...think Grossman used this particular chord progression to illustrate or explain the concept of Country Blues in his early material. This is a f.a.q - Isn´t it simply "Crow Jane"? Sure it is, even if a lot of songs in Delta an´ Country Blues follow this shape.... Think Grossman correctly refers to Skip James....
hey! do you remember, when I asked you for the name of that song? you told me that the name is 'delta blues', but no, i've found out, it's 'crow jane' my friend! anyway, great playing, and check out the original!
I like it, my oldest brother teached me how to play with a Stefan Grossman LP, in the 70's, He played this one also, I'd like to know the name of this song that you're playing (I forgot). Thanks!!!
Thank´s luckydubber1. The tune is called Delta Crossroads/standard tuning. Not all my bendings are placed properly. You can almost hear, where they disturb your ear.
hi dalet63. Yes it is. I first time heard the song "Crow Jane" from an old LP, that consists of material from a blues guitar work-shop. Later I heard Sip James original version. It is also similar to the chord progression in "Blues Ain´t Dry", though the colouring an´ texture sound much different.
Thanks guys. Unfortunately I don´t like this video very much, and I sincerely consideret to remove it. Listening to the original tune, my interpretation. leaves much to be desired. Especially the rhytm isn´t played fluently an´Grossman does´nt use bendings att all in this composition of his. Still; thanls again for the encouragement.
great tone and good clear pickin, liked the breakdown lick at the end, if anything id' like to hear you rip out more solo lines in the middle, Very nice!
I liked it. You bend easily but sometimes it gets a bit exaggerated thus you bend it too much, a shame since your bending skills are excellent! But overall I really liked it. Good stuff!
That´s for sure, kid. I´m no pro. Just a happy amatetur. By the way this is meant to be some kind of Delta Blues, a musicalstyle that appeared 60 lightyears before The world even thought of little geniouses like yourself. Have fun
- and still, jertlong. You are right. My rendition to good ol´ Stephan Grossman stink. It gives no honeur to the original composition an´ Stephans fine playing. YouTube forever.
