Once I have told a monk that someone will come on a specific day. and the monk has announced it to a few people. however, this person could not come on this day. Does this count as breaking the speech precept?
If you had the intention to mislead then it is breaking a precept. If you thought they could indeed come and by some accident they could not then there is no fault. It is the intention behind your action. Metta
