So, she only had that pole there to keep her balance because she had to dip down as a part of her routine. So, the pole was there so she would not fall. Plus who cares what little kids think? i personally loved this performance. her vocals sounded great and i enjoyed the song. so for all you miley bashers i just have to say that firstly she didnt come up with this dance, her choreographer did. and she didnt choose her outfit, her stylist did. also she didnt pole dance she was standing on top of an icecream cart and had to hold onto something otherwise she'd fall off and most ice cream carts have poles with umbrellas on top. she reason she couldnt have an umbrella was becuz of lights
