Surayya's simple, unpretentious style of singing is especially adorable. It gives heart to those who can't sing that well but attempt that any way. She was obviously hugely gifted on many fronts; looks, voice and acting, presentation but I reckon the most appealing aspect was her girl-next-door image and her easy, flowing, natural style of singing: pure & sweet as honey.

Rumahaeji. Hello. Excellent song. I believe Bari Bahen was a 1948 film. In one of th song scenes of this film, Shankar of Shankar Jaikishan had a small dancing part with Dholak in his neck. He was desperate for money and I believe he earned Rs. 5 for that role. That's the time when SJ were assistants to the legendary music duo, Husnlal & Bhagatram.
