sketchers are honestly the worst possible shoes to own clearly if i had a choice between 90 dollar nikes or 90 sketcher shapeups i would pick the nikes you have to be mentally challenged to even purchase these

I just bought the Danskin Now brand of these and am in Love with them, I am always pushing a stroller or shopping cart with my two girls in it with the combined weight of 70lbs plus the weight of the stroller and boy do I feel the burn in my legs, cant wait to start to see the results=) but I love mine and got them for 20.00 two days ago

@Lamboracer1 These are WALKING shoes only. The natural gait for walking, as opposed to running, is to heel strike. The heel strike vs. mid/fore- foot strike debate concerns RUNNING gait only.
yesterday i walked in the skechers for a while and today my caves are burning haha.
The price in the netherlands is euro 150 wich is about$200 and at the px they were $ 79!!!! so today i am going to buy them , i will use them for walking my dog. I have read some revieuws that said you must put on other shoes too otherwise your toes get no pressure!
oh and if a shoes does the weight loss why would anybody be fat , but i believe if you walk a lot like me it will gain weightloss
@suuske49 When I walked in mines my caves was the same as yours. I do believe you can gain weightloss, only for those of us they are curious about losing weight. These shoes won't do it alone. You'll have to exercise and watch your eating habits. Thanks so much for sharing:-)
I just boaght my pair and there so puffy i loooove them <3 but then i saw another review that says that they DONT do as they say, that help you loose weight and all so that got me alittle down lol. cause i had boaght them for that =( but in te end im studying t be a preescool teacher and im after children and im gona be all day standing up so it wont be a hardship xD so lets seee f they can help xD
Thanks for the video. I have bad knees. My physical therapist that I MUST wear them at work, and just hanging around the house. He told me that his client had such great results wearing them, that he now considers wearing them mandatory. Every time I'd show up for therapy, he'd say where are the shape-ups? You need to go get them! I went on my normal walk yesterday, and this morning I woke up, I felt as though my whole body had been worked out--abs and everything. So far, Iove.

@kharmadog1 I bought sketchers shape ups in Jan 2011. I had a heel spur and they helped my heel spur so it wouldn't hurt when I walked. After a few months of wearing these shoes everyday my right knee started hurting and popping. Then it went to my left knee. It was hurting really bad. I couldn't do hardly anything. My Dr gave me a cortisone shot that only lasted 2 weeks and then the pain was back. I finally figured out it was the shoes that caused my problems.
@barbara82559. I stopped wearing them and wrote to Sketchers about my problem. They gave me a different shoe that was flat bottom and I gave them the sketchers back. It is November now and I still have problems with my knees but not as severe. I don't really think think they will ever heal. I wear a knee brace to help support them when the pain starts. I have a friend that is 15 yrs younger than me who got theres the same day I did.
He didn't wear his everyday and is now feeing the same pain I do. He stopped wearing his to. He is in his late 30's. A young man that can't do the work he use to. He says his knees won't support him like they use to. He can't climb up ladder now without losing balance. I don't understand what is wrong with these shoes but there is definitely something wrong. Other wise I loved the cushiony feeling they gave my feet. But it's not worth the pain I have in my knees.

I LOVE mine!! I'd heard reviews that they do not tone, but they DO!! Training, I realized I was working harder, even though you do get that 'cloud' feeling and the 'wobble', and you may even get cramps in your calfs! I just finished the 10k Peachtree Road Race wearing these. I felt great! Maybe it was the endorphins. Maybe they felt too great and too comfortable! I did get a blister under my big toe[black toe], which happens to most distance runner/walkers, but I didn't feel it, until later.

people say they work out with no effort. Just by that statement i conclude these shoes shouldn't be worn by anyone. A work out is supposed to be felt. If you aren't aching then you didn't do anything.

