I have this ethical issue with music downloading. To start with, my point is, art belongs to society unless the artist declares that he wont share his art for free. Now comes the ethical dilemma . If it was the guy selling his music by the subway that is saying that my download makes living hard for him, I apologise and pay him what he deserves. But when the artist gets millions from every album already, why stop people from sharing freely ? Either be an artist, or a corporate business man.
I lost respect for Dre. Hypocrite. This whole "illegal downloading" shit is a fucking joke. It's called technology. Corporations and governments are trying to take over the internet. Just like they hijacked the free press in this nation.
4 years after this airing, The cable guy comes by my place to install modem, mentions the Driod and its wi-fi capability, Says, "man, The internet is killing everything." That echoes in my head months later. He was telling it like it is. Then I flash back to the advent of film when people flocked to the Movie house to see silent films gladly PAYING for the experience. What is the difference between now and then? When something becomes "information" all of the sudden its for free?
dr. dre is a hypocrite. how many artists music has he stolen? he made fun of easy-e but went running to his deathbed to apologize to the guy who got him in the music business .meanwhile, deathrow was screwing him worse than eaze-e ever did. however, he wont come out with a song making fun of suge knight because he is scared and has no backup now. he is a poser and is no more gangster than tiger woods.
Dre steals samples from everyone and downloading songs doesn't mean that person still won't go out to buy your cd. In fact artists make most their money touring. The record labels don't give them enough money for the cds that are sold. So this whole "illegal" downloading of music is fucking retarded.
does this mean that you would have to pay out of YOUR ..pocket? yes. But understand that the Artists has already paid MUCH more out of their pocket, spent time away from their families and friends and put more than you'd understand on the line in some cases..give us some love and it will be returned 10fold
Furthermore, BECAUSE of all the illegal downloading, the days of an artist being signed to the label..getting a big advance paycheck and being able to record their music comfortably are over. We have to scrape and claw and go into debt just to do what we love, so respect that. Respect that unless your favorite band makes money they won't be able to share their gift with you and the rest of the world..
And to all of the people who lashed out against artists like Metallica.. You have to understand that they didn't do it to punish YOU, the fans. They did it because new and up and coming artists needed a voice as well. They didn't do it to be greedy, they did it because they are big enough to actually make a difference. If I sued napster..nobody would have cared and nothing would have been done. They are just the ones who had the balls to be at the forefront of it despite what people though.
Just because you buy an album for $14 at Wal-Mart doesn't mean that the artist makes a whole $14. The store gets their cut, the label gets theirs, the distribution company gets a cut, shipping has to be paid for, packaging and duplication has to be paid for, then TAXES, THEN the band makes a few pennies per dollar on average. If you like a band so much, why would you want to steal from them? The music belongs to them, and they have every right to make it available to you at THEIR choosing
Artists use things like youtube and myspace for PROMOTION..not to give away music. What you people don't understand is that artists make VERY LITTLE money on album sales alone..METALLICA of all bands makes about $1.58 per album and that's because they have enough money to cover most of the recording expenses. Lesser known artists and bands either pay out of their own pockets to record their album or are in debt to a record label....
Basically, there weigh two major issues you've gotta to deal with. First, the Lars dude whose egomaniac approaches towards internet wane and wax in a split moment and second, there you have these Napster good-looking suit-fellows being so well paid-off by the whole steam that the issue arose. The most reasonable solution as to how I think = listen to Iron Maiden and download freely through peer-to-peer services. Other than that, have a long life and enjoy your tons of downloaded stuff.
@jamesWyndorf- his name is lars ulrich, hes the greatest drummer in history andhe thinks he shold be able to make money for what he works for, if you get music off the internet and dont buy a CD you are eliminating money that goes to these bands like metallica so they can put out another album FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT they could take every CD they ever made off he market and make you stop listening if they wanted, its all for you people and you have no respect for anyones gain, except your own.

