Pink rocks
@JamesAlan051 Define real skill plz. Last time i check you don't need to be fast/crazy or even the best at whatever instrument to make beautiful music. As a matter of fact the simpler the song the better in my opinion. Floyd never made anything complicated or crazy just awesome.
@JamesAlan051 In addition to Nick Mason on drums, there is Gary Wallis on percussion which makes it an incredible rock group, my all time favorite, esp. Dogs of War, my favorite puppies!
I went and saw Pink Floyd in Denver, think it was 94. they are by far the best band I have ever seen. I could never experience something like that ever again. It was unreal. Just mind blowing !
I enjoy the intro to this video. It makes you feel as if something epic is about to happen. WHICH IT DOES! im 20 years old, and pink flyod will always be my favorite band!
FLOYD IS EPIC! I only wish i had a chance to see them in concert, with Richard Wright moving on to the dark side of the moon,I don't think my chances are good...I don't think David wishes to perform with out the Beat keyboardist!
A fair amount of the stuff I read on YouTube about Syd seems ill informed. He certainly influenced the band's existential sense of direction. But the Pink Floyd we know today (and the one Brit Floyd continues to essay for us now that the original band is retired) is essentially Roger and David's creation.
@naughtmoses and Rick, and Nick sir. Besides, Syd wrote most of Piper At...... and that album itself is just as good as Dark Side so to say that the Floyd was Roger and David's creation is a tad unfair to the 3 other extremely talented musicians that made up the band
Syd was a manic schizophrnic who was on "Drugs" for years prior to his passing. I guess you could take the paranoid view that the government is out to get us all, but I would argue that you would benefit from some of the same "Drugs" that syd was on !! Anywho....Shine on you CrAZY f'n Diamond!!!
Hate when people say stupid shit like "oh i just got high listening to pink floyd" like its cool. Lets remember syd barrent who couldnt keep shining due to drugs. The government introduced drugs to the public to dumb down people so its obvious that most people in thus world are brainwashed.
I wonder if they'll ever do another reunion tour again. I know it's not the same without Syd Barret, but Zep did it without John Bonham, so I can still dream!
@mooglepower100 Hey MP , Just an old 60s band with talentless guys like Jack Bruce,Ginger Baker and Eric Clapton ,you youngbloods probably probably never heard of , because all they did was pioneer about 95% of the licks you've been listening to all your life. In the days when LSD was legal and amphetamines came in the mail as free samples[with physicians approval] ,burning their candles at both ends , almost destroying themselves in 18 months but leaving a legacy in sound like none before.
Now if it's a full version of ECHOES you want, check out David Gilmour @ Gdansk, or Royal Albert Hall 06' - Fkin incredible... Plus it's Richards final performances and he was truly on fire!! It was so nice to see him out playing with Daviid and playing so amazing...
There's no such thing as a full version of SOYCD by Pink Floyd after 1977. David's Floyd always cut out the 2nd guitar solo! If you want a true FULL VERSION listen to ROGER WATERS on his 1999 - 2002 tour, (especially 2002) - he was only playing the entire version with all solos on that tour. Plus parts 6 - 10 complete!! By the 2006 tour he had shortened it again : (search RW SOYCD - Glastonbury 02) - that's the only version I've seen on here... - IT'S AWESOME!!
I remember when I was too busy to catch a Floyd concert... then too busy to see Gilmour on tour after they split.... now if I could go back I'd go see every one I could get to. One day you wake up and David Gilmour has short greying hair and a bit of a gut and you realize as you look in the mirror ...so do you! There may never be another band.... no, another Experience ....like Pink Floyd but if there is take the time to live it!!!!!
@RyeGood ...dead on....I saw them as a teen in Detroit....blew me away....what an awesome stage presense, show and the music was as good as any album (CD).....I was already a fan, but hooked for life after that concert....I haven't seen them live again, but the memory still lives on.....and I've never stopped playing their music...even went to England and stayed in Earls Court .......shine on you crazy diamond....
us "warriors" wanted this song, or Brick in the Wall, for the H. S. class graduation in '81 & the rich jerkkkids got their disco crap; it was a preview of coming attractions... & it seems those morons knew nuthin' after all we knew this would shine on forevr & we were right!!!!!!! exhalted, universal, classic in the truest sense of the word, this is how you live 4ever...

This song is absolutely incredible, and I'll cherish it forever - check out my project BODHIKIN, a Brooklyn based hip-hop/dub project inspired by PINK FLOYD, among others. Thank you all!
I love to put the Pulse DVD in and watch on the 102" screen (projector) with a cold one. It's like being there and can really mellow you out after a long day..
This is, in my opinion, by far the greatest song of all time. This song single handedly changed my life, hence why I got "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" tattoo'd on my right forearm on saturday!
@DanFosterIsBack I used to like more off "Darkside" and The Wall, but I think you may be right. This is just incredible Live. Most, if not all bands couldn't handle a song like this live, but they create something BETTER Live. Amazing.
@wpollock1 I hear ya, those are both fantastic albums, I just consider this to be the greatest Floyd song because up until hearing this recording, I had never heard much other than the typical mother/comfortably numb/another brick in the wall, this song opened my eyes and made me start listening to their other music. I am now the biggest Floyd fan I have ever met, its all I listen to, and its been that way for years, and this song is what started it all for me
After listening to Pulse, I realized that everyone who says that Pink Floyd sucks without Roger is dead wrong. Sure, songs like "Another Brick In The Wall (Part II)" just aren't the same, but David, Nick, and Richard still sound just as good as they did with Roger.
@TheUltimateNoob001 i couldnt agree more man. it's still pink floyd, but without waters. david kicks ass on the guitar, nick is an amazing drummer and richard has a grat way with the keyboards.
goddamn that is so sweet how the brother on the sax switches, smooth. Pink Floyd are the greatest band of all time, they deserve a Nobel Prize for their music, for inspiring humanity. this shit would make angels weep. peace and much respect from all of New Zealand
man am i happy my dad raised me to this....i dont wanna be a kid listenin to whatever is"cool" or"new"...i wanna listen to real music,so thank you Pink Floyd,Dream Theater,Between the buried and Me,Rush,Led Zeppelin, and once again(most importantly)...Pink Floyd:)
Why are we loosing so many people to the "poor taste society". I mean, music, like beauty, is in the eye/ear of the beholder. But this... this is going too far. I don't understand how ANYONE couldn't find something in any of pink floyd's works that they like? How could anyone be so soulless as to dislike this, or any other floydian wonder if given half a chance? I guess it's the same people that "like" videos by "artists" like Lady Gaga, that "dislike" pieces by the 8th wonder of the world.
This is the best song of all the time, I mean just the BEST.it`s an ignition for the PULSE engine, it starts tenderly, ascends harmonically & outshines crazing-ly!! PULSE, itsef, is not a concert, it`s a significant event in the history of art. The date October 20th, 1994 is a unique monument of music and psychedelic art. Then, the three legendary performers of the band are the Gods busy creating their hyperdeveloped masterpiece during the event. wish I`d attended it to find the concept of life

I love to put the Pulse DVD in and watch on the 102" screen (projector) with a cold one. It's like being there and can really mellow you out after a long day..

This is my favorite recording of the best song ever made

Damn... I just absolutely love this Live. RIP Roger Keith Barrett!

@TheTalkingplane If you want to hear a prime example of this, check out Delicate Sound of Thunder. Their performance of "Money" is amazing.
