial of a past event, but a past event made present in time.two memorials, one sacrificial which Jesus instituted, and one non-sacrificial.
@jesusismyhero123John6:53-56="Amen, amen I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood you do not have life within you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life and I will raise him up on the last day. For My flesh is true food and My blood is true drink. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me and I in him" OOOPPPS!!! I WILL NEVER DENY THAT. MIRACLES HAVE HAPPENED FRONT OF MY EYES OF THAT!!!
@jesusismyhero123 #3In the Old Testament,Hebrew word yah-yin is translated as "wine."The Hebrew word means fermented, as in wine, not grape juice. To prove it means wine, not grape juice.Luke 22:14-19Take this and divide it among yourselves;for I say to you,I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes. He took bread, gave thanks broke it And gave it to them, saying,This is My body which is given for you;do this in remembrance of Me..
@jesusismyhero123#4DONE!#5.once more, they have the documents directly from apostles of Jesus=Bible Scriptures, apostles who succeeded them to them modern day, pope.he does just intrepret,he keeps the one faith NOT THOUSANDS.LIKE YOUR DOING.LIKE I SAID CHECK FOR DOCUMENTS. WE CAN INTREPRET FOR OURSELVES BUT WHY DON'T GO BUY LAND AND THINK THAT OF THE SUDDEN WE ARE RIGHT.LIKE I SAID HAVE WE "AS CHURCH" LIKE YOU SAY LIVED FOR 2000+? NO.YOUR QUESTIONS ARE NOT FOR ME TO ANSWER,TOO LONG TO ANSWER.
@jesusismyhero123 #6. WHO "THEY". THAT IS SILLY ACCUSATION!!!IS THAT WHAT YOU READ OR LISTEN FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE AGAINST THE CHURCH, I BET! CURSE BE UPON THEM! "THEY" PASTERS OR YOU, WHOEVER, ARE TELLING LIES. MAYBE I SHOULDN'T BLAME YOU. I TOLD YOU THAT POPES ARE HEAD OF C.C. THE SUCCESSOR OF PETER, NOT GOD OR JESUS. PLEASE GET YOU FACTS STRAIGHT! ALSO WHEN THE MASS (PASSOVER) IS DONE HE REPRESENTING JESUS CHRIST REMEMBERING HIM, JUST LIKE JESUS DISCIPLES DID
@jesusismyhero123#8tradition is inspired by the bible!bible is inspired by God!c.c. compile those individual books.can't believe that your actaully holding the very book that saints were martyred for,yet you ignore it,should praying for them, thanking them.research you'll know that c.c.was 400yrs before bible, traditions already by jesus himself and disciples taught
@Catholicist 10. They teach that Mary (and other saints) hears and answers prayers. Unscriptural.
That should be enough evidence to convince anyone that the Catholic church IS NOT THE CHURCH JESUS BUILT (Matthew 16:18), PAID FOR WITH HIS BLOOD ( Acts 20:28) AND RULES AS THE HEAD OF (Colossians 1:18).
@jesusismyhero123...ignatius of antioch among apostolic, 3rd bishop, partiarch student of John apostle,st.ignatius bishop of antioch after st.peter and st.evodius died 67. eusebius records st.ignatius succeeded st.evodius. apostolic sucess, theodoret informed tath peter appointed ignatius to see of antioch.addition to your question, these places were both instructions by Christ, and were the actual place of the Christian celebrating mass.
@Catholicist 1 Timothy 1:4 - Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
@Catholicist 1 Corinthians 14:37 - If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.
@jesusismyhero123I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS ARE JUST IGNORING OTHER FACTS. BUT I'LL JUST GIVE ANOTHER TRY FOR YOU, I FEEL SAD THAT YOUR ACTUALLY THINK YOU HAD ME. DO YOU KNOW WHAT CORINTHIANS IS? IF YOU DO THEN LINK IT TO....? WHO? LET ME KNOW. IF YOU DON'T, IT'S YOUR LOST, BUT AGAIN IF YOU KNOW, THEN YOUR GOING TO HEAR FROM FOR FURTHER FACTS FROM BEFORE. LINK THIS TO PAUL AND EARLY CHRISTIANS.
@jesusismyhero123 SO ARE YOU JUST WHATEVER? PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOUR GIVING ME HERE, YOU CONTRIDICTED YOU AND THE BIBLE. AND BELOW ABOUT THE REVELATION 1:11, YOU MIXED UP THE WORDS, THAT MEANS YOU LIED. READ THE WHOOOOLE SECTIONS OF THAT REVELATION. WHO IS HE OR WHAT, WHAT IS REVELATION ALL ABOUT? OPPPS, YOUR DELETING AND ADDING TO JUST PROVE ME WRONG! I THINK IT'S CLEAR TO ME...
@Catholicist I didn't mix up anything. That's what it says. I'm just putting Bible verses that contradict what you say. YOU SAID Jesus never told anyone to write. The Bible shows that He did. So who's the liar?
