hmmm i cant even play the piano, but i have one and i mess around and can play a few songs. When i just fuck around and improvise, its like going into a trance, and my siblings will be yelling at me to stop playing, but im like, fuck you...then i stop and it feels like i had just woken up...cool shit
Fascinating. I really wish to study this further. One thing I have read is that invention/creativity is a right brain hemisphere function, whilst the left side of the brain 'goes by the book'. How does what the video is saying tie in with this? Also, I could be wrong but I suspect this could have real implications in other areas. Education and religion, to name two areas that are largely based upon "go by the book/by memory". Looking forward to developing the conversation.
@heru1966 well both hemispheres of the brain are usually in sync with each other no matter what type of music your playing, this just shows the difference of nueral activity in the brain between improvisational and composed music.
@acidbath32 Left side of the brain is textbook smart where as right side is more creative... you can actually make the left side of your brain go to sleep by reciting a word over and over thus making it bored XD you will still function but probably have less restricted and more creative actions. these things are useful for artists etc to know
on monday 3-10--43 was a little girl from 6 years old killed by a bloke. she has no eyes anymore and her face is all blood. her brown hear is no more brown but grey. if you don't send this to 5 videos, she will on 3:00 appears on your moms bed and kill her. you can save your mom to send this to 5 videos.
Great to hear about scientific facts. Thanks! I wish I knew of this when doctors did research on me to understand why I always survived no matter what. Few are mentioned like not the 2 anuerysms, blindness, etc., but all docs knew I ALWAYS brought jazz music to the hospital.
interesantissimo!!!(@_@) pero que tenemos que interpreter el resultado del expelimento...? esso es la problema. por mi improvisation es mucho dificil, pues mi cerebro esta mucho ocupado para taner cuando hago improvisation(^_^;)
That intuitively makes a lot of sense. You're more focused on melody probably, and less so on compositional aspects when you're improvising. I'll be those two things composition and melody have to do with different parts of the brain. One is more intellectual the other more emotional.
What about when you are not thinking while playing? I do that sometimes when I practice a piece ALOT and then I don't have to think at all when I am playing. I find myself thinking about something totally different.
I would like to know what takes place when I take a fugue from Bach and then improvise not leaving out any part from the piece so as I'm not completely making something up, but adding jazz to it.

It means that Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are not enlightened by fixed teachings but by an intuitive process that is spontaneous and natural

Utter Non-sense.. There is a lot more data out there that would contradict these findings.

That's logic to be original you have not to call your memories nor your experience. inconclusion Jazz improvisation equals meditation.
