  • Can they fortify against rouge government agencies, like ATFE, SWAT, FBIHR, police, and others that love to break into homes with out a warrent to kill our pets, children, or parents because we do not choose a government sanction church, bank, political party, insureance coverage or we wish to be self sufficiant. Can they fortify against breakins from inner city hip hop types, or protect our internet from geeky nerds who commit identity theft? sign me up if they can.

  • LOL anyone notice the RV almost clipped and swerved from a car?

  • @OculusAeternam Thunder, or the thermal expansion of lightning blew a six inch chunk 10 feet long and six inches wide out of an oak tree 30 feet from my house. While on houses they typically do less damge its quite possible for lightning to split a wall etc.

  • Motorhome RV disaster......

  • maneuver at 0:05 was risky all right

  • Just build double walls filled with gravel, cover the outside in brick or stone, put a metal roof on it, and but some ditches or bollards around it to stop vehicles.

Keep concertina coils, sandbags, and homemade Hesco-style cages around to deploy if they are needed.

  • Shingles ? A stick frame atop a concrete sub wall ? What a joke. Go down to Miami if you want to learn how to build a house.

  • @blammcans Block construction crumbles when a wave or a tornado hits it. Just because there are few well constructed wood frame buildings does not mean they cannot be superiorly-built. Wood, especially the right kind of wood, has the resiliance to withstand concussion, like that of an atomic blast, tsunami wave or severe wind event where block walls collapse. Only reinforced concrete may equal it, but not in an earthquake. The type, spacing, fastener method, bracing are the key.

  • Great post, thank you Mike...

I like how they aren't partial to any one building technique to grant Fortified status.

Though I think I agree with you that ICF is the best overall.

  • I want a Fortified ICF Home!
