What is a Timeshare Donation? If you ever wondered about it then you can just "Google" the keywords "Property Donation Group" or CALL (702) 518-8825 for more information right away!
here in spain it happenig continuasly they just change names and start again. I have spoke to people that have been done more that 10 times and scammed out of up to 90,000 pound. How people fall for it again and agin i would never know!
i just think most people are ignorant about timeshare!!!!!and GREEED of the buyers, is what ruins the industry. THERES NO RESALE VALUE ON TIMSHARES, DONT BE GREEDY. USE the damn thing, they are design for vacationing, thats it. ELDER people, are more greedy than what you think and thats why they are easy pray of vultures. THOSE TIMESHARE RESALERS ARE SCAMMERS, AND IF THEY ASK U FOR MONEY UP FRONT IT IS A SCAM.
Heres how it works in florida(SO NEVER TRUST PPL IN FLORIDA) your right about the lists, theres a billion dollar industry in fl where ppl from all over the states come to south fl for drug rehab/recovery.Theres little work that will pay enough to live on so they(meaning ppl in recovery) set up call centers all over, hire drug addicts with no morals and exploit anyone that will listen,I dont hav much space on here so simply,DO NOT TRUST ANY TIME SHARE/TIME SHARE RECOVERY.Its a lie.
Did you parents get what they were promised? You weren't clear on this. Lies is what makes any company/person a scammer (not just your 5 warnings). Otherwise you're making every TS biz look bad.
If you know how much market rate is for ur parents' TS, why didnt u sell it for them? Put it up on ebay.
OR, why didnt u and ur siblings take it over like TS r supposed to work? or do u just use it for free?? (making u a scammer)
I use Redweek.com where I can deal directly with the Timeshare renter and get good deals. I have found a 1 bedroom for $86 a night in Arizona when the same unit goes for $230 rack rate. No fees and I can use it whenever I want. For $15 a year you can use the service.
Thanks Gina. These guys are really organized. A year or so after I never heard about my money, someone called wanting money to sue the place for taking it. Yes they wanted money up front also. Now they're back to telling me they can sell it for no fee but they want $2000 up front for the title scam. All three women that called sound pretty much like the same person. I wonder if these cut throats work out of their homes and route the calls through a computer somewhere else. From Florida to Nevada
Great Video. When my husband and I went on our most recent vacation-we were hounded by timeshare sellers of the resort. I am so happy we did not buy anything, especially, when most of us can barely afford their own homes. Personally, I can't justify purchasing something like that when it only gets used a couple of times a year. Thanks
It is true, the timeshare industry is becoming overrun with these scammers who are taking advantage of distressed timeshare owners. What you need to realize is that they are telling the timeshare owner exactly what they want to hear and they are also usually very experiences salespeople that are pushing their "service" even though it is a complete scam. It is a shame, and they are being shut down left and right by government officials
I always wanted to buy a time share but have never took the plunge !! My dream place to visit- Italy - maybe one day a time share would make it less expensive but with all this mess going on yikes !!!! Very informative thnx !! xo Jessie
OMG, I know this has nothing to do with the issue at hand in this video, but what do you have on your lashes????? Are they false? If not you must tell me what mascara you are wearing!!!! Thank you and keep up the awesome videos!!! :)
This reminds me of the time where my parents signed up for this thing where they say you'll get more money to pay for your child's college. They ended up losing their money. :/
so sad hearing about this, especially as your parents were hit by this. I am sure your video will help ppl avoid this. Great video and so thoughtful of you. xxxx ps love the cat eye, so sultry.
Hi Gina, I think it's nice that you have out this warning. However, I own a timeshare and I don't see how anyone could even fall for any of the things you mentioned regardless of age.
And most timeshare are not worth anything now or after you buy them. But one needs to research and be smart about what they are buying, where, and with whom. We bought ours pre-construction 5 years ago and it's actually worth the same now even with the bad real estate. It's not for everyone though. :)
@MissCrystalMakeup See, the thing is, most people who are falling for it are elderly/seniors who can't run a computer, or are too darned stubborn to, to be able to research, and on top of it, desperation puts you not in your right mind. Not to mention, one of the latest scammers to try my parents have an A- BBB rating, so they're getting pretty good at trying to show they're legit. Otherwise, I'm not really sure why my parents fell for it. my mom is very frugal and good with money.
