It is taught in russian schools to assemble and disassemble AK-74 (AK-101 in our school).
Those weapons have plugs in the barrel and gas chamber, so you can't shoot them, but you can train to service it.
And i'm not kidding, i graduated from school in Moscow. The class is called "basics of a safe living".
In this class we also learned about bombs, nukes, chem. weapons, self defence basics, and stuff like how to escape from a burning building or safely get out of the woods and stuff