@jesusismyhero123 I SAID DID NOT GIVE JUST AN AUTHORITY AS A WRITTEN WORD TO JUSTIFY YOUR INTREPRETATIONS. HE GAVE AUTHORITY HIS DISCIPLES AND TO THEIR SUCCESSORS. FOR EXAMPLE, IF WERE FIND A NEW MARTIAL ART TECHNIQUES WOULD I BE THE MASTER AND THEN I THE ONLY ONE TO GIVE AUTHORITY TO MY STUDENTS TO TEACH OTHERS TO PASS IT ON? I HAVE AN INSTRUCTOR AND I'M BELOW HIM, AND OTHERS BELOW ME NOW, AND THEY WILL HAVE TO KEEP THE LINEAGE GOING.
@Catholicist Matter of fact, the Bible is destroying almost everything that you say. No wonder you need other sources. You evidently need to pick and choose which ones suite you best at the moment. Sad. Stick with the Bible alone. It's God's Word. God is alive, so His Word is still alive. God is still on the throne. Not the "pope". Until the "pope" kicks God off, (which ain't gonna happen), I'm content with believing the Bible only. By the way, what does "pope" mean again?
@jesusismyhero123 I DO PICK THE BIBLE ALONE, BUT NOT BY MY AUTHORITY TO INTREPRET. THAT IS WHY APOSTOLIC SUCCESION IS IN LINE FOR. POPE MEANS IN LATIN POPA FATHER, BISHOP,IT DOES REFER TO HIM AS GOD, AND ABOUT THE BIBLE, FATHER=ACTS 7:2, 7:38-39,7:44-45,7:51-53, I CORINTH. 4:14-15, TITUS 1:4=ALTHOUGH NOT DIRECTLY AS FATHER, BUT REMINDING CHRISTIANS OF HIS SPIRITUAL FATHERHOOD.
@jesusismyhero123 who said the pope or anyone is a prophet. PROTESTANTS OR INDIVIDUALS LIKE YOU OFTEN THINK THIS ACTUALLY.VERSE WAS WRITTEN TO EARLY CHRISTIANS, AND WHO ARE THE EARLY CHRISTIANS? I SUGGEST READ THE WHOLE BIBLE AND THE CORRECT FACTS OF WHO SUCCEEDED THESE WHOLE COMMUNITIES. ALSO, REV.1.11+During Old Assyrian period, 20th to 15th centuries BCE, parts of Asia Minor. AND THIS VERSE WAS ABOUT ANGELS.
Psalm 119:105 - Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path
Why does it not say the "pope, cardinal, bishop, or pastor's" words can light my path? I think it is self explanitory: God is the highest authority there is. Why do we need anything else?
@jesusismyhero123 actually, early church fathers said ignorance of Scripture is ignorance or Christ Jesus!!! they died (martyred for our sake to keep the word of God passing thru the centuries.people ignore history are going destroy Chrisianity no longer will have a proof of evidence to back it up,britain or England for instance becoming weak,Chirstians are having their own intrepretation of the bible, keeps growing weaker each year cause they can't come to a conclusion.islam is taking over!
@jesusismyhero123REMEMBER AGAIN YOU ARE AN EXPERT IN LANGUAGE, BIBLE WASN'T WRITTEN IN ENGLISH, IT WAS GREEK, HEBREW AND ARAMAIC(ALSO SPOKEN) BY JESUS AND JEWS AND ASSYRIANS. IT'S TOO BAD THAT YOUR CHURCH OR WHOEVER DOESN'T INFORM YOU ABOUT THE WRITINGS OR THE EARLY CHURCH...GOD BLESS YOU, I HOPE!
@Catholicist One more thing - is God a respecter of persons, or in other words, does He show favortism?
Acts 10:34,35 - Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
Romans 2:11 - For there is no respect of persons with God.
@jesusismyhero123 WHAT ABOUT YOU? SO YOU HAVE THE FINAL WORD TO TEACH ME? HAVE YOU LIVED FOR 2000YRS? I NEED EVIDENCE OF THOSE WHO WROTE IT. IF NOT, I'M NOT GONNA FOLLOW WHAT YOU TRYING TO SAY ABOUT "THIS" OR "THAT" VERSE. BECAUSE YOU INTREPRETING FOR ONLY...HOW OLD ARE YOU, OR ME, OR YOUR CHURCH AND YOUR BIBLE IN THIS AGE? DOESN'T TAKE A ROCKET SCIENCE TO UNDERSTAND!
@jesusismyhero123@jesusismyhero123-moreover,in the old testament, the Lord endowed his priests with authority to interpret his laws-LEV. 20:1-27,( 25:1-55, DEUTRNMY. 17:8-17,JUDE.10-11,MATT. 28:20,18:18,ACTS.2:14-36,15:28-29, LUKE 10-16).how are you going to defend against those don't believe the historical Jesus if you don't have the 2000yr-old manuscripts, for example in courts. 200yrs from now if there isn't historical documents like the Catholic Church then you are lost in just word.
@Catholicist Hebrews 11:1 & 6 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
@jesusismyhero123-don't make sense, i asked you where does it say it have to be in the scriptures, and i told you that these words are the word of God. you don't have the authority to intrepret the bible. DO YOU HAVE AUTHORITY TO BAPTIZE FOR INSTANCE? or will you just ignore what Jesus taught his disciples to go out into all nations and baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