I just got mine today and took them for a walk....and I LOVE them! So comfy and I don't care if they really tone your butt, etc. The comfort is amazing! I thought I would hate how they look but I think they make my legs look great!
After a while the outer sides of my feet hurt in my shape ups. It's right in the spot I had broken a couple of years ago. Maybe I just have to break the shoes in (I've only worn them 4 times). Have you noticed any difference after using them a while?
how do they run I just got mine in 8.5 i feel slight movement in heel area should i get an 8 instead did ya feel they run big or small reviews havent been helpful online so im confused I really wanna try them as I need the toning but I dont want them to be big now and get bigger later help

Mslady41 OMG, I too have Shape Ups.. My trainer told me about these a while ago and me being a fashonista, I was like those are not cute... Well I tried them on one night after work. My feet were tired from standing long periods of time during a conference. So I went into the mall to buy my son some new shoes and the sals lady heard me complaining about my feet. She brought me over a pair, 3 weeks later and I have not worn ANY of my other shoes... I LOVE SHAPE UPS...
Nice review. I love my shape ups too! I used to get a lot of pain in my feet especially my arches, but I've had these for a little over a week now and I'm loving it.
I don't believe any of the claims about helping with fitness with these. I am simply looking for something that won't make my feet hurt, and won't give me an ingrown toe nail, after standing behind a cash register for 9 hours a day on a concrete floor.
Tip: at $125 theyre way overpriced. LIke Nike probrably made with cheap Asian labor. Labor & material for this shoe is approx. $15. Joe Montana is paid to say he likes them so half the $125 goes to Millionaire Joe for a $15 shoe. Shop around for a better shoe at less cost. Consumer Reports Magazine: they test athletic shoes & rate the best shoe for price and performance every year. You can trust Consumer Reports they dont accept ads. Don't trust big business or knuckleheads like Joe Montana.
i previously commented on this shoe when i first got it.. and at that time didnt have a good first impression....To me, they just werent as comfortable as people say, and i got a couple blisters from them. However with continued determination over a couple months, the shoe's comfort is greatly increased ... I still need to increase wearing them to test the exercise potential.. but for now i feel sticking to with it provides positives.....im more motivated to continue now than i was previously.
I was set to buy the Shape Ups, but before I did I happened to try the Avia avi-motion shoes recently released in Jan. Avia has some nice features (all leather upper, a patented archrocker and light weight) and fit my foot better. I've an avid Skecher buyer, but AVIA is also a great shoe. Only thing about AVIA is they come in one color and women's only right now. Mens are coming out in a couple of months.
@NDshopaholic I've tried both and think the toning is about the same. The Skechers Shape-ups were more comfortable for daily activities. I found myself wearing them around the house!
I just bought mine yesterday and I really love how comfortable they are. I stand 8 hours a day when I work, so I need something to provide that extra protection so my feet will not ache at the end of the day. These shoes do that job. It's just as you said. They are like ''walking on a sponge''. And if they help me tone up in the process that is an extra plus.
I really wanted the straight black shape ups, but I couldn't find them anywhere. I ended up getting the two-toned white and black ones.
@xamordax I still love mines to this day. Seen improvement in my legs after several weeks:) You can go on line and order the all black ones. Check the web site.
@Mslady41 I'm going to post a video review for these too. I really feel the work out they give my legs after taking a walk as compared to taking a walk without wearing them. I've been walking in them for several days and I can really feel the muscles that have been worked when I wake up in the morning. I'll have to buy an all black pair too online like you said. : )
Thank you for this review. I'm an RN in a very busy emergency room and work 12 hour shifts and I'm on my feet most of the shift. My feet really hurt at the end of my shift. i got these shoes recently. Unfortunately they are not as comfortable as i had hoped and i dont enjoy walking in them because i am getting blisters. I am going to try to see if i keep up walking if it improves... but as of now i am not as happy as i was hoping. :(

i bought mine yesterday and they feel a little funny. It feels as if I am walking on the inner sides of my feet and my outer sides are turned upward or something. But they said they will feel funny at first and they youll become acustomed to it.

These are nothing more than NURSES Shoes. Sketchers is just tricking out nurses shoes. This style wont be in for very long. you want some decent walking/running shoes get a decent pair of Asics(awesome shoes) New Balance are overrated and generic now(sad).
Is it wide enough? I have wide feet and I've been trying to find a good pair so that I can start walking and exercise again. I stopped working out on my feet because they hurt for wearing narrow shoes.

Those shoes are a rip off!!! Barefoot running gives you all the same benefits like better posture, stonger toned legs and also prevent heel striking.

You are welcome , problem with skechers is there is not real medical studies. Mbt are recommend by specialist.
sole system of skechers is a foam base (who can be even dangerous if you are walking lond distance in them because there is no support).
Mbt sole system has a medical certificate, many medical studies has been published.. It is a 4 layers construction with differents construction.
I am indeed wearing mbt for the past 6 years now and love them, they help me regarding my knee injury

I don't believe any of the claims about helping with fitness with these. I am simply looking for something that won't make my feet hurt, and won't give me an ingrown toe nail, after standing behind a cash register for 9 hours a day on a concrete floor.

