The government list of occupation during a nuclear war only listed women under the age of 26, so that they would be well within breeding age for the government staff. I've seen the list! Amazing place.
I'm curious to know why this isn't kept for the general population in the event of a global crisis or nuclear war.
The fact this is now an open secret, i.e. revealed by remains largely unknown, begs the question, where is the new bunker?
I often wonder what protocol we have in place to 'save' the population, if nuclear war happened. It appears there are no preparations to 'safe gaurd' the general population, on the elite politicians and aristocracy.
@Olafandlafandlaf it wouldn't really help the general population, if there was ever a serious nuclear attack the survivors would be the unlucky ones but it's the Government's duty to stay alive and manage what is left.
I'm sure there are plans now which we'll find out about in another 50 years.
...sensible answer, I was lucky enough to by invited because I have written a lot of letters and researched the bunker lots for my website (link in video description).
Well he worked for interserve from around the end of 2007 and is still working for them now, im not sure if you saw him or not though, what day did your group go down there?
If any1 here has played fallout 3 we can pay now we could all pay up reserve a house of our choice down there like vault 101 and with the military base above we would be the safst people in event of war it has cnstant temp down there with controlls and lake and prification system and its own generator and can survive on a full tank of fuel without contact of any h u man kind 30 days i think
That would have been Spring Quarry you got in to, Burling is an area in the middle of Spring Quarry so there are no entrances from the surface. You can only get in to it from the adjoining quarries through a big blast door.
yeah, we got to a bit where there was a brick wall, but there was a gap leadingto a huge room, we havnt gone any further yet. have you heard of the ghost down there?
how brilliant you got to go on a tour! I have been fascinated by the bunker since I discovered it. It is a shame it cant be kept as a museum. I heard it has been bought my a computer company to store servers in? All the best, Carl
I've been facinated by this place for year, it's taken me about five years to get in... I've been turned down for so many time for so many reasons... health and safety, national security etc etc

Does this have a link to box tunnel or am I thinking of another site?
ollyk22 2 years ago
@ollyk22 when it was built it didn't have a link, the link to box tunnel was from the neighbouring ammunitions depot.
In the 80s a route between Burlington and the ammunition depot was built.
