  • simply beautiful

    nothing else to say

  • 11 dislikes? well i have some killing to do...

  • This is such a beautiful piece... I was looking for this cello track for so long! I've heard it in lots of movies and TV shows. I love the feeling it gives off... It makes me think of a person that's a true artist, but that artist is going through a troubled time and the only outlet they have is their instrument, the cello... Just beautiful!

  • 11 Dislikes!!!!???????

  • How can there be 11 dislikes

  • @Popi80s Yes!!!!

  • The Soloist Trailer...that's why I'm here

  • There isnt one instrument I have found that you cant put your heart and soul into....Heck Ive seen people put there heart and soul into a triangle....Music moves everyone in different ways...i truly believe theres no wrong ways just different ways and different styles!

  • So beautiful.

  • It has such a wonderful haunting sound... I love it.

  • this is what inspired me to play the cello. Beautiful isn't it.

  • @supergown2 Congrats, yours is a great choice

  • people say express urself. with so many ways to do so I guess it is hard to do so if u dont know which way.

  • wow, i wish i could play this song, that fast. Beautiful !

  • i wanna do my dance solo to this song(:

  • Yo YO mah rules.

  • I don't think the world has gone to crap, people just express themselves in different forms of music. None of it is crap. Just different styles.

  • @mentaz Agreed

  • @mentaz you must remember crap can be a style, justin bieber uses it

  • @mentaz Finally, someone gets it.

  • @mentaz Don't be so modest. I'd say a good 98% is crap and forever be crap. When you need a computer to modify your voice because you have no talent whatsoever is a good indication that your horrible.

  • whats the name of this song.

  • @WillOfficial94 The clue was in the title.

Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major: I. Prelude - by Johann Sebastian Bach. It's just under 300 years old.

I wonder if people will be asking your question in 300 years time about Beiber or Gaga.

  • most amazing movie, and the most amazing cello playing i have ever heard! wow, this movie just takes you far, far away....

  • Is there a specific name for this song? I want to try and find it on Itunes.

  • "I" don't particularly like this interpretation......i think its played a bit faster than it needs to be, but it sounds beautiful none the less

  • I need a repeat button, this is a must song for sleeping..

  • i love the dynamics in this piece!

  • This piece makes me sad, yet incredibly happy. i hate it, and yet, i love it. i loath and abhor it , and yet, i adore it. quite ironic eh?

  • my comment shall be weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Perhaps the most moving and most beautiful piece for cello ever written...

  • The copy I have of the song is in C major :p haha This is one of my favorite peices. I also enjoy playing the menuet 1 of this cello suite :]

  • Gorgeous.

  • simply stunning. :)

  • hhahahahah i favorite peace of classical music in this universe

  • Es lo más bello que escuché en mi vida, hace rato que vengo buscándola y como no sabía de quién era no la podía encontrar. Graciaaaaaass!

  • now thats music

  • Hermoso

  • Even though I managed to continue my sport into the collegiate rhelm, I still miss being in symphonic band the most.........

  • Its taken me sooo long to find this song, whoop finally :)

  • this song reminded me of vaginas

  • @archerysemesterq What does that mean...? Because I would LOVE the DL for this song... I'm a cellist myself & this is gorgous (sp?).

  • this song is calming to me... i have always loved stringed instruments but never had enough money to buy a cello or a violin .-.

  • I agree with vanhalenmk I miss orchestra and my cello....

  • I love classical music it's so soothing to me. I guess that's because my older brother used to turn it on before we went to sleep at night when i was younger.

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • WHAT 9 RETARDS WOULD DISLIKE THIS?!

  • every time i hear this song, my heart is pounding like crazy n ill have a tear coming down my face cause this song so powerful and beautiful.

  • @cubanpimp213 gay

  • @xxfinisherxx wow tht was a relly good one.......

  • I love the song. amazing cello piece.

I'd like to talk about one thing though. I find it quite opposite to the spirit of sharing to not even mention one photographer in your description. All those beautiful photographs were taken by humans. lol. I know they are of nature and nature is indeed beautiful, but if you even know the name of 1 photographer, add him to your description.

    thanks and peace.

  • I'll admit it, I had tears within the first 20 seconds. That's how powerful this is.

  • i love this song

  • I will never get tired of listening to this piece. <3

It's kind of sad to think that music like this isn't heard too much anymore. I mean, you occasionally hear the violin or the string bass in the background of a pop or r&b song, but that might just be it. I wish classical instruments were used more often in songs that you might hear on the radio. I know most of my friends don't like the sound of strings, but it'd just be nice to hear a change in what I hear on the radio everyday.

