  • I'm about to cry at her shocked reaction when there's a standing ovation(: I mean, why WOULDN'T there be a standing ovation. If I was there, I would hooting and hollering. No, actually, I'd be sitting next to her and crying out, 'I love you and you're wonderful!!!!!!!" :)

  • Lucille Ball is the most fantastic actress I have ever seen. Sure i may be a 14 year old teen girl, but I have never seen anyone as marvelous and smart as her. She made people laugh and I will always watch her show. She loved unconditionally and she was amazing. I love Lucy :)

  • There was only one Lucy and there never will be another........she was the greatest and we miss her very much. Thanks Lucy...you will always be loved!!

  • the music clip from Mame sounds like the broadway recording, not the movie. Thanks so much for posting this! Lucy is the best of the best!

  • amazing lady. never will there be another lucille ball.<3

  • ahhhhhhhhh........cuban pete. i'm not sure it was even possible to watch/hear that and not want to see them together on TV.

  • I just love, LOVE, that she had to stand back up again for that ovation. Oh, Lucy. Orson Welles called you the "greatest actress in the world." He was onto something.

  • There is good and bad in all people, she was a person like any of us, she is a legend and will always remain a leyend because she deserved it and Desi was amazing as an actor too.

What happened in their personal life is very sad but we all live situations that are sad and devastating for us too; they were just people like we all are.

Her legacy will prevail and I wish it was now a days the same simply and pure comedy not the vulgarity that seems to be what people like now a days.

  • We will not see her likes again. She deserved that standing ovation and more.

  • Great vid luv lucy :D

  • Wow I cant wait I wish i see her in heaven

  • Lucy was my all time favorite comedian. she was phenomenal

  • Why does she looked so shocked when people stand up for her? She was amazing, but for some reason never really believed it.

  • Did you ever read Lucy's book? ('Love Lucy') If not, I think reading it would answer this question =)

  • While not stellar she had a few film hits along the way. The writers could have at least mentioned a couple with Bob Hope/Fonda.

  • She held her own against Katherine Hepburn and Ginger Rogers in Stage Doot.

  • Just lookin at those clips of hers from the show...right now, TODAY, I cant think of a funnier person on tv...NOT ONE!..This woman was just MAGIC, dude!!!...LOLOL.

  • IM 25yr old guy...from singapore...the show i love lucy brought many nice memories of my teenage life...i love lucy is the best comedy in the world...lucy n desi are the best screen partners..may they rest in peace...god blessed...

  • I totall Agree with lucy 3152! Who cares if she is one? I still love her! Idc what yall say I'm a guy and watching this show woth my grandmother rocked!!!

  • Ms. Ball looked so shocked. She was an awsome comedian one of my faves. I loved her since I was like 10 (Im 22 now). She was and is the best and is the pioneer of comedy tv sitcoms. But I read that she believed that she was a failure in her career and thats sad to me because she had such an awsome talent.

  • her response really made me cry because she was so touched :(

  • THE WORLD LOVES LUCY!

    from Germany, khtx

  • Thank you SO MUCH for posting this!!!!

  • I love Lucy!

  • There was and is only one Lucy..the likes of which will never be seen again. She had more talent in her pinkie than most people could even dream about. You deserve a place in heaven, Lucy, and I am sure you are there.

    RS

  • Seeing Lucy's face when everyone stood up for her was so touching. So worth watching this video just to see that.

  • yes, I agree. Just to see Lucy's face when they stood up for her is priceless.

  • Walter Matthau...wow, the eloquence of his speech...and Lucy, eternal Lucy, one can only wonder what else, if anything, was on her mind, but Desi. He had passed a few days before this. Thank you again for posting.

  • I think Lucille Ball was an authentic person. The character Lucy Ricardo had a great deal of Lucille Ball in her, but they were two very different people. Even Ball referred to Lucy Ricardo in the 3rd person. The way she was in interviews is the way she was is in real life: guarded, frank, humorous, and eternally humble.

  • Lucille was a nice person yet at times she had t be a "bitch". She was an extremely strict woman so to speak and somewhat of a control freak. But all the same she was a nice person.

  • listen u bitch. Lucille Ball was the GREATEST comedienne EVER! Now we have all these wanna be's like Miranda Cosgrove and Miley Cyrus. They both cant act by the way. If it werent for lucy, women and TELEVISION would have no place in the world! She was the first lady of comedy. She was a bitch when she had to be because u cant always be nice, and naive like Lucy Ricardo. In showbusiness, u have to manipulate and stab some people in the back and BE A BITCH to get what u want.

  • i agree..if it wasnt for her being a "bitch" when she had to be, none of these female comedians would have had a shot in hell...and some of them don't even deserve it.

And i was thinking..her life would be an amazing movie, don't you think????? producers should get on that!

  • oh sweetie, they've already done it! it's called "Lucy and Desi: Before the laughter"

it's not very accurate, but it's a movie haha

  • lol really? i meant like....well you know how they're making a movie about Judy Garland, and Anne Hathaway is playing her....kinda like that idk how to explain it..but something where we can feel what all she went through and such like we were there. which the thing you're talking about may be something like that idk..

i know Debra Messing frequently got asked if she would play the part of Lucille Ball if they asked her, and she said, "I'm not brave enough"

  • yea i know what your talking aboutt. And debra would be such a great lucy!

  • i think she would be awesome...i just wish someone would come up with the idea, script, and talk her into it! or find another great person to do it bcuz its gotta be epic lol

  • @lucy3142 They did another one a few years ago, 2003's "Lucy". That one was slightly more accurate, but not by much.

  • I believe she was a humble person at heart. A lovely person. Thanks for sharing. She deserved recognition for making people laugh and care. Laughter helps people. It's a shame her and Desi couldn't have worked it out.

  • @mysteriousdrh i think the really did always love each other

  • wow, she is so humbled by the audience response. Thanks for posting this.

  • Aww when she had that look of surprise on her face when he received a standing ovation, she looked so cute!

  • IS THAT THE GUY OFF GRUMPY OLD MEN???

  • Yes, it's Walter Matthau.
