  • I laughed when the lady mentioned Spain, which opened a large solar plant recently.

This is the country which now has 21% unemployment and a basket case economy all because it has gone down the "GREEN" path.

Is that what we want for Australia?

  • last guy said it best, "eugenics"

  • I'm going to be enjoying the global warming, spring is here and summer is around the corner. Enjoy the warmth, means more plants, and less clothes.

  • I think I understood what the first questioner was saying. Carbon 14 has a half life under 6,000 years. That David guy, forget his last name, said carbon was as old as dinosaurs. It is a little odd to find carbon 14 in something that old.

  • Too bad they didn't answer the rather important point of the problem with statistics (and computer models) that was raised by the astrophysicist in the audience. I think his point was extremely relevant but I think the program leader didn't understand it because he is not a scientist himself. We must be extremely careful here. I'm not sure all scientists are smart enough to really understand statistics. How noble their intentions might be.

  • @friendofyou I thought it was a the only important question so far. Reading between the lines he was also probably questioning the "Consensus" being taken as proof. Since Kepler went against the then consensus of a geocentric universe.

  • wow the first questioner was just a young earth creationist trying to just fling in his bullshit

  • WHAT COOLING?

    August 16, 2010

    National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

    National Climatic Data Center

For the year-to-date, the global combined land and ocean surface temperature of 14.5°C (58.1°F) was the warmest January-July period on record. This value is 0.68°C (1.22°F) above the 20th century average.

  • @philipp35a Climategate was a giant FALSE propaganda campaign. If not, show us even ONE example of falsified data from CRU.

There have been 3 independent investigations and they found NO EVIDENCE of falsified data. What a lamebrain.

Please note that renown skeptic Dr. Christy, at UAH says global Temps are going up +0.14C per decade. Phil Jone at CRU & NASA say +0.16 C per decade. OMG, a discrepancy of 0.02C per decade.

    What a scandal.

  • lol at the one person clapping and no one else joins in

  • 9 of last 10 years were the HOTTEST on record. 2009 = 2nd HOTTEST on record & solar irradiance is at 35 year low Search: Data @ NASA GISS: GISS Surface Temperature Analysis: Graphs See: Ranking (Top 10 Warmest Years) The latest on YouTube: It's so Cold, there can't be Global Warming /watch?v=sAvqabAPIr4&feature=sub 50% of arctic sea ice & mountain glaciers have disappeared in just 30 years. • Are these people fucking retarded. How the fuck will any of this do anything except help africa. We already have an insane promise of a $100 billion fund to help them.

Who really cares about africa anyway. I wouldnt miss it.

  • Yep, it's Hitler, Stalin, Lenin all over again in the guise of the UN fixing all the worlds problems. If they can convince us it's "bad "enough we'll give them the keys to our country.

  • The chap at the end made a good point, yet the people just laughed it off..

This was not a proper debate, it was more one sided, and the presenter should of stayed neutral throughout, instead of trying to act like he knows about this subject.

  • Old discussion, but still curious.

    Which chap?

The guy discussing how rome is burning and some are fiddling?

Maybe not since nobody laughed at him.

One person chuckled in a way that sounded like understands how he feels.

I mean, you can interpret it how you like, but I didnt see any other laughs to say people, as in multiples.

Last lady didnt get laughed at really.

Though the scientist didnt want to get into the touchy subject of overpopulation as that cannot be clearly explained in seconds.

  • First questioner in the clip, I dont know. I didnt hear anybody laughing, and he did make a good point

If you mean at the end of video 8, I actually discussed why he was silly to an older part of this thread if you scroll down, assuming your referring to the issue of Prince Phillip

the virus issue is somewhat harsh, but likely affected by the deaths he has seen because of what he views as overpopulation. Even then, what one might do in a fantasy isnt necessarily what one wants to do in reality

  • Wow I am so proud of my fellow Aussies! How wise they are about it all, even talking about Eugenics!

  • I loved the bald guy's non-answer to the second audience member's question.

  • The bald guy's answer: "...The world has moved on from that debate. This is a very, very sophisticated, understanding group of people who are passionately caring about people and the environment and the economy."

That's funny since most people are just now learning about Julian Huxley and eugenics and the organizations that were established to control the world's populations. The world is now coming INTO that debate.

  • OMG! One of the panel looks like Jim Lampley.

  • wow - the organisers should have really provided pen/paper/clipboards for the audience members as most of them couldn't string a single coherent thought and some of the comments are simply flamebaiting

  • YES the woman who speaks about eugenics is right on the ball! its true .. watch endgame by alex jones!

  • LOL Alex Jones

  • What's to laugh about Alex Jones? He's talking about some really serious stuff. I always wonder what it is about Alex Jones that provokes people...

  • He provokes people because he's spreading misinformation and nonsense and just because he mixes it in with some good stuff, people swallow it whole. David Icke talks about serious stuff too. It doesn't mean we're being ruled by shapeshifting lizards. Alex is a complete whackjob. He's about one step away from wearing a tin hat to stop the government from reading his mind via secret mind reading devices disguised as radio towers.

  • What is the misinformation and nonsense he spreads?

  • Saying that 9/11 and the London bombings were false flag operations, saying that the bird flu and swine flu was a scam, scaring people into not getting vaccines by advocating Jenny McCarthys nonsense that vaccines cause autism. The list goes on.

  • Ah, I see. So you believe the government's conspiracy theory, that 19 hijackers somehow paralyzed the Air Force for almost 2 hours...how do you explain the presence of nanothermite in the WTC debris? How do you explain the puts placed on the airlines involved in the 9-11 event? Why didn't the Secret Service whisk Bush away from the school? You are in Plato's cave. Alex Jones is a weird guy, I admit, but he's a brave one and talking truth, and the number of people waking up will overwhelm you.