Many aspiring musicians became popular because they shared their music on the net. Many popular musicians are uploading their videos onto YT. It's the new thing - get with the program or stfu.
@whatshendrix and furhtermore, people have to make a living somehow, and honestly, in todays society, do you think someone is gointg to want to make music for no pay at all, heck, it coest 3$ for a gallon of gasoline. people have to make money, and people like you make it hard on musciancs out there who came up hard, like hendrix who was broke, and make names for themselves jsut to be deprived of what theyve earned by creeps like you. your argument is downright foolish.

Bands make money out of performing, labels make money out of record sales.
Just because something is on the shelves doesn't mean people will like it or buy it. But when something is free people always check it out and if it's good they become the die-hard fans that buy T-shirts and go to all the shows.
you know people gave shit to metallica for sueing napster but you know the song is not finished recording the song and its on the radio it is a little bit fishy and you find out some one is stealling youre work it is prety normal for some one to get mad
I wish people who WEREN'T multi-multi-multi-millionaires would speak up against piracy. It's hard for me to care when the musical artist has a Gold Leer jet in the background.
Everyone seems to think that a song downloaded is a dollar out of your pocket. Someone discovering your music means that he/she's much more likely to buy an album, go to their concert and/or buy a t-shirt.
Anyway, support the artists you love! Buy their CDs at some point :D
i hate it when people target metallica and call them money grubbers or whatever. if i worked that hard (remember, it was also in the st anger time period, so it was EXTREMELY hard for them to even stay together!) i would be pissed too.
People here is so stupid. Sharing songs on internet increases very much the sales, even it's a full song or only a unfinished demo. People today don't just buy CDs anymore, they download the songs on internet and if the like it they go to the store and buy the album. This is how it works. And sorry for my poor english.
yes but howw many people buy the albums some of the profit goes to metallica. no albums no money im afraid. so get your shit strait buy albums instead of downloading aall of you poor stingey bastards
its easy to talk shit about huge popular bands like metallica when ur in a peice of shit band that know one has ever heard of...neve can suck a cock...its not about money for metallica....its about control...its like owning a ferrari and random people hop in it for a ride and give it to their friends...fuck if anyone's gonna drive my car and share it with people with out my permission...i own the mother fucker i can do what ever i want with it.
its better to get your songs on the radio to be known then put it on the internett! on the internett people can chose what to listen to and maybe doesnt care sbout new bands that aint famous at all, and the radio you may listening on the song urly morning on your way to your work!
go to work every day, bust your ass, and at the end of the week, watch somebody else take your paycheck. then see how much you like it. it doesnt matter what your situation in life is, rich or poor, when you go to work, you should get paid. it is illegal to steal copyrighted material anyway. if you want to own someone elses product, you typically have to pay them for it. thats how the world works. its amazing to me that people think they can have something that someone else made for free.
they do get money from selling the CD. otherwise they would be free, and no one would care. its true that they get more money from touring, but the CD is their copyrighted property and no one else has the right to give it away. its like saying, you make more money selling you home, so all you arent gonna get paid at work anymore. you can just come to work for free.
why would a band put out a record through a record company if they did not get paid? to help the recording company? a band could tour without an album, and if the songs are good enough, still make plenty of money. everyone knows that both the band and the record company and producers make money from a studio album. some bands dont mind downloading for free because they feel the publicity and resultant sales out-way the costs of giving their product away. but established artists do not need this.
They have a contract with the Record Company saying how many albuns they have to release. That's why you hear some bandscomplain about the pressure the Record Company puts on them to record an album as soon as possible.
I'm not saying the artist doesn't get anything at all from selling albuns, but it's almost nothing compared to touring and concerts, that's where they get a big load of money for them.Imagine if it's a sold out concert.