@Catholicist Deuteronomy 4:2 - Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
@jesusismyhero123 DO YOU SEE CATHOLICS WORDS ADDED IN THE BIBLE? I THINK NOT! WE PAPCY DOESN'T ADD IN -SCRIPTURES, WHERE? IT HAS BEGUN FROM PETER TO LINUS, THOMAS, PAUL TO GUIDE THE CHURCH THROUGH THE AGES AND KEEP TRADITIONS.
@Catholicist Proverbs 30:6 - Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Jude 3 - Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
@Catholicist Gal.1:6-9 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
@Catholicist Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
@Catholicist Ephesians 4:5 - One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Mark 7:7 - Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Ephesians 4:14 - That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
@Catholicist 1 Peter 2:9 - But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
@jesusismyhero123 I THINK YOUR IGNORING THE FACT THAT YOUR NOT UNDERSTANDING WHAT I'M PROVING TO YOU. WE AS CATHOLIC FIND THE BIBLE INSPIRED BY THE WORD GOD, WE EVEN DO EVERYTHING THAT IN THE BIBLE, AND IF WE IGNORE CHRIST CHURCH WE IGNORE ALL THAT HE HAS DONE TO BAPTIZE, FORGIVE SINS, FAITH WITH WORKS, SO ON.
@jesusismyhero123- do you believe in original sin?peter is the first pope (pope does not mean just pope as in english)your forgetting that the bible was not written in ENGLISH. WHEN DO YOU BELIEVE ONE SHOULD BE BAPTIZED? we don't worship marry we adore her, just like Jesus adore it her, he said take marry as your mother. peter was married before, and it didn't matter.priests are not representing peter, just successions. priest are representing Christ
@Catholicist There is no original sin. Read these...
Ezekiel 18:20 - The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
@jesusismyhero123 original sin is from our first parents (adam and eve). also i don't think i'm better than you because of my Assyrian, God knows that's not the case here, i want to be better. i making my point of how your choosing your verses in very unreasonable and unmatchable ways. but i must say that i am better as Catholic Christian of understanding the bible.
@jesusismyhero123 sprinkling, no we should drown them? lol, ha. if you are so much into the bible, then where does it say it has to be in the bible? do you have or teach others you own strategies to influence people to read the people. what about trinity? what about the cross? do we need cross? i think your making false defendless verses taht only is showing about christ' events and teaching taht already Catholics accept and do.
@jesusismyhero123 we don;t worship any body or anything, they are respected than you and i. they are more holy than you and i. if i or any good understanding catholic worship the pope or marry, or images, believe me i know i wouldn't be Catholic all my life. do you celebrate christ's birth. if not, then you are becoming like an atheist who just services himself by what he reads and says. celebrations for people to know why Christ, to remember him. not worshiping trees
@Catholicist Romans 10:17 - So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
2 Peter 1:20-21 - Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
@jesusismyhero123 - YOU JUST CONTRIDICTED YOURSELF, AND THE BIBLE! PAY ATTENTION- any private interpretation...so on. your making your bible private. a priest was established by God himself (Deuteronomy 17:8-13). you cannot be serious that i should get your interpretation, because have you lived for 2000yrs, don't think so! Catholic church was developed not, created by Jesus Himself. Read Greek language as well, Antioch-KATHOLIKOS IN GREEK
@Catholicist I actually have a Greek Bible. Where is catholic at? Book, chapter and verse, please. Are you saying that Antioch is translated catholic in the Greek language? It isn't. So where is it?
@jesusismyhero123-NOW THE ORIGINAL WRITINGS ARE IN GREEK, BUT AGAIN REMEMBER THAT CHRIST JESUS SPOKE ARAMAIC TO BE ABLE TO FULLY UNDERSTAND WHY WE AS CATHOLIC AS ALWAYS BY THE EARLY CHRISTIANS DO WHAT WE DO, ALWAYS HAVE DONE. I THINK THAT PROBLEM IS NOT YOU, IT'S EITHER WHOEVER TELLS YOU TO JUST READ THE BIBLE AND PICK VERSES THAT ARE SUITABLE FOR YOUR DAILY LIFE. THAT'S OK TOO, BUT AGAIN...