  • Ohh. I didn't realise that you were a whackjob. Maybe next time tell people that up front from the start so they don't waste time with you. Bye bye

  • You've perfectly demonstrated that you--like other supporters of totalitarian government--that you've got no response to facts.

    You've been punked.

  • LOL. You shouldn't mistake people rolling their eyes and ignoring you with you having some undisputable facts that they can't answer. I'm not intimidated by your 'facts'. I just don't give a shit about your silly outlandish claims.

And sorry to burst the little false dichotomy bubble you've put yourself in but just because people don't buy your stupid claims doesn't mean they 'support a totalitarian government'. The US government are imperialists, yes. That doesn't make everything a CIA plot.

  • Just a simple question for you:

How do you explain the presence of nanothermite in the WTC dust?

  • *sigh* What part of I don't give a shit about your silly outlandish claims did you not understand? I'm not interested in the 9/11 truthers so called 'investigations'. But go on then, I'll humour you. Back up your claim with something credible.

Also you keep using the word 'truth' when talking about Alex Jones but didn't comment on what he's said about vaccines, swine flu or London. Are you of the opinion that he only tells the truth on 9/11 and spouts nonsense elsewhere?

  • Sweet f$%^ the audience members are retarded

  • totally!

  • Especially the first guy. What the hell?

  • How on Earth were they able to find such a crowd of nut-cases? I'm just amazed.

Btw, the first guy is probably trying to argue that the coal must be at most a few thousand years old if it contains C-14. Problem is that coal close to uranium oars (or other sources of radioactivity) will have C-14 produced in it by the radioactivity, much the same way C-14 is produced in the atmosphere by cosmic radiation.

And then you have the two going on about environmentalism being secret eugenics programs.

  • Retarded? I thought the people asking about the connection between the environmentalist movement and the eugenics conspiracy were historically well-informed. The plan to use global warming as a way to control populations was conceived by The Club of Rome as described in the book "First Global Revolution" by Club of Rome founders. Are you saying that those who are informed of these facts are "retarded"?

  • Old debate, but wanted to respond to this assertion that knowing history makes you wise, or at least not retarded.

Well, I wont call the accusers retarded I guess, as I dont know more about them.

But are you saying that global warming is a global scale eugenics program? Thats what at least one of the questioners seemed to be accusing pro-AGW people of.

    en.wikipedia . org/wiki/Julian_Huxley

He didnt seem to have anything to do with AGW, nor climatology at all.

  • He did not start the environmentalist movement, though he was involved in many of them.

He was focused on biology though, not weather.

While he was a eugenitcist, I dont see what that would have to do with anything here.

So because he was for something that todays people think of as bad, that means he is worthless in all of his beliefs?

He correctly predicted that the world would have a pop of 6mil by 2000. It happened in 1999. Hes bright, but he also wasnt for extreme eugenics.

  • Anyway, his life is about so much more then eugenics and so much is unrelated to eugenics, and while eugenics may be most connected to russia and germany, they do not seem to represent the eugenics movement of britain at all and Huxley in fact condemned the russian eugenics movement as extreme.

Eugenicists actually are right on their issues, we just dont accept that its humane to take the path they propose, or that its necessary.

  • What the lady is, is a conspiracy theorist and thats the only reason she knows that history. She tied very loose connections together.

Huxley was a eugenicist, he was head of environmental societies, climatologists are environmentalist since they are pro-AGW, therefore huxley started the AGW enviro movement and they are connected to eugenics.

  • She also mentioned the WWF, which is a wilflife fund and again, has 0 connection to eugenics.

I mean sheesh, how would any botanist or environmental biologist (that doesnt deal in humans) use eugenics outside of what farmers have been doing since the beginning of time?

ok, this is getting long, but moving onto the second guy.

I dont know how to find what hes talking about in regards to kepler and stat analysis. It was vague and unable to be refuted without research into what kepler said.

  • Since I couldnt find anything quickly and dont know how to look further into the subject, I will say very little.

But the guy seems to assume that the climatologist community only sees this issue from 1 or 2 data points or methodologies.

It does not. The reports published by the IPCC and other organisations cover a great many issues and methodologies.

Anyway, he wasnt retarded, just not helpful. How can he expect them to respond to something so obscure.

  • I also find it funny that he thought somebody would care that he studied classical under larouche. Maybe he thought that would be interesting to one of the panalists?

Third guy really was a retard.

To him eugenics only has one kind or degree and its all relatedto hitler.

That is of course without merit.

Even then, again, the connection between environmentalism and eugenics is tenuous at best.

One guy again is a eugenicist and therefore his environmentalism lacks credibility?

    Lets look though

  • So, Prince Philip is pro-AGW, but he is not a leader or starter of the enviro movement.

He is or was president of a wildlife fund which works to help animals. He is not in charge of any climate movement that I can see, though he is concerned and used solar panels on his residence as far back as the 70s

His interest in eugenics is part of a common answer to the issue of food shortage and the fear of overpopulation.

  • He feels that africas problems are in part caused by overpop and considers some form of eugenics as a possible solution.

But he has not that I see proposed anything like what Hitler proposes.

At worst, he may be for the 1 child per couple limit or something similar.

He, like that lady, is a conspiracy theorist and only looks up history just enough to fill their minds with fantasies of global conspiracies.

  • The audience seemed have misunderstood the request for questions instead of comments.
