Although Josh is a great vocalist and certainly has a great number of impressive songs, I fin his version of the Declan O Rourke tune a bit lacking. He has turned a warming and beautiful song of the heart into a show tune, which is tainted even further by the musical arrangements around it.

Seriously, I urge you to check out Declans original and you will see what I am talking about. The song is meant to be a simple production, drawing the listeners ear to the vocal and guitar interplay.

I liked hiis old songs way better than his new ones... When did he start to sing so strained? It is quite ok with this song - but there are so many other ones in which I barely recognize the warm and soft, but still so strong, voice from his first two albums.

It's great that Josh obviously loves this song, but it does feel a bit like Pavarotti singing Simon and Garfunkel. Somehow, you just know that Josh could never be a scientist... his hair is too nice! This is a complex subject.. 'who dreamt up someone so divine?' Who indeed Declan! I have had two babies and posed that very same question - and as unreligious and as scientific a person as I am, I am left without answers, as Galileo himself may well have been. Imagine that?

Have to agree, the original by Declan O'Rourke is hands down superior. it's his song and his sentiments, this is a watered down "commercialized for the housewife's" version in my opinion, like so many good songs when they are covered like this.

I saw Josh perform this last night in San Antonio (5/18/2011). I actually had never heard this song before. I literally was sitting there, in total amazement, and yes, a few tears were shed!

WOW! I can honestly say I have never heard anything so beautiful live! If he hadn't been singing with his back facing me I might have just passed out.

I was in the waiting room at my GI Dr. next to all the people waiting to get upper and lower GI's and for a minute I forgot he was on and when he started singing I gave a giddy little giggle of excitement forgetting where I was. Got lots of strange looks from the other people who must have been wondering why someone getting a colonoscopy would be so downright happy for it! It certainly brightened up my day! The sad part came later explaining to my kids I didn't get Josh tickets for them.