These are not for standing. They are fitness for walking. If you stand for hours of a day, this is not the shoe for you.

Tip: at $125 theyre way overpriced. LIke Nike probrably made with cheap Asian labor. Labor & material for this shoe is approx. $15. Joe Montana is paid to say he likes them so half the $125 goes to Millionaire Joe for a $15 shoe. Shop around for a better shoe at less cost. Consumer Reports Magazine: they test athletic shoes & rate the best shoe for price and performance every year. You can trust Consumer Reports they dont accept ads. Don't trust big business or knuckleheads like Joe Montana.

i previously commented on this shoe when i first got it.. and at that time didnt have a good first impression....To me, they just werent as comfortable as people say, and i got a couple blisters from them. However with continued determination over a couple months, the shoe's comfort is greatly increased ... I still need to increase wearing them to test the exercise potential.. but for now i feel sticking to with it provides positives.....im more motivated to continue now than i was previously.

I was set to buy the Shape Ups, but before I did I happened to try the Avia avi-motion shoes recently released in Jan. Avia has some nice features (all leather upper, a patented archrocker and light weight) and fit my foot better. I've an avid Skecher buyer, but AVIA is also a great shoe. Only thing about AVIA is they come in one color and women's only right now. Mens are coming out in a couple of months.

@NDshopaholic I've tried both and think the toning is about the same. The Skechers Shape-ups were more comfortable for daily activities. I found myself wearing them around the house!

I just bought mine yesterday and I really love how comfortable they are. I stand 8 hours a day when I work, so I need something to provide that extra protection so my feet will not ache at the end of the day. These shoes do that job. It's just as you said. They are like ''walking on a sponge''. And if they help me tone up in the process that is an extra plus.
I really wanted the straight black shape ups, but I couldn't find them anywhere. I ended up getting the two-toned white and black ones.

@xamordax I still love mines to this day. Seen improvement in my legs after several weeks:) You can go on line and order the all black ones. Check the web site.

@Mslady41 I'm going to post a video review for these too. I really feel the work out they give my legs after taking a walk as compared to taking a walk without wearing them. I've been walking in them for several days and I can really feel the muscles that have been worked when I wake up in the morning. I'll have to buy an all black pair too online like you said. : )

Thank you for this review. I'm an RN in a very busy emergency room and work 12 hour shifts and I'm on my feet most of the shift. My feet really hurt at the end of my shift. One of our female doctors just got a pair and she likes them very much. I've been researching others opinions and after watching your video I've decided to get them. Thanks for your video review! Your a good looking lady.

i got these shoes recently. Unfortunately they are not as comfortable as i had hoped and i dont enjoy walking in them because i am getting blisters. I am going to try to see if i keep up walking if it improves... but as of now i am not as happy as i was hoping. :(

I bought some and their very comfortable! I like them alot but ppl keep tellin me ur legs and back r gunna hurt. But nuthung but my knees are hurtin a lil, and I love them!!!! I didnt see any results yet but I only had them for 3 days!!

I tripped and almost fell three times while wearing these shoes.
1. while doing the 30 minute workout they provided.
2.while doing some 30 minute walking around town.
3. while briskly walking uphill....

lol. wen i 1st fried mine on i loved them they didnt feel funny at all 2 me. the sales person said i was the 1st 2 put them on n love them n not wobble in them. lol. im just got them 2day n have not taken them off yet. lol.

i bought mine yesterday and they feel a little funny. It feels as if I am walking on the inner sides of my feet and my outer sides are turned upward or something. But they said they will feel funny at first and they youll become acustomed to it.

These are nothing more than NURSES Shoes. Sketchers is just tricking out nurses shoes. This style wont be in for very long. you want some decent walking/running shoes get a decent pair of Asics(awesome shoes) New Balance are overrated and generic now(sad).

Skechers Shape Ups are incredibly comfortable! I've been wearing them for about 6 weeks now and they really have started to tone me up!

Is it wide enough? I have wide feet and I've been trying to find a good pair so that I can start walking and exercise again. I stopped working out on my feet because they hurt for wearing narrow shoes.
