The tower is for the marching band. They use that parking lot for practice. It is so the band director can see the whole picture to see how it will look from the stands.

Looks like a truck stop to me. It is on a semi's flatbead and there are other trucks.

those towers are used for cheerleading and football etc. They had them back when i was in high school.

Okay, the guard tower, observation platform, was at the high school. Why would a military vehicle be parked at a cemetery? Was a soldier being buried there? Was there a military style burial going on? Why wasn't any military personnel around so someone could ask questions? I'd still like to know WHY an observation platform is so necessary at a high school.

I did some travelling and on I-75 S. last Tuesday at about 3pm I saw the exact same style truck - completely tan with a guy driving it wearing a desert style gilligan hat. It had markings on the back like ABN-943 or something. I took a pic of it with my camera from the back but couldn't get one while passing it. Same exact brown truck. WTF.

I am just kidding but first reaction was a guard tower next to the high school where they will incarcerate people and have makeshift hospital rooms for the Ebola they spray over the city and then the burial will be right next door.

One thing to point out though is that this is the cit of Houston. So when things start to go terribly wrong we can certainly expect a proactive response from the community. The people here, being Texans, just aren't going to allow some things to go on that would happen in other places. Plus all the experience of prepping for hurricanes makes the population here better able to deal with disasters than folks elsewhere.

Sometimes high schools need towers like that for marching bands... Basically it allows the conductor to get up above the band and have an aerial view of the band and shout instructions from a good vantage point. However, the structure in the vid doesn't particularly look like it's made for that purpose.
