  • ohmigosh this is just too fabulous for words. A little bit of semi-heaven:)

  • bird is the word.....

    .

  • surf music....boogiewoogie

  • talkin' 'bout my generation...

  • i love the drums in this version :) bit faster and very rough ;)

  • I can play this song

  • @armenians100 the bass line on this song is so easy to play yet so tiring and easy to mess up on the timing which in a sense makes it hard to play. confusing huh?

  • I wish to play this song one day.

  • pioneering stuff, simply awesome!

  • Considering?

  • すんばらしいの曲 プー

  • The Chantays Original Version Of Pipeline Will Always Be More Superior Than Any Band Remake

  • FUCK YES.

  • is this the speedy methamphetamine version the Ventures did while in Japan?

pretty brisk pace guys - slow down before your hearts explode.

  • they don't even need to sing to be awsome\

  • Ventures live > Ventures Studio

  • Comment removed

  • I was a teenage guitar player and these were my boys !!! my first album I ever bought was a Ventures album. I love these guys and thank them for the memories, now if I could find a Mosrite to buy ......

  • i swear this shits the punk rock of the 60s i could mosh to this! well i have kinda cause i have seen agent orange cover it and jfa also played some surf music, it was a big influence to alot awesome 80s hardcore punk bands

  • @misfithobopunk anthrax covered it

  • @kix7711therealone nice, i havnt heard their cover yet imma listen to it now! :)

  • Fantastic stuff. Were the Ventures the first American band to make it big in Japan? They sure started something.

  • @fallspeed

Hold on... Are you saying that THEY started the massive Western-Japanese cultural mash-up with all the weid-ass fashion and one dimensional comics, not to mention the bad music with even the worse singers?

Those... BASTARDS! Don't they realize what they've done?! We must travel back in time and arrange an accident so all their instruments break before the show!

  • So, yeah, uh, this pretty much kicks ass?

  • check out Anthrax's version.

  • the ventures are the reason I started playing guitar...too cool !!

  • wow this rocks so much harder than 99% of rock music today

  • прикольно бля,мне батя посоветовал-реально круто ёпт111

  • played to fucking fast....

  • AWESOME 60's

  • i hated this verison , what a fucken mess

  • these guys completely rip it up on this version, very nice and timeless!

  • Simpsons =)

  • The Ventures smoked back in the day. They could play as well as most any regular vocal rock band of the 60s. Three albums alone - Ventures in Space (1963) - The Fabulous Ventures (1964) and Walk, Don't Run '64 (1964) are all you need to hear. All three kick ass and feature some fantastic playing and nasty guitar work. Even when they covered an instrumental hit by someone else like "Green Onions" or "Wipe Out" or "Pipeline", the Ventures versions kicked ass too.

  • lmfao , the guy in the beggining talking is ricky ricardo . (x

  • I love playing this on guitar best song in life time! I love playing the opening and end.

  • Awesome!!!!!

  • I always thought the studio version was missing something. This version has the energy it deserves!

  • Walk the nose, shoot the curl, hang ten! garrachillo

  • How can you NOT headbang and air guitar to this? It jams.

  • Fucking fantastic!

  • The Ventures kick ass! What a great band!

  • so nice! somebody knows violent femmes?

  • this song is a really awesome surf song i can play it on my guitar or at least up to 1:15

  • Wow!!! Forgot about this. (Happens when you get old) Thanks for posting. Made my month :):):)

  • hell i play this and can not make it sound this good no matter what i do

  • People, people, people! I wholeheartedly agree that this music is way beyond belief but, please, watch the language. We just don't need to see that filth in print. It is bad enuff that we get this puke in verbal form wherever we go now.

  • the ventures are awesome

  • The announcer is priceless. In the 60s recordings of various acts performing in The UK, US, or Europe it was not uncommon to hear a deadpan announcement saying Ladies and Gentlemen The Jimi Hendrix Experience, or some other band, and the announcer sounded as if he had been awakened from a deep sleep to give the announcement.. This guy sounds as if he is really enjoying the show himself, and most likely is. Also great sound quality for a live recording! Great band though and that always helps.

  • this song makes me wanna fapp and dance @ the same time!!!!

  • classic surf

  • Followed closely by this!!

  • this song makes me feel happy.=)

  • Reminds me Tarantino movies, awesome!

  • @MrSTibor Misirlou, Pulp Fiction, its all goooooooood!!! :D

  • I had to see a pipeline on t.v. to understand this song. It was an instrumental version of surfing. My stepfather played this with his friend and boy was it the coolest thing. They're two 60 something old men but they still rock. And this album makes me think of them jamming.

  • Great band. I try to make my band sound like this band. Tremolo+light distortion+lots of reverb :)

  • i have that CD :D

  • Stevie Ray Vaughan Gained alot of what he knows thanks to bands like this!:) awsome piece here!!!

  • Checkout SRV & Dick Dale doing Pipeline here on you tube. They rock it!

  • ha ha there are no lyrics

    its an instrumental

the venture never tend to have any lyrics

    its surf

  • @lewisp31 I don't know about Pipeline, but the Japanese did write lyrics to Diamond Head! Probably on any Japanese karaoke machine...

  • Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics to this tune??? I wanna sing it a Karoeke night

  • awesome! just awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hendrix said once, "this is last you'll ever hear of surf music", I was always confused by this comment - surf has and always will endure....

  • @deweypug

when i first heard that line i thought he was referring to the beach boys, hahahha! anyway, i don't think jimi was trying to disrespect surf music in any way. besides the blues i think one of his greatest influences has got to be surf music. cause link wray was using distortion way before him and dick dale was bending strings way before him. i think jimi was just joking around.

  • easy daid than done dewey, the music industry has changed...

  • Among all surf music I like the tone of the ventures the best. It's so drenched in reverb, and almost sounds "spacey".

  • The Ventures 1 of the bests bands ever for me

  • so the grimmies and the hodads are groovin to the surf beat.. in the 60's i remember ya gave yer girl a st. christopher not a ring.. but ya had to steal it from the store.. to prove she's worth the risk .. ( i think the store people knew and turned their heads a bit ). .but that was the 60's.. lol

  • 1:19 is so hard hittin'. best guitar riff ever.

  • oh my god. this is so badass. i would have freaked out if i heard this in 1965. this is like borderline psychobilly.

  • This is so fucking HEAVY considering it wa done in the 60's

    Fucking awesome

  • Exactly right...Japan seemed to appreciate and catch on to the heaviness before we did...

  • @DihColorado : Well, try listening 60's stuff by Captain Beefheart!

  • @DihColorado They were excellent and very underrated imo. We had a LOT of excellent musicians to enjoy back then....Musical talent really mattered in those days.

  • @DihColorado Considering it was done in the 60s. What in the hell does that even tries to mean? Ha ha ha LOL

  • @DihColorado This is Filth in a good good sense! Lik you say, It was done it the 60's! Raw, and never repeated, dubbed, played wit der Hearts! Musically phenomenol! what where they wrere doing, when they came up with this song...Hmmmm??????

  • hard to tell which version is better the original by the chantays or the ventures cover both are superb

  • You're right...both are the best

  • im mainly into metal and anthrax covered this which is good because it led me to this awesome band.

  • Never go back to metal again.

  • I can like what I want.

  • @theredreceivers - I find it perfectly possible to enjoy both surf rock and metal actually :)

  • lol I love the dude's terrible Japanese =P

But yah, this song rocks XD

A bit faster than I remember.

  • dig this vibe

  • this rocks!!

  • @prycilla10 have you heard the version by Anthrax from Attack of the Killer B's?
