If we all just interpret things as we see fit, then we collectively interpret such into nothing, which is chaos ,or hell. Such is the case in every word written in this video, there becomes no base for which to derive anything, it is just self-satisfying conjecture, much like the your mis-used quote from Swedenborg. You have also reduced yourself to name calling without explanation in order to defend yourself. I assert again that you are no authority on religious matter.

@rsjaa Your entitled to your opinion. I have been reading Swedenborg since 1991 and have covered much of the material. With 9 or so denominations in Swedenborgianism I think you can see it is a free for all on interpretation. I am not sure how seriously I take him however I like his concepts. As a Mennonite of course I have a different slant on things. I would never be part of one of the groups since they tend to be all over the map on many issues I am not NewAge nor Homosexual so I would

Interesting post, thanks for uploading this. I've studied Swedenborg for about 10 years, have most of his books, agree with much of what he wrote, & I think it's a shame that he's not better-known.

I'm not a Mennonite, but I'm pleased to know you guys still exist! Originally I discovered the Mennonite Church by taking an interest in Rembrandt & his paintings, & I agree with much of the Mennonite ideas and practices... perhaps I could a Mennonite myself !

@kidcalabria Mennonites are part of the free church tradition. It is more of a federation of suspicion then a denomination for sure. They have to agree to love in spite of differences because they have so many. I am trained in both their theology and practice however we are not similar to many others. We are rather cut off here in Panama where there are none. join my facebook and have a peek at more of what we teach. My new one The message of Jesus is a good one to see.

The combined efforts of the New York C.S. Lewis Society have been unable to establish that he ever actually READ Swedenborg. I am inclined to believe that he did not. The line in THE GREAT DIVORCE where he has George MacDonald say "I'll have no Swedenborg... among my children" shows no comprehension of the doctrines apart from the popular notion that it has something to do with spiritualism. (Which is not the srizonified POINT!)

@wlinden You might be right about C S Lewis however his educational background leads me to believe he was that well read. Swedenborg was considered classic material in the 19th century with many reading him. Finney mentions him yet does not agree with him showing however he read something. He was the religion of Helen Keller who was famous Emerson etc.

Interesting view. I would repeat that there are nine different full denomination who style themselves after the writings of Emmanuel Swedenborg. It seems to me that there is a danger to be like the person here. Arrogant, independent in interpretation and subjective to the point of God speaks to me but no one else.

This can be the scary results of those who are not grounded in the Bible as the foundation first. Swedenborg had some marvelous insights but if you depart from the foundation trouble.

I do not agree with the way the church that sprang up around his does but with 9 different groups of only and handful of people in each I guess the point is they don't all agree either. So what's this point you have?

@frnz444 One cannot just read Swedenborg and understand those who try, go insane, see nothing, or begin to study the man Swedenborg, all of which is false. It is the Lords words, not Swedenborg’s, and all teaching is done through the lord. My words are not mine but only what was taught to me by the lord, as is done to all who are being regenerated. @rsjaa This is the funniest and clearest show of the reason there is nine different groups and counting. I have only quoted Swedenborg and this guy thinks it is all false. Crazy people read Swedenborg and come up with he is right about everything and scripture is his writings... I happen to like much of what he said but I will hold on to the bible and the truth that Yahweh alone is God. That he came in the form of Yahshua as a Son of God for our salvation. There is salvation only in him.

I have read Swedenborg for 19 years and the quotes are direct from his writings.

Most people who read Swedenborg agree to disagree as there is no one way to understand his works that is considered "correct". Hey if you think I am wrong email me or go to my websites. I am not unapproachable on it.

@frnz444 Those who read swedenborg can have no understanding of what they are reading unless it is under the divine auspice of jesus christ. read and interpret as you may, but it will all be false. Understanding comes after a year or so, by your own admission of extensive reading there is no way you could have any understanding. Those who claim to understand, as you do, are described by the Lord as a theif, one who interprets what does not belong to oneself and uses it to deceive others.

@rsjaa You have a lot of venim coming out but I see no real arguments that tell me what on earth you disagree with. My friends in the church of Swedenborg tend to like what is said here. Are they all lost people and off track too? So what you are saying is your the only one who has direct revelation to interpret Swedenborgs thoughts correctly. Is that what I hear you saying?

That is not what I hear from the man himself.

Each is entitled to their own opinion of the man. He was after all a man.