Well, they need the record company to promote them, they need albuns because it's a faster way to get more fans and a faster way of delivering the music to them, plus making them go to their concerts and so on
why would you need a record company to promote an album that is free for the public? bands also go on tour to promote the album. they just happen to make more money touring. but they do make money from the album. it is copyrighted and it is their property. therefore, no one else has the right to give it away for free or for any amount of money. how would you feel if i started giving your stuff away?
Why do you think a lot of record companies are broke and some even were bought or closed down?
Because they're not getting any money from it.
And here is the thing,we are in the 21st century...things changed, people have internet, people CAN download for free, and that's it.There's no way to change it,they have to adapt to it or stop whinig about it,things ARE NOT GOING TO CHANGE ANYMORE.There is no way to stop it.Record companies have to think something new or they will all go down.
maybe they are broke because people are obtaining their product for free. and this whole notion that because technology has made it available, its ok, is bullshit. stealing is stealing, whether its easy or not. sure, i think it is beneficial for them to think of new things, because you are gonna get some downloading, but i dont think turning a blind eye to people stealing your products is one of them. if it becomes easy for me to steal your things, are you gonna adapt, or do something about it?
Well,I don't think download songs is the same as stealing,so I can't really reply to your question.
Now tell me,why some famous people don't care about download over the internet? Some artists even said that it's okay for the people to download because they get more fans from that and more people are knowing about their work.
again, it is ok to give your own music away, and i dont have a problem with that. if you feel it benefits you (and it very well may) to give it away for free, then that is your prerogative. but for someone to take your copyrighted material and offer it up for free downloading, that is stealing. maybe you should look into the legal concepts of intellectual property and copyrights. it doesnt matter if you think it is stealing, the law says otherwise.
You think the record company is gonna pay for the studio time and promoting the record and producers/engineers out of their pocket and the graces of their heart? Think the Musicians themselves is gonna pay that? They don't, if they could they wouldn't care about getting signed to start with. try to guess where the cash comes from then.
Exactly, record sales, but Napster, the RIAA, and labels had somewhat of a case against Napster, it was profiting. Where they don't is the downloaders, because unless we make a profit from giving someone a copy of a record or song we didn't write. Its generally protected under law, as long as we didn't profit. Where the RIAA and the labels messed up, is they failed to adapt to the net, and didn't learn to use it to their benefit. So in the end, its the labels fault, not the Napster users, imo.
but taking something for free that you should have paid for is stealing. that is why metallica and other artists had a case against napster. im not sure if im on the right page with you here. i understand what you are saying about not making a profit for sharing it, but to obtain it for free, even from a file sharer who did not sell it, is illegal. you may say what you will about the record companies not adapting, it may be a stupid move, but the law is the law.
Eh, I really wouldn't put too much stock in the RIAA's interpretation of US law and those judges that have agreed with it. The RIAA really do not have much of a case against downloaders, they know it. Its why they target individuals with large mp3 libraries, and no substantial income for a countersuit, who are only interested in settling out of court. If what you said was actual US law, 99% of us belong in jail then. RIAA also believes ripping is illegal too. Maybe they should sue Memorex.
99% of us deserve to have our drivers licenses revoked due to excess speeding and wreckless driving too. but that doesnt make it right. since most of us do it anyway, we only get in trouble if we get caught. the same hold true with file sharing and downloading. if you get caught, you must be willing to pay the consequences. as for US law, you may want to look into the concept of intellectual property and copyright laws. then mayb you would put a little stock in how US law pertains to this.
Wrong, traffic laws, are crystal clear from state to state, run a redlight, and you get caught, you can go to jail. US copyright law does not address downloading, right now DLing copyrighted materials on the internet, are in fact LEGAL. And theres nothing the RIAA can do about that. How its distrubted and how profits are made and if the labels are seeing a cut of that action is the issue. RIAA Tries to say otherwise and it just doesn't hold up.
what the fuck are you talkin about "there Greedy" you are the biggest fuckin idiot ever how the fuck are they gonna live if they have no money comeing in you dumbshit your probly one of the 9 year olds sittin in there fuckin room jackin off to gay porn
maybe if all these bands didn't buy about 20 cars, 10 houses, hookers, booze and stuff like that then they wouldn't have to worry about living off of residuals.
