I saw them perform last saturday in Moergestel (Holland) and it was fantastic. It was the second time I saw them live.I like the band and especcially George who always takes the time to have a chat with fans. Years ago my wife was very ill, a few months before she died we went to Ireland (Dublin and the wicklow mountains) for a week, in that period we often listened to The Fureys, that's why this music is so important for me personally. ps. Luke my compliments for the way you play the whistle.
Yesterday we heard them play this one live in Meursinge Westerbork. Seemed like a private concert with only 120 people in the house. Liked the show a lot.
@dily44 i gan into me own world with this tune,,fishing the atlantic, with the gulls around the mast, pulling the nets in,,while fighting a blustery wind....but thats me
@edsterzzzzzz Just thinking of those lost souls this week and the price payed by a Coastal Community in Wast Cork 'Union Hall'... [God / Allah look after them....]

Because his head got too big, simple. Although he is an amazing instrument player together these guys have better voices

I knew the Fureys well, particularly paul and Eddie. Paul is buried near my mother in Newlands cross cemetery.

Great job. Keep practicing and one day you will grow up to be "almost" as good as FINBAR.

Great Version of this, but it's hart to top the man himself, Finbar, playing it!
Great stuff though!!!
Very enjoyable!