@Catholicist 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
@Catholicist 1 Corinthians 15:5-8 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time
@Catholicist Mark 13:31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away
John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
@Catholicist 1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
@Catholicist 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart
@jesusismyhero123 YOUR INTREPRETING TOO MUCH, YOUR PICKING AND CHOOSING VERSES THAT GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH THE REVELATIONS OR THE TRADITIONS. IS IT YOUR---TRADITION---TO TELL MEN WHAT YOU BELIEVE, OR SHOULD ALL FIND WAYS TO INTREPRET? bible: 1 corinthians 11: 2 = i praise you because you remember me in every thing and hold fast to the TRADITIONS, JUST AS I HANDED THEM TO YOU. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! IM DONE FOR NOW
@Catholicist 1 Timothy 4:1-3 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth
@Catholicist 2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
@jesusismyhero123-tell me where, how, when, by who, placed the bible that your reading and holding and defending? 1 thslnns 2:13 was a letter even talking about the churches that were developed or recognized from jerusalum, Assyria, persia, Greece, Rome, Syria, etc. i'm from the middle east and i've seen the historical church in caves that were from 1 and 2 century Catholic Churches.
@PhilosophicalStud FUNNY! those are CULTURAL NOT DIFFERENT BELIEFS. we don't consider ourselves liberal or whatever you view of catholicism is. I AM A CHRISTIANS AND THAT IS THAT. it doesn't mean they are different catholics. they're not with papacy that begin right after Jesus Christ. do little more research on early fathers and even in the bible. in greek word it clearly says Katholikos (universal). i don't see baptized, anglican, presbyterian, or lutheran, or pontecost etc.
LOL! My imperfect, finite, limited understanding of theology is better than your imperfect, finite, limited understanding of theology . . . so there! (where's that stick out my tongue font?)
Catholics do not have thousands of different catholic denominations with many different beliefs.. The many christian denominations started after the proterstant reformation. The many denominations in christianity is among the protestants not the catholics
@jesusismyhero123-YOUR CHURCH? INVITE ME AND TEACH ME YOUR OWN INTREPETATIONS. TELL ME IF IT'S YOURS OR MY CHURCH, WHERE DID THE BIBLE COME FROM OR PUT THE DOCUMENTS TOGETHER? ANY PARTICULAR CHURCH NAME IN MIND? CATHOLIC CHURCH MY FRIEND! READ HISTORY PEOPLE AND YOU'LL APPREACIATE THE HISTORICAL JESUS. IF SOMEONE ASKS YOU IF JESUS EXISTS IS THAT ALL YOU HAVE TO PROVIDE EVIDENCE IN THE COURT? I ENCOURAGE YOU TO LOOK DEEPER, YOU LOST 2000YRS OF HISTORY. WHY???
@Catholicist Matthew 16:18 - And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
@jesusismyhero123don't make sense!then how did the world got evangelized. by who and what church. self-church?1-21 centuries the catholic church evangelized all over the world. did your church start at the first century?your telling me you should ignore all those centuries because you don't need them because now you got the bible you don't need anyone else. well, sorry that's like stealing the priceless item and runing off with it by those who put the documents together. thank you and i'm done
@Catholicist Notice church, not churchES and faith, not faithS. That's what the Bible says. Evidently you didn't read those. If the Bible is right, and it is, all churches can't be right doing different things different ways. Where is the "Catholic" Church at in the Bible again? Read Matthew 23:9 and explain please.
@jesusismyhero123 exactly, NOT CHURCHES, MY FRIEND!!! I AM ASSYRIAN and our is the original directly from ST. THOMAS (ONE HOLY AND APOSTOLIC CATHOLIC CHURCH)-headed by ST.PETER. Catholic church is NOT churches, when you see different clothing or anything, those are cultural and man's race tradition, BUT NOT THE RITES OF SACROMENTS. SO? Catholic church means universal church (it's got 23 churches' RITES, NOT BELIEFS OR REFORMED).

