Ya as an other other guy said, try upping the voltage. I have a buddy with same cpu but needs quite a bit more vcore then me to keep his stable at 4.0ghz. Also make sure you've got a ram divider set so that your ram frequency isn't getting to high and unstable.
They say 1.3V is already way to much... I'm not gonna bring up the voltage more, I dont think it would be a smart thing to do cause I can ruin the CPU with that...
lol 1.3 is not way to much. I run my e8400 running at 1.31 vcore, but i did have to set the vcore higher then that in the bios cause of vdroop. I've seen a lot of people actually having to use 1.4 vcore to get theirs stable, but I'm guessing that's with older batches maybe. I wouldn't recommend going up to 1.4, but if you have good cooling you should be ok.
1680x1050 all settings maxed with 8xmsaa ??!?!?!?!?! Woah, thats incredible while your maintaining stunning framerates! I definitely want a 4870 now T.T Should I wait for 4870x2 or just stick with my 8800gt and wait? :S
If you got the money i say go for it, because it will definitley be a huge upgrade, but if not theirs still a good performance boost going from an 8800gt to a 4870.
The e8400 would be better, most likely because I'm guessing this game isn't optimized for quad core and even if it was alot of the time the e8400 still beats it, but not everytime. I'd just stick with the q6600 as it should be good for the long run, especially when more and more games get optimized for quad cores, and overall it's still a really good cpu and better when overclocked = ).
LOL of course it's not slower man do some research on technology, you seem to not be aware of even the most fundamental characteristics of computer technology.
I would definitley crossfire them but i don't have a crossfire motherboard unfortunately, unless you want to donate me one = ) lol jp. But i have been thinking of down the road either grabbing a 4870x2 or a crossfire motherboard.
Ty = ). Personally i think you should hold onto the 8800ultra instead of making the jump as the performance boost wont be as big since that card still is quite good, if you were to upgrade I'd say grab the 4870x2.
I will be getting a 360 soon (just to play cod4 and halo 3 with friends) so i will definitley buy an adapter and try the controller out with the game :)

A q6660 at 3.2ghz is slower in games like TF2 and grid then the stock E8400 :)

The E8400 is faster than Q6600 like in 80% of the Games :D