We've enjoyed our timeshare; they're not all bad, but one does have to be careful. We've had some great experiences with our family though, so can recommend them in general.
I think its Just SICK that people do that!! Its not out of line to say anything like this. I have call Display and what me and my dad do is when we dono who the person is unless they ask for us or whatever and they say where they are from we Say Sorry I dono WHO you are You have No display of your Name on my phone So Dont call again. Cause if it was someone important they would display their name right. Its a Bit Fishy. Makes me sick. thank you for informing everyone :) <3
it's crazy the things people do as far as scamming people, and you know all the trouble they go through setting things up to seem "legit", like, they put all this effort into scamming people, and if they had half a brain and put that same effort into just working a regular decent hard working job, they'd prolly be making some good money just doing that. It's ridiculous. I don't own a timeshare or anything, but I didnt even know there were scams for that, it's good to know, thanks for posting!
I got a call about selling our timeshare or if we had points that we weren’t using. I just hung up. I thought how the heck would this man know we have a timeshare?
GBW ~ How horrible and I'm sorry your parents got scammed. As I've gotten older I've learned to be a skeptic and am suspicious of most people until I have the time to evaluate them. Yes, there are many awful people out there who have no souls! Great info!
it is never out of line to inform people about anything! -- it makes me sick how people can think to scam another !! this sounds like a night mare that will be on dateline!!!- good for you for explaining this==x shelly
@magicadespell56 Hey Shelly! missing you! Thanks for this! I think it may be one of those specials on nightline, soon. It's grown exponentially since the recession.
Thank you for doing this video Gina! I work as a social worker w older adults and this kind of thing makes me livid too~! Its important that ppl report these scams too! It's always good to report to APS or adult protective services! Thank you again for raising awareness!:)
On a side note I love you hair, and makeup, and everything here especially! What r u wearing on ur face? hehe..sorry had to ask.
@CalicoCatMissPeachs I actually have to agree, but if you don't buy it directly from resorts (that's a scam in itself!) it's worth "some" people's while. I don't personally own any nor will I, but understand their appeal.
I know all about this--John's mom (85) was paying just under one hundred dollars a month for trash bags--and all types of things like that where these type of scammers were taking advantage of her--she and John's dad used to have time shares--we loved them--thank goodness he sold them before he passed away--thanks for a nice video! xoxo Lisa
@janzig1 well, unfortunately timeshares in general can be a scam, so I feel mostly bad they have it and now can't rid themselves of it. lessons learned, I guess!
@SillyMando2008 I personally do not, and not sure if I ever would. I do know there are ways to get timeshares for pretty cheap and if you're mindful of what you buy and take maintenance fees into consideration, it's maybe a good deal, but I still am not comfortable getting myself into one.
@rdmlc5 those butt heads! I want to scream at them in the phone! LOL.. its so funny how their story and attitude changes once you say you want your money back. They've treated my parents horrible on top of stealing their monies.. sick people!
Gina you are such an intelligent and beautiful woman. I think its great that you brought this to your channel! I hope your parents get some type of resolution with this. Hugs to you and the Kitties.............
It truly is horrible what this world has come to. It seems to always come down to money. Money is a religion, a new God. it is like heroin addicts. People will kill, lie, steal, trick, scam, do anything. That is so horrible what happened to your poor parents. We've never owned timeshare, but my brother and his wife did, and something simmilar happened to them about 20 years ago!!! sigh, what happened to people? Nobody has integrity or values anymore:(
I worked in the timeshare industry for 12 years and have seen this time and time again. The best thing to do is to work only with someone at the resort directly. They usually will have an " inhouse" resale program or can give you someone reputable.
Scammers all over the country and its sad they do focus on the elderly.
Thanks for doing this vid. You are def not out of line. It is YOUR channel and YOUR voice and I am so glad you are using it! I am so sorry to hear that your parents were victimized by these unscrupulous ass holes! I will keep them in my prayers.
