  • interesting that their video shows the car cruising with a lot of yaw, wonder how the ride feels.

  • @ojmaliuanag We've heard nothing in the way of complaints from customers so far and as a group we have driven the Sonata tens of thousands of miles and it hasn't been mentioned. I do see what you are referring to though in the video. Thanks for the comment!

  • @Worldhyundaimatteson haven't been in a hyundai ever but this design has peaked my interest, I only notice the yaw because i am very particular with ride comfort given that I'm from the philippines where the moon would probably be a smoother surface and i haven't been i a non-european that rides like a european car and maintains the same level of comfort even after 4 years. so seeing a NEW vehicle showing slight yaw made me wonder how it will drive down the line.

  • @ojmaliuanag go take a test drive. My friend turned in his accord and said the ride and handling was much much better.

  • can this car be opened from a fingerprint and start the engine wihtout hving the key inside the car

    plz answer me

    (^_^)

  • you sound like Barry O'bama.

  • probably the greatest sedan on the road today. its INSANE that its offered under 20k!

  • the 2012 Camry will be even better than this, like what the '07 Camry did to the '06 Sonata :\ Dont get me wrong Hyundai is getting their game but someone out there usually will do something better.

  • DAMN!! when i first saw this car from a distants a few months ago...i thought it was a new mercedes or so....then when i look closely...*WTF* its a Hyundai!!! This car is the only hyundai that takes my attention and made me a hyundai fan. before that...i always thought...Hyundai? more like Hyun-die.

  • These automobiles are something special. They are raising the bar. Hyundai has brilliant designers and innovators and we continue to raise the bar in auto production and service. Thanks.

  • Sweet

  • Memorial Day was the perfect time to get the Sonata..I picked up my baby Tuesday (2011 Sonata GLS-Silver Color) ..I was deciding between the Sonata and the Camry..The Sonata won me over..I get compliments from everyone..family and friends love it..my husband loves it..sexy interior/exterior..smooth ride!!..sexy car!..great price!!.. $192.56 month with Tax!!!

  • Hyundai never will tell u this disaster watch?v=svOnzJaegG4

  • passat CC.

  • Toyota Camry look alike...

  • @pyeon But that's sort of the point though. It's like lexusES359h says, "if you cover up the hyundai logo..." not too many people would credit Hyundai. I never believed that Hyundai designed bad looking cars, even by the standards of 20 years ago. The problem for Hyundai up until now was quality. Either way you'll have to admit that this latest model of the Sonata is a major step up for them. And it's about time. Better yet it is their time.

  • The new Sonata looks like a beauty

  • i saw that they are puting the 2.0t on this sonata too

  • does this come in awd?

  • cus korea is good like that

  • looks like a car from 2030

  • I have a 3 week old 2011 SE in Pearl White. Every time I walk toward it, my heart beats a little faster. Every time I'm walking away from it, I can't help but look back 3 or 4 times. The thing is amazing and looks like a million bucks. Sometimes I feel like I need to explain myself to co-workers because they look at me like I've been embezzling funds.

  • Pay attention: New hyundai Sonatas engines rattle very much due to made from Aluminium

  • Yeah i'd like a turbo charged 274hp i4 for my family too.

  • I'm surprised Hyundai is going so well...couple years back, Hyundai was a joke, but damn....

I can't wait for the future of Hyundai cars.

  • This sonata makes 200hp / 35 MPG with Regular gasoline. But in real driving, ppl says this makes 40MPG on highway easly. The best in class both MPG and power.

  • if you covered the hyundai logo and got people to guess what auto maker manufactured it, i bet nobody would've guessed hyundai! they've improved... A LOT...

  • @lexusES350h Yea, no kidding. Compared to their 1980s and early 1990s models, Hyundai is movin' on up!

  • @lexusES350h ,Exactly.Hyundai rise is indeed astonishing.they just keep getting better.

  • i just test drove it today, it was amazing!!!

  • i like the style

  • @chicorompecabesa The sidelines are really sharp!

  • This really isn't a review of the Sonata, but rather an overview. Either way, it looks like a nice family sedan.

