This show was awesome... we grew up watching it and none of that "political correctness crap" ever existed cause no one ever saw it as anything but funny comedy. And its still "Funny" comedy..
@BossRoss999 Exactly the same here. I got into it after I saw a clip of it on The 50 Most Unpolitical Correct TV Shows and Moments with Clive Anderson.
Just from that 2 minutes worth of video, I laughed my head off because I knew exactly what they were trying to achieve.
I was quite happy when I found series 5 and 7 on DVD in HMV and last week I bought the whole series off Amazon so I'm sorted with funny fuel for the Easter.
I never thought this was racist and I am mixed race. The main thing I remember about the programme was how sensible the wives were and how they ALWAYS got on.
another classic comedy that sadly fails to get repeats because of the pc brigade . this era of tv comedy was at its best ! pure quality and loved every moment watching this around my grans at 7 pm. remember it like it was yesterday.
The classics are always better because they have better actors, storylines and zany antics than the newe ones! Plus, british comedy is more funny than American comedy, with the sole expectation of American actress Lucille Ball!
@Jeansieguy First of all it was my personal opinion on the matter and second of all if you don't like the fact that British comedy has better writers that's too fucking bad for you! You have no fucking right to talk rude to me simply because I'm giving British TV the credit it deserves! I don't really care what you think and quite fucking you have no bloody life! Funny is not just funny, it takes real talent and creativity to make a sitcom work, but i guess you didn't know that!
@Cunard51 Anyone who thinks Lucille Ball is remotely funny needs their head read.
Love Thy Neighbour was unfunny shit in the 70s and has now become desperately unfunny.... All this shit about British comedy is funnier than US comedy etc., is pure bollocks, who gives a fuck where it's from, if it's funny it's funny.

To quote Jack Smethurst (who played Eddie Booth), it was a child of the seventies, for the seventies, and I think it should be left in the seventies.