TopherBlairMusic 4 months ago
@TopherBlairMusic I do not pretend to be un bias unlike Lee Stroble who's books have been refuted so many times it's rediculious! Asking me to deal with Lee Stroble's arguments is like asking me to refute Ray Comfort's assertion About the banana being proof of god! You are always welcome to debate me respectfully on skype. Above all I am a realist and so I'm not naive enough to believe in non biasness. Now come up with argumentation that hasn't been refuted and that isn't from ignorance.
OpenAirAtheist 4 months ago

The bible is the only thing were are to believe and if any man say anything this it not in harmony with the bible then he is not of God
prittydeb 9 months ago

SkinnyWmn69 11 months ago
credit where credit is due, that is the first time Matt Slick has talked some sense.

Penance and Purgatory completely nullify the gospel which is that Christ made the payment for our sins; Mary's sinnlessness goes against God's Word; Eucharistic adoration is idolatry; praying to Mary and the saints is polytheism; Baptism, Reconcilliation, mass attendance are dead works calling a man 'Holy Father' is Blaspheme; Requiring belief in a Church's interpretation denies the Work of the Holy Spirit; etc; Please Repent from trusting a church org. and trust in Christ for Salvation!
kathyneddy 1 year ago

Catholicist 1 year ago
Catholicist 1 year ago

AKAwisher1 1 year ago

Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist The Bible is God's Word. God's Word is the authority last time I checked. I assume you will actually read these...Mark 13:31, John 12:48-50, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12, and maybe Hebrews 6:13 just in case.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago

Explain those away.