I am so glad that you talked about this Gina! It is VERY important for people to know these things! THANK YOU! I dont fall for these MORONS! They are horrible people! The amount of scammers and "evil people" out there and around the world is HORRIBLE!! <3's
It's weird u should bring this up Gina, as i was watching something similar about this on BBC Watchdog programme called rough traders yesterday. I dont know if it is the same but it's being investigated & being called a piramid scheme, I tried posting the link about the story but it just said error so i'll send it to you in a message. Would luv to hear ur thoughts on it. Thanks for bringing the subject up, in needs to be exposed. x
when me and my mum where in spain on vaycay a few weeks ago and she told me that when she was out there years ago (like, ten yrs ago) this guy asked her if she wanted to do a timeshare thing (Tho he said it werent timeshare) and she was like no i have a house here, and he followed her across the street so she yelled at him and he backed off (:
Sorry bout what happened to you - its such a shame these things happene every day x
so sad u have to start your video of, because you might insult someone...crazy! The time share thing is awful, been happening for years! So sorry to happened to your mom an dad!!!!! Awful world we live in. I have always thought those stink a million miles away. Tim and I are young but we own our own condo in Florida..heck no...no one rents it. It is for us, my kids, their friends and that is it!!! Thnxs for posting Gina...doesn't always have ot be about makeup!!! :)))
I don't think that a public service announcement (which is what I would consider this) is out of line at all. People deserve to know these things, regardless of who it's coming from. If we trust you with advice on our skin care and makeup, we should also trust to deliver us accurate information about how to avoid scams. The beauty industry is chock full of false claims and people continuously talk about not wasting money on bad products, and this is the same train of thought.
Thank you for this video. People are so evil these days, my dad's social security number was stolen and they used it to open random accounts under his name. My credit card number was stolen twice. It's amazing how technology can help us AND harm us at the same time. I heard there are devices where people can just scan your card when you're swiping it. Crazy right?
Thats awful that happened to your parents, Its crazy the amount of awful human beings out there that will rip off people that work hard for their money. A friend in one of my college classes was telling me the other day that her grandparents just got scammed out of $3000 by some guy called them pretending to be their grandson asking them to wire him some emergency money. So awful! I know economically a lot of people are in a pinch, but that is no excuse to get so nasty. *shakes head*
So sorry this happened to your parents. My husband and I own a timeshare and we love it. We use it every year to travel with our family. But I do know some friends who want to sell they ownership and I will pass on the info to them. Have you used your parents timeshare before???? What company do they own with?????
Ginabinawina99 can you please tell me how I can fix the problem with the sound on you tube videios I can not hear any thing and when I try to turn the sound up all it tells me is it is muted Help!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happened to my Mother when my Dad passed, not timeshare, just plain SCAMMED! Dad left my Mom a wealthy woman....Lets just say she's broke now :( (and even worse, this happened to my Mother from my Father's FINANCIAL ADVISER of over 30 years!!)
@blueangelsll Hi, you can go to google and type in timeshare and find sites that will explain it and i think there are some videos on YT that help explain also. :D
omg it's like we don't know who's legit and who's scamming anymore...i get these real professional looking letters for my condo saying that the state property tax agency needs me to reassess my property, etc...but then they say "pay this amount first" and then i get real skeptical and thankfully never got sucked into those...but it's a thin line and it's annoying and scary...thanks for sharing this with us Gina :)
I used to work in handling disputes and fraud on credit cards- timeshares scams are awful. A lot of these companies will string the customer out until they are outside of the timeline to complete a dispute to actually get the money back through Visa (obviously made with a Visa card). The timeline to initiate a dispute for a Visa credit transaction is 90 days and I've seen them string the process out for a whole year before the customer realized and it was too late. Thanks for spreading awareness
Never out of line-it is an important topic and hopefully we are not just all about our makeup! I hate that your parents were taken advantage of-how do those people sleep at nite? Grrr Great information-Thanks love! xox

But I do know some friends who want to sell they ownership and I will pass on the info to them. Have you used your parents timeshare before???? What company do they own with?????

omg it's like we don't know who's legit and who's scamming anymore...i get these real professional looking letters for my condo saying that the state property tax agency needs me to reassess my property, etc...but then they say "pay this amount first" and then i get real skeptical and thankfully never got sucked into those...but it's a thin line and it's annoying and scary...thanks for sharing this with us Gina :)