File-sharing doesn't screw artists. It gives them a wider audience to distribute their music to. File-sharing screws the RECORD COMPANIES who have screwed us since the 50's.
That's half truth... yes, it helps artists get a wider audience... and yes, I know quite a few people who go to shows having never purchased an album by the artists they like, having the money to do so... But seeing the number of seeders\leechers and total downloads on some torrents for bands releasing new albums, and seeing the album sales not get up to the total download count, when the album is fucking excellent, is definately hurting good artists...
You're buying into the record companies' fallacious argument that every downloaded song is a lost sale. It isn't. I know many people who download to see if the CD is worth buying. If they like it, they buy it, if they don't, they delete the mp3's. I know many more people (myself included) who, if the songs weren't available online, they'd just do without, so there's nothing lost there, either. Downloading is a contributing factor to the decline in sales, but there are other factors as well.
Such as the decline in quality music in the current market, and the virtual disappearance of the music video from the airwaves. I still feel the positives of p2p sharing far outweigh the negatives.
Fuck Metallica. They proved they were greedy pieces of shit with the Napster ordeal, and then they proved it again by selling out and producing pop crap, rap with Ja-Rule, country, and emo music.
dude what if that was you how you u like to know that u were losing money, and people were getting it for free U would loose milions if it went on. so how would u like to have someone take millions from you eh??
bull fucking shit... go take an economics class, they would literally have to sell 10 billion records to become worth 100 million dollars... they maybe see a half a percent of total record sales unless they are independently labeled or are super huge rockstars with contracts catered to them because they sell millions of records... if you knew, you'd know that touring actually makes bands a shitton of money ;) unless they get fucked out of that by their label!
Economics doesn't teach you this. Ive taken micro and macro economics in University... do you even know what economics means?
There is little doubt in anyone's mind that Dr. Dre or Metalica are among the richest performers.
It's not Napster's fault that it was easier to download a song from Napster than to goto the store to buy a CD.
This is a prime example of sheer laziness and unintelligence of the record labels. If they want to make more money, they need to innovate new ways to sell music.
yes, economics is the literal study of every thing there is to buy and sell... dumbass... did you know what it meant?! I don't even think that you have any idea that your micro and macro economics courses have no real relevance in the real world, and are bullshit classes to make uni's money!
fucking lamer wannabe poser pirate! go back to downloading all your kazaa shit... stop feeding my youtube with your garbage!
wtf nub? it does to a point... how you got to up and down your post twice is kinda beyond me... but fuck, go do yourself a favor, and take your own advice... the internet DOES ruin profitability in entertainment... dumbass, you have no idea the true meaning of all this do you? 300 million downloads a fucking day and what? those downloads would not lead to a single album sale? get bent lamer!
once again dumbass, stop bringing up new shit every time you get told off and realise you're wrong... we aren't talking about selling shit off the internet... and even if we were, it would be selling it 'on' the internet...
The reason artists cry like babies is a simple numbers game, 1/4-1/3rd of all... and I do mean ALL potential album sales go to pirated albums, the topic which was originally discussed.
albeit half to 3/4s of those downloads were lost because the album sucked. Fact: u=MORON!
I'm trying to translate your poor grammar into something that makes sense, and essentially what you're claiming is that everyone who downloads pirated music does not buy the album or albums.
Show some stats instead of talking out of your ass.
Again, you probably side with the dinosaur music industry and ONLY look at CD sales (very dumb), and don't look at the HUGE increase of online sales. In fact, older (pre-'00) album sales DOUBLED every year since 2004.
this isnt about selling music on the internett!! bitch! this is about taking songs without artist knows about it or says its okey and just gives it away! its about control! if you doesnt have control over a buisniss! you may loose it
Napster, etc helped unknown bands get found and made popular bands more popular so any small amount of money lost on album sales is regained twice as much in concert sales..
