Then, StyleMisser, you are cordially invited to visit this horse in his natural environment and training, and see for yourself. What methods would you suppose I use to create this movement? I have photos of him as a 3-year-old, turned out running the paddock and he looks just like this- motion above level, head and neck straight out of his shoulder. EXACTLY why we imported him, sight-unseen. Though Saddlebreds do, and that's great, Freisians do not respond well to artificial leg training aids.
Nagasarus1, go nah somewhere else. The movement seen is that of saddlebreds natural movement, not a Friesian. I don't see any of the Friesians I ride "naturally" moving this way.
Note the conformation of this horse's neck and shoulder. For the record, this may not be "how a Friesian is supposed to move," but this is 100% natural movement on this horse, and the way in which many Friesians will move if allowed their natural tendencies . He has NEVER had enhancement aids, nor shoeing. He was just four in this video- his second show. He now moves much bigger, still 100% natural. This is how Friesians were bred centuries ago- fancy, big moving war and carriage horses.
@Nagzarus1 I agree! I live in the netherlands and when I see them in fields (they are everywhere here) they run more like your horse. Not all dressage style, which horse wants to look at the ground all day?
to me this is wrong lol this isn't how a friesian is meant to move! i love friesians when they move naturally... honestly this is ugly... the movement is too uphill... i don't like it
Beautiful horse! I adore his neck <3