  • i love the first part

  • I love the wholesomeness of this sound. Sound wonderfully rich. Anyone can point me to the same sort of deep sounds of cello here? How do I find this deep kind of enchanting solo cello?

  • when i first heard this song i cried ;] its beauty brought me tears

  • @Unoswiper im glad im not the only onw who crieddd.

  • I love this song. It is sad how most people would only know this song from "The Soloist" rather than prior knowledge of how magnificent classical music is.

  • @UAVplane Well, at least that movie creates a chance to hear such magnificent classical music for the mainstream populace, and to culture them a bit.

  • @PalmTreeFangirl I find it sad that most fans of classical music must be so condescending about those who do not share the same passion.

  • @Sadiquit0 I'm not a fan of classical music nor do I have a passion for it. I'm part of the mainstream populace that is constantly being cultured by exposure to classical music through movie scores. I first heard this song from the movie

"Master and Commander", and I love it. I was only saying that there's nothing wrong with getting classic arts through mainstream movies. Sorry if I sounded condescending, I didn't mean to.

  • It gives you such an amazing feeling...euforic.

There actually are people in the world who do not enjoy this song?

  • It Reminds me of being Young.

Cuz my Sis was always Playing this song on her Chello..

    Good Old Times ;'P

  • How in Sam-Hill did we go from this to Soulja Boy?!?! If there was ever a way to relive something....I would shake Bach's hand and thank him sincerely. You would think since there's only a few notes in music that something this beautiful could even be thought of. I can't stop listening to this on my good days and bad days! Thanks Bach!!!

  • iam an african american and yes i love my hip hop rap music....but at the same time i like 2 listen 2 this type of sound....its my own personal escape if u will....it haunts me in many ways.....i cant explaine it

  • Unfortunately we can never replace this music we can only replicate it, so it goes.

  • Bach is awesome. 'Nuff said.

  • So beautiful. I literally cried at the end , i got so into it.

  • The thing i like about real instruments is you can put your heart and soul into it

  • @keviiinwa mmmm yesss

  • @keviiinwa as opposed to fake instruments?

  • @keviiinwa you can put your soul into death metal they really want to burn babies apparently

  • @adancinhipo whoa, thats an unfair representation of death metal. some of its about love...of raping women

  • @enmac500 Don't say a word about Death Metal until you actually know its origin and history please. I am a metalhead and I still love and appreciate this music, at to be honest besides vocals the two genres aren't all that different. Just because you're too closed minded to appreciate a different genre of music doesn't mean you need to belittle it on the internet to make yourself feel better.

  • @futboller18 make myself feel better, lol. you're cute. and i was making a joke. who said i don't like death metal? in fact, I do, but i also like making jokes. now move along, bro.

  • @adancinhipo thats disgusting we dont need to know

  • There are so many words that come to mind when I listen to this exquisite piece of music. Words that barely begin to describe the emotion which builds to an explosive crescendo. This music is haunting, moving, contemplative, pulsating, searing, piercing, disarming, captivating, enrapturing, majestic, alluring, enigmatic, enchanting, ethereal and impossibly real. He somehow captured the essence of the universe and life itself. Bravo. Thank you to JasonZastrow for posting the video.

  • who would give this a thumbs down?

  • Musical y visualmente magnifico!!

  • Yeah pianofan real ironic you play multiple woodwind instruments. (sarcasticly)alot of people play multiple instruments. i might pick up guitar this summer and cello next school year in addition to my violin.

  • anyone know where i can get clarinet notes to this?

  • Such crisp, clean notes. (ahhhh...) I should have taken up the cello instead of the violin.

  • @superbad115 hell yes you should have. WE NEED MORE CELLOS IN THE WORLD.

  • Rhythmic peace of those which we have yet to understand...beautiful

  • beautiful

  • Bahh I love this song. It's the craziest thing. I'm learning it on the cello right now, but I play the viola. :)

  • if you play viola you can easily learn it, same strings just from tener to bass cleff isn't that hard. I'm sure it would be easy for you on your normal instrument then learning it on the cello.

  • is this all cello

  • heaven on my eardrums

  • Anyone know where I can download this or the full verson, not just the prelude?

  • I love this peice! It so reminds me of the movie master and commander! That's my favorite movie ever! Sounds easy to play.

  • absolutely tantalizing

  • To find comfort, strength, courage...hope in the art that is music. To see beauty leap forth from the notes that are played, strummed, singed...expressed. To see a piece of yourself be shown to all before you as you play your art...that is what it truly means to be a musician...to be a musical artist.