You cannot stop online sharing, there are 1000's of Napster clones only good bands will ever be popular now, 7 years on and all those people have egg on their face lol
it's called compensating with sky-rocketing ticket prices

Mozart was poor as hell during his entire career, but never stopped writing music.

Everyone seems to think that a song downloaded is a dollar out of your pocket. Someone discovering your music means that he/she's much more likely to buy an album, go to their concert and/or buy a t-shirt.
Anyway, support the artists you love! Buy their CDs at some point :D

i hate it when people target metallica and call them money grubbers or whatever. if i worked that hard (remember, it was also in the st anger time period, so it was EXTREMELY hard for them to even stay together!) i would be pissed too.
heavymetalmaniac13 2 years ago 3
NO! This was way before st. .anger, it was when they were working on " I disappear"for mission impossible 2 soundtrack.
parkerman6 2 years ago 9
People here is so stupid. Sharing songs on internet increases very much the sales, even it's a full song or only a unfinished demo. People today don't just buy CDs anymore, they download the songs on internet and if the like it they go to the store and buy the album. This is how it works. And sorry for my poor english.
TheUnforgivent 3 years ago 2
yes but howw many people buy the albums some of the profit goes to metallica. no albums no money im afraid. so get your shit strait buy albums instead of downloading aall of you poor stingey bastards

Dr. Dre - "If you steal my music, I'll fight you to the death."
After the interview, Dr. Dre went back to stealing samples to make another hit record.
Oh the irony; and we don't even make money off sharing music, but Dre does by stealing it?
What a joke.

go to work every day, bust your ass, and at the end of the week, watch somebody else take your paycheck. then see how much you like it. it doesnt matter what your situation in life is, rich or poor, when you go to work, you should get paid. it is illegal to steal copyrighted material anyway. if you want to own someone elses product, you typically have to pay them for it. thats how the world works. its amazing to me that people think they can have something that someone else made for free.
mjdillaha 3 years ago 2
Bands don't even get money from CD.They get money from touring.
linegenrou 3 years ago
they do get money from selling the CD. otherwise they would be free, and no one would care. its true that they get more money from touring, but the CD is their copyrighted property and no one else has the right to give it away. its like saying, you make more money selling you home, so all you arent gonna get paid at work anymore. you can just come to work for free.
mjdillaha 3 years ago
Producers and Record Company get money from CD's.Bands get the money from touring and concerts.
Everyone knows that. That's why some bands don't care about downloads over the internet, they're not greedy.
linegenrou 3 years ago
why would a band put out a record through a record company if they did not get paid? to help the recording company? a band could tour without an album, and if the songs are good enough, still make plenty of money. everyone knows that both the band and the record company and producers make money from a studio album. some bands dont mind downloading for free because they feel the publicity and resultant sales out-way the costs of giving their product away. but established artists do not need this.
mjdillaha 3 years ago
They have a contract with the Record Company saying how many albuns they have to release. That's why you hear some bandscomplain about the pressure the Record Company puts on them to record an album as soon as possible.
I'm not saying the artist doesn't get anything at all from selling albuns, but it's almost nothing compared to touring and concerts, that's where they get a big load of money for them.Imagine if it's a sold out concert.
linegenrou 3 years ago
Just see how a band sometimes don't record anything for almost 3 years, they spend just touring around.
linegenrou 3 years ago
Well, they need the record company to promote them, they need albuns because it's a faster way to get more fans and a faster way of delivering the music to them, plus making them go to their concerts and so on
linegenrou 3 years ago
why would you need a record company to promote an album that is free for the public? bands also go on tour to promote the album. they just happen to make more money touring. but they do make money from the album. it is copyrighted and it is their property. therefore, no one else has the right to give it away for free or for any amount of money. how would you feel if i started giving your stuff away?
mjdillaha 3 years ago
Why do you think a lot of record companies are broke and some even were bought or closed down?
