I personally enjoyed this game. I understand it has it's issues, but it certainly didn't deserve 6/10. Yeah, controllers are bit glitchy but believe me, the game has a good story mode and it really makes you feel like you are getting away from the police. I was hooked until I got to the Japanese Night Club and started shooting all the people there XD

I included graphics in my list just because I listed all features I didn't like about this game. graphics is almost the last thing I consider when I rate a game. the 2 things which made me delete this game were: the atmosphere (I don't know, it seemed too raw to me, depressed and I didn't like the design of levels), and physics (shooting is just ugly, I think it's same as in Freedom Fighters, the game that was developed in 2002...)
I managed to complete only 6 levels of this game, I actually wanted to delete it after the first mission but I'm kinda patient.. this game is ugly, really I don't like this game. Yes the game has many flaws, but i don't think Jeff understands 'criminals' or even atmosphere, which, to this day, games don't get right. Maybe GTA does it well, but there's so many games missing elements that this game has. Example: you walk into a club and guess what? There's actual people in the club dancing and you have to weave through them as in real life. There's much more.
Jeff has done good reviews, but he didn't even point out the strong points of the game. He just shitted on it.

What I think is that Jeff represented gamespot, so it was considered THEIR opinion of the game. But that said, the review must've gone through some editors, who must've confirmed this video for upload. So ultimately, they agreed to Jeff, but figured out they were gonna lose an advertiser so they made Jeff a scapegoat. Looking back at it, this was the event that devastated gamespot.
I gave my own opinion about Duke Nukem Forever on their website, saying that even though it has a two weapon limit, and regenerating health, I still forgive that for the fun, blow stuff up gameplay....two days later, banned. What a bunch of bullshit.

@RMJ1984 Honestly CoD MW2 certainly deserved it's score, as practically everything it did, was brilliant, although the length honestly was too short sadly, they should have certainly made the campaign longer, till they catch the main baddy.. Hence the 9/10 .. The multiplayer was great.. Although the balance issues are frustrating at times, you can still take down anyone, if played right.

Critics hated it because it was nothing they expected. Its hard to enjoy a game like this unless your really into psychological drama's involving two people with mental illnesses. Kane- disempathetic sociopath, Lynch- psychopath. Kane will never like Lynch, in the second one he basically just used Lynch later in the game just so he could complete the mission and be back with his family, the only thing he cares about. This is more of a movie type game though, the script is to broad for a game.

man, I agree with you totally! I included graphics in my list just because I listed all features I didn't like about this game. graphics is almost the last thing I consider when I rate a game. the 2 things which made me delete this game were: the atmosphere (I don't know, it seemed too raw to me, depressed and I didn't like the design of levels), and physics (shooting is just ugly, I think it's same as in Freedom Fighters, the game that was developed in 2002...)

I managed to complete only 6 levels of this game, I actually wanted to delete it after the first mission but I'm kinda patient.. this game is ugly, really I don't like this game. Graphics are very shitty, I don't like the atmosphere of this game and the physics of shooting, it's as ugly as it gets. And main characters don't make this game also, at least for me.

now, firing him over this review was fucking bullshit, but to be fair he just kinda exaggerates sometimes. i absolutely agree with him on the AI and some other stuff, but i rarely have any problems with the cover system, its pretty simple and effective. also the cursing isnt overused at all, it fits with the style of the game. and i like the main characters but yes the story could have used some more depth, sometimes it feels weird. this game is really fun though. you kill like a hundred cops.

Yes the game has many flaws, but i don't think Jeff understands 'criminals' or even atmosphere, which, to this day, games don't get right. Maybe GTA does it well, but there's so many games missing elements that this game has. Example: you walk into a club and guess what? There's actual people in the club dancing and you have to weave through them as in real life. There's much more.
Jeff has done good reviews, but he didn't even point out the strong points of the game. He just shitted on it.

What I think is that Jeff represented gamespot, so it was considered THEIR opinion of the game. But that said, the review must've gone through some editors, who must've confirmed this video for upload. So ultimately, they agreed to Jeff, but figured out they were gonna lose an advertiser so they made Jeff a scapegoat. Looking back at it, this was the event that devastated gamespot.

Jeff gave a bad review, they fired him because the publisher probably bitched saying their bribe wasnt upheld, and he left. Four other employees in the following weeks left because they ''didnt want to work for a dishonest company'' and thus Jeff started Giantbomb with another guy

@RMJ1984 Honestly CoD MW2 certainly deserved it's score, as practically everything it did, was brilliant, although the length honestly was too short sadly, they should have certainly made the campaign longer, till they catch the main baddy.. Hence the 9/10 .. The multiplayer was great.. Although the balance issues are frustrating at times, you can still take down anyone, if played right.
I honestly think that this reviewer was great.. But hey .. IGN and gamespot are organizations!

Animations and graphics seems to be the main focus, but excellent gameplay and artificial intelligence doesn't seem to 'count'. Heck, developers seem to think we need to be spoon-fed games or else it will be too difficult. Fck that! We want challenging and exciting games that have a solid gameplay. Its no surprise one of the best shooters or all time, was in fact a mod.

Critics hated it because it was nothing they expected. Its hard to enjoy a game like this unless your really into psychological drama's involving two people with mental illnesses. Kane- disempathetic sociopath, Lynch- psychopath. Kane will never like Lynch, in the second one he basically just used Lynch later in the game just so he could complete the mission and be back with his family, the only thing he cares about. This is more of a movie type game though, the script is to broad for a game.
