The payroll tax freeze, in my opinion, seems to be a decent idea. Having workers keep, up to, an extra $100, every week, would've actually helped a lot of people.

That could've been part of the solution. Granted, that idea doesn't do much to help the increasing number of people who are being laid off everyday, it's still a good idea. It's unfortunate that Republican leadership couldn't try and bring that into the discussion

The freeze on the payroll tax does very little, to alleviate the pressures on the states, facing huge budget deficits, and, from the little I know, it does less for those losing their jobs.

Still, imagine if they had actually sat down with the Democrats, and shared their ideas. It would've led to a very heated debate, but hopefully an even better bill.
