Another issue which is related to this mess, is education and training. Obtaining a good college education to compete w/ India/Asia is becoming more out of reach. Most of my colleagues in India has a Master's degree. While my colleagues and I only have a BS/BA in Computer Science or an AS. How are we suppose to compete when the cost of college education has increased by almost 500% since 1985? My wife got her MS, but we are in debt paying for it.
Bottom line. Corporations are for profit. They are not patriotic. If they can ship jobs overseas for cheaper labor, they will and they are!!! I don't understand why this is such a mystery to people. The purpose of tax breaks to corporations is to create jobs and help the economy in America. At least that is what we are told. Obviously we've been lied to. I work in the banking industry in IT. More than half my colleagues are either in India or some part of Asia.
Has anyone stopped to think that maybe these companies that made these job cuts aren't hiring back because they realize that they can run just as good without those people? It's gonna be hard to recreate those jobs when they are realizing that they can do it with less. It's also hard to create jobs when big companies are moving over to India and hiring there on the cheap. At this point I hope any President can figure this out and make a change.

the problem is that the education system is not suitable for most of us because the learning enviroment is where we are likely to end up... if we start out learning how to work in a factory then by the time we are old enough to command a resonable amount of workers the new one gets built to the apropriate specification... the ones who have been there for 30 years or close to it are now so irritated with the enviroment that the new one that they can now design will last for many centuries.

@quickpickandthick You know assassination is a crime right? And occupying foreign land without declaring a war is unconstitutional. Yet, somehow no one wants to mention anything about that. What about actually capturing Bin Laden, charge him with the murders, find him guilty, execute him in front of all the families who lost their lives from 9/11? So now the president can assassinate an enemy without a trial and perhaps pass a bill called "the enemy clause" just to justify what he did.

Only reason why the currency is worth a damn is because people still believe that it does. When foreign investors stop demanding the dollar, our paper bills will be worth as much as paper. If the currency is backed with gold, it will retain some value. Like you can go to a bank and get gold with your currency. Which means less inflation, or probably no inflation at all.

If your parents aren't necessarily legal, but you were born here, he wants your citizenship denounced, and he also entirely rejects regulation and protectionism of the economy. He wants to abolish the fed, which will decrease inflation. He wants to cut a lot of useless programs and end the wars which will save trillions of dollars and fix the budget. He wants our economy to be determined by the free market, not government manipulated by the feds. And no income taxes!

The whole reason we are in a recession is because of DEREGULATION. The executives kept exploiting loopholes and giving themselves pointless bonuses. the problem is that the education system is not suitable for most of us because the learning enviroment is where we are likely to end up... if we start out learning how to work in a factory then by the time we are old enough to command a resonable amount of workers the new one gets built to the apropriate specification... the ones who have been there for 30 years or close to it are now so irritated with the enviroment that the new one that they can now design will last for many centuries.

If you cant find what you are suited for then you are going to have to consider going somewhere else. There are many types of Jobs and i know that everyone has a special skill. For instance, I wish he would use some muscle and increase taxes/stop tax breaks for corporations and people that continue to hurt the economy. He compromises just enough that no one can implement any strong measures to correct the problems you mention (I agree that those problems exist). If something you believe is wrong and you believe compromising provides a better solution then you should compromise, but if you compromise because you want to be elected again then it is wrong. Sometimes a president needs to make a decision that results in winners and losers, withdrawing troops would benefit Americans but not the military industrial complex.