Catholicist 1 year ago
Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist So I guess the Bible is "sola scriptura." The Bible is all we need. No priests, creeds, popes, or whatever else to tell me what it means. We are commanded to read for ourselves and come to an understanding of the Bible. It means the same for me as it does for all people everywhere. The Catholic Church IS NOT the church of the NT. It is probably the oldest denomination, but is not the church Jesus built, paid for with His blood, and rules as the Head of.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
Catholicist 1 year ago
@jesusismyhero123 i don't think you are a middle eastern to FULLY UNDERSTAND where i come from. i speak Assyrian-Aramaic and i understand the bible more than any American whether a Catholic or protestant. meanings and traditions have been their and there in first century Catholicism ways, whom even Jesus talks about us in Nineveh. Assyrians or Chaldeans have been doing the Catholic Mass since SAINT THOMAS. I'M DONE!
Catholicist 1 year ago
@jesusismyhero123 if you THINK Bible is "sola scriptura", here is some evidence that Assyrians will be Accept Jesus "In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria -- a blessing in the midst of the land, whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, "Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance." @Catholicist Again, where is Catholic at in the Bible? I can find Christian (Acts 11:26), but not Catholic. You still can't answer Matthew 23:9. You still can't answer 1 Timothy 4:1-3. You still can't answer 2 Thessalonians 2:4.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
@jesusismyhero123 exactly! you said we were adding and substracting WHAT? you complained about it, not me. and i said catholic church does not add or subract, you do! your just told me that we need no one to baptize us, celebrate the Euchrist, so on. so where does your church stand in the middle of the book by your intrepretation against Jesus who told to do all that? please read the whole bible instead of just picking and choosing verses for your confort. that's not sacrificial.
Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist
Consider these also:
Isaiah 40:8 - The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Notice it dosen't say "the word of our pope, bishop, cardinal, or pastor" shall stand forever.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
@jesusismyhero123 very weak back up! Mark 13:31 - heaven and earth will pass away, but Jesus' Word will not pass away. But Jesus never says anything about His Word being entirely committed to a book. Also, it took 400 years to compile the Bible, and another 1,000 years to invent the printing press. How was the Word of God communicated? Orally, by the bishops of the Church, with the guidance and protection of the Holy Spirit.
Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist
Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago

Romans 2:11 - For there is no respect of persons with God.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
@Catholicist Acts 10:34-35 - Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
Maybe I'm wrong....but it seems as though you are a little racist? And you don't even know what race I am. Even though it dosen't matter. Except maybe to supremist people like yourself. Didn't Hitler think one race was supreme over others? Surely you're not like that?
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago

Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist So....is the Bible a "dead letter?" I sure hope you don't believe that. Maybe you should read this again...
Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
@Catholicist No wonder Catholics believe the Bible is a "dead letter." By "dead letter" Catholics believe scripture ONLY applies to who it was written, or spoken to. What other choice could you have when the Bible condems most Catholic church practices?
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist Now wait just a second....I never said the BIBLE didn't teach these things. I said The Bible condems CATHOLIC CHURCH practices. For example - the Bible teaches baptism is immersion in water (Acts 8:35-39) not sprinkling or pouring. Also the Bible teaches a qualification for baptism is REPENTANCE (Acts 2:38). How can an infant repent?
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist Again...original sin is NOT taught anywhere in the Bible. Read
Ezekiel 18:20 -
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
What does that teach? Every person will answer for their own sin, not anyone else's.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
@jesusismyhero123 where does it say that you are always saved. one section, and then later another section it says by faith and then you have to do the works.
Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist Original sin cont...
Ezekiel 28:15 - Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
What does that teach? That every person is created perfect until THEY choose to sin. Obviously they would have to be old enough to know that sin is transgression of law. (1 John 3:4)
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
@jesusismyhero123 Romans 5:12-21 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. AFTER THEY KNOW JESUS, RIGHT? PARENTS RESPONIBILITY! NOT JUDGING AGAIN!!!SINCE YOUR ONLY GOING BY WORDS ONLY!
Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist P.S. - Aborted babies don't go to Hell. They are born perfect (free from sin). They don't go to Hell because they have committed no sin. They don't go to Hell because of their parents sin. Shame on anyone who thinks so. Please read your Bible.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
@jesusismyhero123 Psalm 51:5=I know I've been a sinner ever since I was born.I've been a sinner ever since my mother became pregnant with me. opps! original sin! go ahead tell me if you now believe so much in JUST THE BIBLE!!!
Psalm 58:3=The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. THIS WILL WASH AWAY AFTER BAPTIZIM. NOW I'M NOT JUDGING IM JUST GOING BY THE BIBLE, RIGHT?
Catholicist 1 year ago
Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist The Bible teaches this - James 5:17 - Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. I don't need the "priest" to pray for me, I can do that myself.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
David is forgiven but his child was still taken (the consequence of his sin).1TIM 6:12,
Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist "Eucharist" to the rest of us is called the Lord's Supper or communion. The Bible teaches this is unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine (grapejuice not wine - Matthew 26:26-29). This was observed by the church EVERY Lord's Day, or first day of the week. (Acts 20:7). It is not "transubstantiation" or LITERALLY Jesus' body and blood. It REPRESENTS His body and blood. Try drinking a literal cup as Jesus said. Can't be done. So it represents Him, not IS Him.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago

This is how the Holy Spirit dwells in us - through the Word of God - not in our fleshly bodies.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
@jesusismyhero123 James 5:16 - James clearly teaches us that we must confess our sins to one another, not just privately to God. James 5:16 must be read in the context of James 5:14-15, which is referring to the healing power (both physical and spiritual) of the priests of the Church.when James says therefore in verse 16, he must be referring to the men he was writing about in verses 14 and 15 these men are the ordained priests of the Church, to whom we must confess our sins.
Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist I think that should explain what I said. I don't deny the Bible, or its practices. I do deny the "Catholic Church", because its practices are not scriptural.
1 Timothy 3:16-17 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist I have said over and over again what the Catholic church is doing wrong. Let me number it.
1. They sprinkle infants to cleanse them of "original sin". Unscriptural.
2. They teach that communion is LITERALLY the body and blood of Christ. Unscriptural.
3. They teach that the "fruit of the vine" is wine. Unscriptural.
4. They teach that baptism can be sprinkling or pouring. Unscriptural.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
@jesusismyhero123=CAREFUL HERE IT COMES...
Catholicist 1 year ago
@jesusismyhero123 #2. The word anamnesis (remembrance) also refers to a sacrifice which is really or actually made present in time by the power of God, as it reminds God of the actual event Heb.10:3;Num.10:10. It is not just a memorial of a past event, but a past event made present in time.two memorials, one sacrificial which Jesus instituted, and one non-sacrificial.

@jesusismyhero123 #3In the Old Testament,Hebrew word yah-yin is translated as "wine."The Hebrew word means fermented, as in wine, not grape juice. 6. They teach that the "pope" is on the level of God. Unscriptural.
7. They teach that the Holy Spirit dwells in the fleshly body of Christians. Unscriptural.
8. They teach their traditions are just as important as the Bible. Unscriptural.
9. They teach that deceased people can be prayed out of purgatory .Unscriptural.

@Catholicist I didn't mix up anything. That's what it says. I'm just putting Bible verses that contradict what you say. YOU SAID Jesus never told anyone to write. The Bible shows that He did. So who's the liar?
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist Matter of fact, the Bible is destroying almost everything that you say. No wonder you need other sources. You evidently need to pick and choose which ones suite you best at the moment. Sad. Stick with the Bible alone. It's God's Word. God is alive, so His Word is still alive. God is still on the throne. Not the "pope". Until the "pope" kicks God off, (which ain't gonna happen), I'm content with believing the Bible only. By the way, what does "pope" mean again?
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago

Catholics do not have thousands of different catholic denominations with many different beliefs.. The many christian denominations started after the proterstant reformation. The many denominations in christianity is among the protestants not the catholics

Catholicist 1 year ago
@Catholicist Notice church, not churchES and faith, not faithS. That's what the Bible says. Evidently you didn't read those. If the Bible is right, and it is, all churches can't be right doing different things different ways. Where is the "Catholic" Church at in the Bible again? Read Matthew 23:9 and explain please.
jesusismyhero123 1 year ago