  • i like this song

  • beautiful :)

  • Uh bach is my favorite composer and i hope to play this good one day. If you dont play an instument or sing or something start today. It will be the best time you ever spent in your life.

  • hey whats most easy instrument to to learn how to play i know if u or enybody love to do it and spends time on it is fast to learn but is realy the piano the easyest one?

  • no! the piano hard and takes time to learn one of the easiest or fastest instrument to learn to play is the recorder or cymbals

  • That's Ironic! On My Biography Thing On My Account, I Play All Of Those! WOW

  • if you want a instrument with a wide rang of notes and recognizable pieces, i would not suggest cello or any string instruments as to they have no frets like guitars or electric basses and takes a long time. cymbals are kind of useless but you could learn the recorder and move to woodwinds like clarinet or flute or oboe

  • what the fucck! finally i found it....ive been searchin for this in a month.....

  • i adore this song... thank you very much for posting!!!

  • Thank you so much for posting this song, I've been trying to figure out the title forever!

  • i have a questin how hard is it to play a cello or a violin b/c i love the sounds they make and rly want to get one and see if i can learn it

  • It isn't really hard, you just need one thing: practice. Could be quite challenging at first, but the hard work will worth it; trust me. ;)

  • ahhh So breathtaking and peaceful

  • I guess I agree with everthing all of you said I miss playing cello. I do not now why I changes and play bass.

  • I used to play the violin.. and now i m caught up with guitar and piano..

But the relationship you have with the first music instrument you play..it s special. Unique.

  • just simply amazing!!

  • Wouldn't it be truly wonderful to have music like this flowing through the world? If it did, then maybe our corrupt society will be cured.

  • I love cello but this one is just killing me with it's beauty.. it's like a suite for the meaning of life..

  • one of my fav pieces!! xxx<3

  • why do people no longer make music like this?

  • @pandabearkerri

    they do. ;)

it's just the modern culture has well stumped over the olden days...

  • not as much though. it makes me sad

  • cmon man, soldja boy is more talented (sarcasm)

  • haha true lol jk

  • because the world has gone to crap.

I miss being in orchestra :(

  • this is pretty much very true

I miss it to. o used to play the cello put then i moved to a different district that did not have orchestra

  • @pandabearkerri which country

  • America???

im sorry but i am not quite sure what you mean

  • @vanhalenmk me too :(

  • because it's not profitable.

not that I agree with that, but the financial elite of the world care about their pocket book.

Check out the New World Order.

    Then check out Jesus.

    Then revelations.

  • tobad that there isnt anyone left in the world like bach or beethoven

that can compose music like they did

  • I think they are, but due to our comercial world, they aren't famous, or worst, they aren't even known.

  • great job beautiful pics go perfectly with the music...

  • i think thats the nicest comment iv ever seen :)

  • I prefer mischa maisky's version

  • Simply amazing. The photos coexist greatly with the music.

  • Breath taking

  • It's the first of six suites written by Bach

this one is Suite No. 1 in G Major (BWV 1007)

Yo-Yo Ma did another recording that I like better, it's slower and more emotional

  • this is also from master and commander, is it?

  • this song is nice tought usually i listen to rock music lol

  • so is this song actually called suite solo cello? i really need to know the actual name

  • this is another world wonderful :D

  • Beautiful, peaceful, and truly a master Piece

  • too fast

  • I agree. Asshats giving thumbs down. I like this song becuase of the dragged out notes, adds to the general feel of the song. I think this is a little too fast.

  • I don't think its too fast, but I myself as a musician think that interpretation is in the musician's inspiration. What they feel and what comes to mind when they play those first few notes. Maybe what he was feeling when he played the piece made the music come out as such. If you haven't seen "The Soloist" yet, do it. That movie illustrates what Im trying to explain with inspiration and passion for what he/she as the musician feels through the notes and the experience.

    Very well played piece

  • Powerful piece

  • You can almost feel the passion within this song...

  • just almost??

  • what an amazing song

  • yo-yo ma is a talented soul that is for sure!

  • in a few months, i will be walking down the isle with this song playing in the background :)

  • "It's a Trap!!!"

    Admiral Ackbar

  • What a gift for the heart! Thank you dearly

  • so beautiful....im getting like a hard on jus by listening to it

  • Seriously now...c'mon..shit I know its fantastic, but A BONER!!!??

  • ...i got one too. are you telling me this doesn't turn you on?

In all honesty though, I think he plays this one too fast

  • best song

  • beautiful. Thank you.

  • beautiful.
