  • Honestly I have both a new and old hp latop and both run very cool, compared to Dell's and Alienware i've worked on the past...

  • That is loud holy moley !

  • This is freaking retarted

  • How do I check the CPU/GPU operating temperature? I have the HP Pavilion dv6. Great video by the way.

  • @mashoutman Hi, it is very simple. there are tone of useful softwares oout there. Here is what i've been using. one of them is called SpeedFan and the other is EVEREST (Ultimate edition) by Lavalys Inc. Speedfan seems to be my favorite. i had to use two softwares just to acquire more accurate result. hope that answers to your question. thank you.

  • You did a perfect job for a first try, and I like your laptop, very nice.

  • @DVDandBluRayExtras2 thank you for your compliment!!

  • fuck, my fan stopped working. I have to fix it too but hell i don't feel like it...

  • Can you please recommend me places where I can buy replacement heatsinks for laptops? I have the HP Pavilion dv6-4007TX. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • @FTnest Hi! i bought mine from online HP part store. if you look at the vid description slot. i've posted a link where you can find appropriate parts by serial or product number located at the bottom of your laptop. it will probably cost you around 50 to 70 bucks. okay? good luck!

  • @speedliteXY Thank you so much! =)

  • whats the song name

  • @jayxunned hey~ songs are "Hello" by DonaWhale / "I'm in love" by Ra.D thanks.

  • My hp is over heating how do i know if the fan is working or not or just needs a clean ? in this video you didnt replace the fan justed cleaned it ? also you should have shown in more detail taking off the fan part and putting it back on , but other than that good video

  • oh my god NOBODY USE THAT COTTON WOOL ON A STICK EAR CLEANER. VERY BAD!! the micro fibers break off and prevent the heat from being conducted through the paste. don't use anything oil based (that includes our naturally oily fingers) or a tissue or rag because again its more things that interrupt the heat conduction

  • @unknownplayer03

Thank you for your comment. you are so right. during the operation, ive realized i shouldn't have used cotton for such a sensitive surface, so for the GPU chip i broke off the cotton wool from a stick then applied paste. so PEOPLE!! please note this. i apologize and please bear with my faultiness. thank you.

  • my computer goes up to 120 most of the time

  • Hey man, i just took my dv600 apart yesterday, cleaned it up and assemble everyhting back. I check the cpu and graphics card temp and the temperatures are considerably lower but when i start doing some serius tasks the laptop suddenly shuts down (thing that have never happened before in my laptops' 3 years of life) ive done some research and the shut down might be caused by overheating of the hard drive. I didn't renew the thermal paste, Could this be the cause? does the vent also cools the HD?

  • @fakedalailama hey. ok, let's just assume that you've clean a fan and heatsink thoroughly. (not necessarily important, but by taking a fan/heatsink component apart and removed every dust that hidden between its filter) ,also you have checked and tested fan including other components and assured that there isn't any malfunction before you call it's done. There....

  • @fakedalailama .... are few possibilities i can come up with... perhaps it is a windows causing the sudden shut-down, not a hardware. perhaps, you are blocking the vent while your laptop is in use. use an anti-virus software to clean unnecessary stuffs and check for window updates frequently. if you haven't reinstalled the windows for 3 years i strongly recommend you to do so by using the windows restoring CD from HP. it will freshen up your laptops brain.^^ hope that helps a little. thanks

  • @fakedalailama had the same problem, i had to reapply thermal grease . now everything works nice 24 degrees celcius on idle :d and max 50 on full load

  • Would ya like to share the name of the song?

  • @MDCB88 hiya~ it's called "I'm In Love" (Piano RMX) by Ra.D. thanks.

  • im only 12 my laptop is doing that but my dad says he wont be able to fix it :( dang

  • @emmahulm123 srry to hear that, mate. here is something that you might wanna try for yourself. arrange a compressed air spray, then shoot towards the outer surface of your laptop's fan. i believe that will remove unnecessary dusts about 60%. hope that helps;)

  • @emmahulm123 i have that laptop & im 12 but im gonna fix it myself so it shud b ok as ive fixed my desktops b4

  • Fucking hell, that music made me want get my nipples pierced and watch an entire season of Glee.

  • i think its a hack cause loser's have no life

  • where can i buy a fan?

  • @gongxia649 hi, if you are replacing just a fan itself (roughly about $5 to $20), you can find it at any local store. especially repair shops. otherwise, i would suggest you to get it from online shops. if you visit official HP website, you will be able to find both fan and a heatsink. if you pop open the video description slot above, ive posted a link that will guide directly to it. wish you a luck.

  • I turn the laptop on & it works good but then it gets really hot & shuts off & the fan isn't running...

  • @warrior4life21 hey bud, it would be much better if you can tell me more specifically. did your laptop's temp. exceeded (around 75-100 degree) with no software or programs being used? if so, what environment were your laptop located? it need a clean wide-open space for a good air ventilation. anyhow, let me know.^^

  • Thats nothing, u should see my HP

  • @MrRasmar okay bud, what troubles your laptop??

  • @warrior4life21:

in addition, a fan itself only cost around $15-20. it is not necessary to purchase the entire fan and heatsink component. just letting you know...thx.

  • try to disassemble, take out fan from heatsink component then check inside if dust is stuffed and jammed in air vent. if you've spotted full of dust, try to remove every dust particles and clean it. sometimes, overheating or any other problem related with fan can be solved just by cleaning the fan part.

i replaced both fan and heatsink component because fan's wing is broken and heatsink was in a bad condition.

so, it's your choice!! if you have more question, feel free to ask again. thank you^-^

  • it is an easy procedure that everyone can do. i spent roughly round $85 and two hours of DIY. $70 for a fan/heatsink component, $10 for a thermal paste, and $5 for a compressed air spray. but before you choose to do so, i recommend checking your fan first!!!(important) try this! compeletly turn off your Laptop. With a compressed air spray, give it a several short spray toward the fan located bottom left and let the dust out. this is a simple way to clean a fan.

  • Response to warrior4life21:

he questioned, "i was wondering if you knew how much it would be if & took it to a computer repair place & get it fixed or how much would it be to do it yourself kinda thing."

okay, i believe it is a fan causing a overheat problem. so, you can have a professional mechanic to fix it by paying them approx. around $130 to $170(price may vary). By doing it so, you can save your time^^ or like me, save some bucks and fix it yourself.

  • Can you make a video of How you took it all apart to get the fan out?

  • @irishfeat

i'd love to! frankly, i'm stuck in heavy schedule. final exams u know..-_-

i apologize but why don't you try this. if you look close at the description of this video, there ive posted a link that will lead you to "HP Laptop manual". If you don't feel like suffer yourself reading a manual, here is an another option. type in "How to Take apart HP DV6000 DV9000 Laptop with one hand" posted by "reply4reply" from his vid you might get some idea how to disassemble. hope dat helped. thanks.

  • Where did you find the fan and how did you know what fan to buy because I can't find the fan make in the HP specification. I have a HP DV6 1210a thanks!

  • @dopeyduk

see the description above. you should find the answer there.

i've listed links where you can find hp part #.

hope that's clear. if you have more questions, feel free to ask.

    thanks.