  • 200hp on regular or premium? 35mpg sounds unlikely

  • @allstarhs look at this pls comment if can help thanks watch?v=V71o5golqf4

  • its also a hyundai

  • @allstarhs no that's the maximum fuel efficiency you can get outta this engine. the real MPG figure would be a little less than that.

  • @allstarhs On regular!

  • @allstarhs direct injection=HUGE improvements in power and fuel economy

  • @allstarhs this due to GDI system that was copied as usual from Mitshubishi

  • @allstarhs this due to hyundai copied GDI system from Mitsubishi

  • @allstarhs If we take into account the previous experiences (previous Sonata), they also said 'no more than 8l/100km in Europe for MT 2.4 Sonata and they are unable to get less than 14l/100km. Hyundai also has problems with this and there are thousands of complaints for false information. Sorry for disturbing

  • @DtorBill

Thanks for the information, however fuel economy depends how you drive, the road conditions, etc, etc.

In a very busy city, the car is more likely to get more fuel. If you are doing 130km/hr on an high way, the fuel economy goes up appr. 25% than if your doing 100

On my Hyundai, I was easily able to get less fuel by making an effort in using the brakes less, and driving 90-100km/hr

  • @MUSlC1213 Yes, you are right, it depends (mostly) of the driver, but the problem is... they show off about that consumption while it's impossible to get it. Anyway, Thank you for your polite attitude, at least you are realistic. Although I have a question? 'Using brakes less'? I don't get it. There is not relation between consumption and 'brakes' except if you on slopes or hybrid cars.

  • @DtorBill

If you gradually reduce speed from a 100km/hr zone to a 60 zone, without using the brakes, you would be using less amount of fuel than if you hit the brakes, because all the time you've been stepping on the gas pedal would have counted for nothing, when you hit the brakes...

  • @MUSlC1213 Yes, you are right... that's called 'engine brake', but the questions is the actual performance of the questioned engine, which is not as efficience as they say. Anyway, a greap pleasure... We talk tomorrow, I need to rest

  • @DtorBill

No, Im not talking about an engine brake. I'm talking about the unnecessary urge to keep your foot on the gas pedal when you see a stop sign a mile away, when you can lift your foot off the pedal and come to a gradual stop.

The less time your foot spends on the gas pedal- the more fuel you save.

  • @MUSlC1213 I'm not agree... that doesn't save fuel at all, but the engine brake which makes 0.0l/100km if you use it (good trick)

Sorry but I won't write anymore here. I don't want to give views to these videos and people is using that tactic to make more fake-views. We can talk in any other video if you like

  • It has electronic parking brake? I thought it was foot operated

  • Check back soon for "real life dimensions". We have some big boys at the store and we will let you know how they fit. I agree that Hyundai needs to keep "size" in mind as they continue to build out the product.

    Thanks for the comments!

  • Well, are you calling european people not as tall as NorthAmerican people?? Dude, this car is also designed to be sold in Europe. But the difference remain in European and Asian people is not FAT, or at least the fat population is not as numerous as in US where everybody eats fast food and very unhealthy microwave meals. This car is OK! Being tall is not problem for this car, but if you are FAT at the point you dont fit in a car, do yourself a favor and get medical help!.

  • Way to stereotype...

  • 6' 225lbs is NOT avg. dimensions for the American male. Try closer to 5'9" and 170. The only people who will find this car cramped are of LARGE dimensions, either height and/or width. This Sonata is larger than my Optima, and my Optima holds 4 avg. size Americans quite comfortably with loads of head and leg room. My huge 6'4 supervisor even fits fine without his head rubbing the ceiling or knees on the dash. Of course the largest examples of people will be cramped in anything but BIG cars.

  • The car is considered by EPA a large car so what are you talking about? It has the largest interior in its class. If this interior was for tiny people other cars must be made for microscopic organisms.

  • beautiful car! looks better looking than accord and camry but i got to see it in person soon.

35mpg is quite amazing for a car this size, i think ithe camry hybrid also get 35mpg but its a hybrid and this hyundai is not, can't wait to see what the sonata hybrid offers later this year when it comes out.

  • We're excited for this one to come out too! I love the line that runs along the side exterior of the car! And yes, 35mpg is pretty amazing for not being a hybrid vehicle! Hopefully we'll have some here within a month or so.
