if you like tolkien's dwarves, you should totally get Lord of the Rings online. This is my second year playing it. Amazing game, can be a dwarf, and you learn a lot about them. I am a giant tolkien fan especially when it comes to dwarves.

@Drizzt24194 They would definitely have had the dwarves only had orcs to fight.The Balrog, however, was a power that couldn't be repelled by any besides the Elves, who in turn couldn't have slain it.

@REXXORDER I think the balrog was immune to physical weapons, and Dwarves aren't exactly known for their magic users, they may have some, as I think there are some Dwarven weapons that are runed or enchanted, and the doors of Durin were definately enchanted, but I think they would be few and far between. Maybe one to a kingdom. As Dain was a king, he likely had a magical weapon. I don't think there should be any doubt as to the Dwarves's combat prowess.

@REXXORDER Galadriel chose to support Dwarves as her neighbours, because she knew the Dwarves were the best allies to keep the Orcs at bay.

What comes to Balrog, he was originally one of the fire spirits, originating from the Ainur which consists of Valar (gods), Maiar (their close servants) and the other servant spirits. This explain why Gandalf (a.k.a. Olorin or Mithrandir) was the only one strong enough to defeat Balrog - because he's a Maia.

So Dwarves are really not to blame.
