How do you learn a language?

Its your exposure, not your schooling that teaches you a language. In South India, Bengal etc. there is a well developed and popular music and movie industry, so people are not that exposed to Hindi movies and culture. In Gujarat, Maharashtra etc. the film and music industry hasn't reached high levels of popularity. There are great movies in Marathi but they lack exposure. So don't blame South Indians for not knowing Hindi, they only learn it in school, nowhere else

@ABCDPQRSXYZ1234 YES, he is able to speak and understand HINDI. He is an Indian. Hindi is the national language. Every hindustani should / MUST speak hindi. If Raj Thackeray can express himself better in his own language: VERY GOOD. NO PROBLEM. In Tamil Nadu, Karnatak, Kerala you feel the problem as hindi speaker. They simply ignore you. There are many places in India where Indians refuse to speakin Hindu to fellow Indians. IT IS A BIG SHAME . / DR.JPS from France.
