This was my favorite ride in the park, I was sad to see it go.... but happy I was the last public rider :) Even if Iron Wolf hurts I am excited for it to come, I am a big fan of stand-up coasters, so here is hoping it wont be to bad!

@MBrilhart dude skull mountain was awesome! whenever i went there it either worked or it didnt but i was always excited when it was running. im going to fright fest next week with some friends, i didnt know they closed it :o

With water rides like this they always make me wanna jump in the water and swim around! When the ride isn't operating of course. This looks like a sweet ride and it's unfortunate they're taking it out as Six Flags doesn't have many well themed rides like this left. But I can tell just by looking the maintenance must be high, and the infrastructure of the company is not the same as it used to be.

Dorney Park had a old dark boat mill chute ride called Journey to the Center of the Earth and the park ripped it down for the same reason, maintenance nightmare. It was removed off season 1992/1993 after the Cedar Fair purchase. Watch my video. It was recorded from a TV program and shows rare views from the inside of the ride. I have a set of photos taken on the ride showng the cave tunnel, and the lift hill and splashdown outside. I bought them on Ebay several years ago from a guy in Allentown.

@Hailey12633 They are just ripping it out to build something new. The ride is a maintenance nightmare, so they want to get rid of it instead of fix it.

It Would be cool if this got replaced by the Dark Knight indoor roller coaster From SFGA. SFA really deserves better rides.

@neelycgilbertson Nothing can replace this ride. It's a special attraction, although I'd love to see the Dark Knight added in it's place if possible. I'll be going to ride this (and hopefully film it) one last time on June 29th. Farewell Skull Mountain. You will be missed.

@uptdc2008 The new attraction is the Iron Wolf, a standup coaster that is red and maroon, it comes from great america, and I love that ride, gonna miss it so much.... anyway, its gonna be renamed "apocalypse" and re-painted black and gold, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, say hello for me when its there. :-3

@Thebestzombi3intown4 ITS NOT A LAWSUIT STUPID! they're closing this ride and taking my beloved iron wolf standup coaster away from me and six flags great america, and replacing this with it, they rename it "Apocalypse" and repaint it black and gold, instead of the epic red and maroon color..... gonna miss the wolf so much, im sure those of you wil miss your wonderfull skull mountain in the same way, its just not right...

Thanks for posting a video of this ride. Now i know what it's about & don't have to travel up that way to go ride it. LOL j/k I would definately like to go there someday to ride it for real, and the other rides they have. I've been to Kings Dominion a few times, and this park isn't too terribly far from K.Dominion.

@wdw1hsm1girl I can't say that this really calls as being illegal. The Theme Park Audio Disney has is probably the most un-copy protected material they own. They fail to release most of it, and it leaks out onto the net for free, and then what they do release is never monitored properly. If we can upload it to Youtube, then they can play an abridged version on a speaker. (They have a shorter 39 second version)
