a fascinating and learned perspective on magick, I am a little surprised and pleased that it is so nearly congruent to my own. I am curious as to what you might say about the nature of chaos.
Im sure there are other words in other lanuages that would equal both meanings of spirit and mind.
But multiverses and shit not so necessary.
Its just more honest to say man can anthropomorphise any aspect of nature and it works best when done that way everything else is just random ass speculation and just gets messy.Plus its not much fun if your doing magick and you dont get to talk to shit thats not there physically. If it aint scary it aint real.
Good video. My idea is similar: that the multiverse is the world of everything imaginable (an extension of Max Tegmark’s mathematical universe hypothesis). Magic is our ability to explore this multiverse with our minds. Magic and imagination are identical, and so perhaps are consciousness and the multiverse itself.
Excellent! Jason you have an amazing gift of taking those things that are intuitively known as well as experienced and expressing them with words, which is a difficult task when dealing with the phenomenon of magic.
P.S you slam the sigil system, alas, why? The foundation of MANY systems, not just Chaos Magick my nigga. Anyways, good to see your beards grown n your still kicking.. paz y respeto homes...
Good job hotdog..love The Nightside of Eden was pretty good as an introduction to metaphysical thought to me. The 4th Book of Crowley also an excellent book, of many of his excellent books. Why does Chaos Magick not appeal to you King Ding a Ling? Plus we all know the black chicks gots booty but those Chinese girls are hot too.
@calligraphish Satanic? Not per se. Crowley's Book Four + Aquino's Black Magick in Theory and Practice gives you a good start. After that, you can branch out into the works of Roger Williamson, Kenneth Grant, and Michael Ford, each of whom is wildly different from the others. Chumbley is awesome, but not suitable for even intermediate practitioners. Some people find the works of Pete Carroll to be good intro books, but I'm not a fan of Chaos Magick for beginners (see DF's comment below).
@andy32capp Not everything true can be proven (Godel) and not everything provable is true (validity vs. soundness). It *is*, however, an accepted interpretation of Quantum Mechanics. I have other reasons for accepting it as well, but these might necessitate another video . . .
Excellent video. There's an old Persian Poet's quote: "Who hath
the How is careless of the Why." This is why I love it when people like you or Michael Aquino or even Anton LaVey go into the inner mechanics of "How" Magick works. I myself (being the 'F00L' that I am) take a DRASTICALLY simpler approach (Keep It Simple Stupid K.I.S.S.) which is A) Don't knock it until you try it and B) If it works or 'jives' then great! If not, move along. In this case the How takes a backseat.
@DarkF00L Another part of what I'm trying to say is this: One does not need to know HOW a car works. What one DOES need to know is HOW to put the key into the ignition and HOW to work the gas and break pedals. Not everyone drives the car in exactly the same way. (angry drivers vs. safe drivers vs. "DUHHHH" drivers, etc.). However, the more one knows about cars and automechanics, the more empowered one can become, the faster and more powerful the results will be!
This subject fascinates me. Does magick require belief to work? Can one do magick without intending to? How can you tell if it is magic or just the natural course of events? Sounds to me like just a different way of looking/percieving/reflecting on things. Isn't magick just a way of explaining what happens filling a gap where information is lacking?
@concord327 Not all belief is conscious, and one could make an argument that the most potent reservoir of transfer is to be had in the subconscious/unconscious. Jungian psychology would certainly buttress such a view.
Magick IS a natural course of events. The word "supernatural," though evocative, is vacuous. Check my blog on SIN dealing with this. As to filling in gaps, that depends on what you mean. All perception operates by just such a mechanism, yet we accept a conjoined world anyway.
@concord327 to you? No. The very best I can do is point you towards something that you may find useful. And if you don't, I offer you nothing but well wishes . . .
Dude, when are you going to do a video on something relevant? Like economics or current events? Something in the REAL and not all of this metaphysical WHAT IS MAGICK bullshit?
@TheManiacalSatanist6 I'll probably do that (whatever "that" is) the minute you get a job.
Economics and current events (e.g. the debt ceiling fight) are so corrupted with BS that I'd rather not. Even goons like you can't see that single payer would mean less expenditure on HC. The more complex you make a system of monetary gain, the more superfluous windfalls you create thereby. Irony being: you are your own worst enemy.
@jason666king Saying that single payer would reduce healthcare costs proves you're an idiot. You've already tried to make this case, and you've already been pwned on it in more places than one.
@TheFailTroll: Why do exorbitant "prices" persist in the HC field (e.g. $100 rolls of toilet paper)? I would argue an artificial third man combined with not spreading risk as widely as it should be for minimization of cost. But if I did that, I would off-topic for commenting on this video . . .
@jason666king You realize that you were off-topic commenting in your first response right? So basically you completely fail anyway?
And if Single-Payer works so well, why the fuck are the people who practice that shit having to RATION *yeah that word that you think is a political scare tactic but is economic reality* healthcare!? You also think that the government should do education, but if that shit works so well, why the fuck is the UK about to lose 1/3rd of it's public schools?
@jason666king This is what happens when you spend your time exploring false alternate realities and convoluted metaphysical nonsense. You have next to no capacity for logical thought outside of some self-constructed reality that you think you're living in. You can't/won't deconstruct data to determine it's validity, and you refuse to research anything outside of the fucking YOUNG TURKS.
Reality is absolute, unchangeable, undeniable, and the reality is; you're a sheep. Get over it.
@TheManiacalSatanist6 Ken...The Absolute must contain the principle of relativity. If Reality is unchangeable IN EVERY RESPECT, what is evolution and transformation?
@02Blackbeard Have you not figured out yet that humans are completely incapable of perceiving reality to such an extent that we can fully understand and change it? REALITY IS, you don't need to know anything else. We can't change it, we can't understand it, but it's there. Leave it alone.
@TheManiacalSatanist6 I disagree....Reality is not unknowable, but rather incommunicable to the sheeple, (those who are "outside" the gnosis). There are many things which I can change Ken. And in changing one thing, many things are changed.
@02Blackbeard Dude, I refuted this in my last response. Our perception prevents us from knowing anything about reality other than 3 things. Reality is absolute, unchangeable, and undeniable. FACT. The rest of the garbage you're spewing has no basis and no evidence. SO, since we can't know any more than that, leave the subject of reality alone. You're wasting your time examining bullshit when you're completely incapable of applying to anything other than some fallacious metaphysical construct.