Because they're not getting any money from it.
And here is the thing,we are in the 21st century...things changed, people have internet, people CAN download for free, and that's it.There's no way to change it,they have to adapt to it or stop whinig about it,things ARE NOT GOING TO CHANGE ANYMORE.There is no way to stop it.Record companies have to think something new or they will all go down.
linegenrou 3 years ago
maybe they are broke because people are obtaining their product for free. and this whole notion that because technology has made it available, its ok, is bullshit. stealing is stealing, whether its easy or not. sure, i think it is beneficial for them to think of new things, because you are gonna get some downloading, but i dont think turning a blind eye to people stealing your products is one of them. if it becomes easy for me to steal your things, are you gonna adapt, or do something about it?
mjdillaha 3 years ago
Well,I don't think download songs is the same as stealing,so I can't really reply to your question.
Now tell me,why some famous people don't care about download over the internet? Some artists even said that it's okay for the people to download because they get more fans from that and more people are knowing about their work.
linegenrou 3 years ago
again, it is ok to give your own music away, and i dont have a problem with that. if you feel it benefits you (and it very well may) to give it away for free, then that is your prerogative. but for someone to take your copyrighted material and offer it up for free downloading, that is stealing. maybe you should look into the legal concepts of intellectual property and copyrights. it doesnt matter if you think it is stealing, the law says otherwise.
mjdillaha 3 years ago
You think the record company is gonna pay for the studio time and promoting the record and producers/engineers out of their pocket and the graces of their heart? Think the Musicians themselves is gonna pay that? They don't, if they could they wouldn't care about getting signed to start with. try to guess where the cash comes from then.
tw19771 3 years ago
record sales?
mjdillaha 3 years ago
Exactly, record sales, but Napster, the RIAA, and labels had somewhat of a case against Napster, it was profiting. Where they don't is the downloaders, because unless we make a profit from giving someone a copy of a record or song we didn't write. Its generally protected under law, as long as we didn't profit. Where the RIAA and the labels messed up, is they failed to adapt to the net, and didn't learn to use it to their benefit. So in the end, its the labels fault, not the Napster users, imo.
tw19771 3 years ago
but taking something for free that you should have paid for is stealing. that is why metallica and other artists had a case against napster. im not sure if im on the right page with you here. i understand what you are saying about not making a profit for sharing it, but to obtain it for free, even from a file sharer who did not sell it, is illegal. you may say what you will about the record companies not adapting, it may be a stupid move, but the law is the law.
mjdillaha 3 years ago
Eh, I really wouldn't put too much stock in the RIAA's interpretation of US law and those judges that have agreed with it. The RIAA really do not have much of a case against downloaders, they know it. Its why they target individuals with large mp3 libraries, and no substantial income for a countersuit, who are only interested in settling out of court. If what you said was actual US law, 99% of us belong in jail then. RIAA also believes ripping is illegal too. Maybe they should sue Memorex.
tw19771 3 years ago
99% of us deserve to have our drivers licenses revoked due to excess speeding and wreckless driving too. but that doesnt make it right. since most of us do it anyway, we only get in trouble if we get caught. the same hold true with file sharing and downloading. if you get caught, you must be willing to pay the consequences. as for US law, you may want to look into the concept of intellectual property and copyright laws. then mayb you would put a little stock in how US law pertains to this.
mjdillaha 3 years ago
Wrong, traffic laws, are crystal clear from state to state, run a redlight, and you get caught, you can go to jail. US copyright law does not address downloading, right now DLing copyrighted materials on the internet, are in fact LEGAL. And theres nothing the RIAA can do about that. How its distrubted and how profits are made and if the labels are seeing a cut of that action is the issue. RIAA Tries to say otherwise and it just doesn't hold up.

