Wow. Ok where to start. First off the CPU in the macs are identical to your i7s. Same architecture just different core clocks. They can easily be OCed past the 975. Second the gtx 295 was a typo, I meant gtx 285. Third, who the hell said I said macs are better? Because I never said that. And if you think a 8 core 2.93 CPU, 12 gb ram, and a gtx 285 is crap, well then let's see what Your Crap box has. And ive built my own pcs, much easier to buy a mac pro and put windows on it.

omfg. Xeon CPUs are workstation CPUs, not meant for gaming. Games don't utilize 8 cores, so that's useles. LOL, I can't stop laughing over this bit. You think macs 12gb RAM is any good? it's fricken 1066mhz, compared to PC's 2000+mhz, easily overclockabe. Plus, you don't get extreme edition Xeon CPUs, so core i7 Overclocks Way more, cause of the unlcoked multiplier. And A single GTX 285 is nothing compared GTX 285 in Tri SLI. Yes, it's much easier to buy a mac pro for a couple of grand more

I don't even know I should bother. You think just because they are tecnically workstation CPUs they can't game? Wow. They are the exact same as i7s. You need to research before you say stuff you have no idea what your talking about. Just cause there is a CPU called extreme edition does not mean it's easier to overclock it. They put extreme after because it's the top of the line in that class of CPUs and generaly just means it has a higher clock multipler.

Ram is overclockable you just have to match it with your bus speed or it won't matter. So don't say 1066 is slow because it can be overxlocked. Everyone knows that 3 gtx 285 smokes 1, but that's overkill right now. Even crysis doesn't need it.

But one thing that I wish EVGA will do for the 285 GTX is to provide adapters to Apple Mini Display-Port that will be awesome and make alot of people happy especially me because i'm plaining to purchase Apple New 30"inch LED Cinema when it's release and upgrade my 512MB 8800 GT to the EVGA 285 GTX but if i want to use the LED displays I cannot use this card, So I hope evga will come out with this adapter so that users with LED Displays can enjoy using this product.

I sure hope that EVGA supplies the Apple's Mini Display-port adapters also because as soon as the 30" LED Cinema from Apple becomes available i'm selling my 3007 Dell 30 inch and getting the LED as for the 285 GTX i'll be getting that also but have to wait and see if EVGA comes out with adapters or I might have to with ATi 4870 with display-port, So I hope EVGA get their act together and make this DVI-D Dual Link to Mini Displayport adapter as soon as possible

Yeah, I agree... why does a Mac get to have 100+ frames with 2560x1600 all settings maxed (I'm assuming you mean anti-aliasing), yet an extremely powerful PC most likely wouldn't even hit 80 frames, even if you spent $2500+?

Res - The reason that Mac Pros cost so much is because they have multiple Xeon cores. Price out a Dell Dimension with identical specs and it actually comes out at $500-$1000 more than the same Mac.

Apple's main problem is that they don't have any Core 2 or consumer-level i7 machines with PCI-E expansion, otherwise their mid and high end desktops (iMacs and Mac Pros) are priced VERY competitively against Dell, HP, etc.
