@crazyhawk59 You must admit that James does not sound anywhere near as good live than on studio recordings. I have seen live recordings where Lars' doesn't bother to use double bass in places he did on the recordings. Also the bass is too quiet on their post-Cliff recordings. Someone played a copy of And Justice for All with enhanced bass... it was so much more intense being able to hear the bass! I also wish Kirk wouldn't rely so heavily on the pentatonic scales and throw in some arpeggios.

@douchegurl I do agree about the double bass(Lars). I have always love hearing the bass. Cliff was master at making HISbass known. I think Robert is a close 2nd. He is a better bassist than Jason, although I don't think he was given his due. Whoever came after Cliff was going to have a hard time. As for studio vs live, I have to say , for the most part, I enjoy live better, warts and all. I love to watch the guys move around as they play. Sometimes, the studio is too polished. Peace.

@crazyhawk59 "warts and all"! I never heard that before. I love that! Have you heard "Infectious Grooves" and "Suicidal Tendencies" with Trujillo? He owned the bass universe with those two bands. Check em out if you haven't. Trujillo had one advantage over Cliff... living longer. I wish Cliff hadn't died.