File-sharing doesn't screw artists. It gives them a wider audience to distribute their music to. File-sharing screws the RECORD COMPANIES who have screwed us since the 50's.
2redaces 3 years ago
That's half truth... yes, it helps artists get a wider audience... and yes, I know quite a few people who go to shows having never purchased an album by the artists they like, having the money to do so... But seeing the number of seeders\leechers and total downloads on some torrents for bands releasing new albums, and seeing the album sales not get up to the total download count, when the album is fucking excellent, is definately hurting good artists...
BaronpFB 3 years ago
You're buying into the record companies' fallacious argument that every downloaded song is a lost sale. It isn't. I know many people who download to see if the CD is worth buying. If they like it, they buy it, if they don't, they delete the mp3's. I know many more people (myself included) who, if the songs weren't available online, they'd just do without, so there's nothing lost there, either. Downloading is a contributing factor to the decline in sales, but there are other factors as well.
2redaces 3 years ago
Such as the decline in quality music in the current market, and the virtual disappearance of the music video from the airwaves. I still feel the positives of p2p sharing far outweigh the negatives.
2redaces 3 years ago
Fuck Metallica. They proved they were greedy pieces of shit with the Napster ordeal, and then they proved it again by selling out and producing pop crap, rap with Ja-Rule, country, and emo music.

What's a million dollars when you're worth 100 million?
Greed.
CLiDED 3 years ago
bull fucking shit... go take an economics class, they would literally have to sell 10 billion records to become worth 100 million dollars... they maybe see a half a percent of total record sales unless they are independently labeled or are super huge rockstars with contracts catered to them because they sell millions of records... if you knew, you'd know that touring actually makes bands a shitton of money ;) unless they get fucked out of that by their label!

Endorsements and concerts.
CLiDED 3 years ago
Economics doesn't teach you this. Ive taken micro and macro economics in University... do you even know what economics means?
There is little doubt in anyone's mind that Dr. Dre or Metalica are among the richest performers.
It's not Napster's fault that it was easier to download a song from Napster than to goto the store to buy a CD.
This is a prime example of sheer laziness and unintelligence of the record labels. If they want to make more money, they need to innovate new ways to sell music.
CLiDED 3 years ago
yes, economics is the literal study of every thing there is to buy and sell... dumbass... did you know what it meant?! I don't even think that you have any idea that your micro and macro economics courses have no real relevance in the real world, and are bullshit classes to make uni's money!

wtf nub? it does to a point... how you got to up and down your post twice is kinda beyond me... but fuck, go do yourself a favor, and take your own advice... the internet DOES ruin profitability in entertainment... dumbass, you have no idea the true meaning of all this do you? 300 million downloads a fucking day and what? those downloads would not lead to a single album sale? get bent lamer!
BaronpFB 3 years ago
Just get off the internet. If your pea brain can't comprehend the potential of selling music online; theres no hope for you.
Even my grandma, 71, realizes that theres a lot more money in selling music online than ever possible in the history of music distribution.
You're dumb like the rest of the dinosaur music industry.
Its not the listeners fault that they are only downloading a song or two from an album -- tell the artists to make better albums!
Instead, artists just cry like babies :'(
CLiDED 3 years ago 4
once again dumbass, stop bringing up new shit every time you get told off and realise you're wrong... we aren't talking about selling shit off the internet... and even if we were, it would be selling it 'on' the internet...
BaronpFB 3 years ago
I'm trying to translate your poor grammar into something that makes sense, and essentially what you're claiming is that everyone who downloads pirated music does not buy the album or albums.
Show some stats instead of talking out of your ass.
Again, you probably side with the dinosaur music industry and ONLY look at CD sales (very dumb), and don't look at the HUGE increase of online sales. In fact, older (pre-'00) album sales DOUBLED every year since 2004.
Waaah music industry is poor :'(
