  • your voice sounds gay and retard

  • When the British attacked New York I guarantee they gave Greenwich village a wide birth.

  • your mic sucks!!!!!!!!!

  • With 29 Warship and 11 800 soldiers, Yorktown is almost a french Victory

  • we brought alaska from russia

  • y does the yanks go mad about their country being gud when britain has never bein evaded by america and britian is just a big island wit ireland and u paid us to leave your country and youse bought alaska of us brits so dont be bitching about your shitty county m8 britain is a powerful country =)

  • @ratking89 so is america THE BEST country but thats ur opinion but were more powerful then great britan

  • @ratking89 so is america THE BEST country but that's Ur opinion but were more powerful then great Britain

P.S spell better and for god living use real words like pussy, mother fucker, shit , bullshit all the words that describe your military performance during the war of 1776

  • Here's the amazing thing....America fought for their freedom, starting in 1776, and again in the war of 1812. Then it was finally settled that we, America, were infact a sovergin nation. Even with all this in our collective past...WE, America and Britian---are close Allis....strange things in history, I love history!!

  • the surrender at Yorktown didnt conclude the war, it actually went on for a further 2 years until hostilities were stopped by the treaty of paris, however, Yorktown was the last major engagement between British and American land forces in North America

  • the Americans (arguably) did not win their independence, the French won it for them. had it not been for admiral de Grasse, Cornwallis would have escaped from Yorktown in 1781, linked up with northern most British forces and finished off George Washingtons army

  • please, the french didn't get involved until almost the END of the war......

  • Usa fought less than 1 year in WW1 and entered wwII 3 years after it had started.

Accept the Truth, Without France, No USA

  • @gipcambero we kick ass with the 6 months we were in combat in WWI and saved France agian entering WWII December 7th, 1941 and Declaring War on Germany in 1942 then D-day came to Liberate France so it was a way of thanking Francee twice for helping BUT without USA no France today

  • @gipcambero Ahem,We know that you dumb fuck, also If it wasn't for the brave Patriots and our forefathers no USA,it wasn't only the French,we did a huge part as well.

  • Americans were fighting Hessians hired by you country for most of the war, fuckin pussy englishmen

  • If you ask me the britts had it coming, you can't tax people for dumb things that you have enough money to pay for. And they really fucked up when they killed 5 people and taxed the (soon to be) Americans for tea shipment. Soon we pinned the British down, by sea were the french and by land were American and French soldiers. And i do agree with

    triplebaseball

  • the initial tax was to pay for the defence of the colonies, the main gripe was that the colonies had NO direct representation in Parliament. Additionally your use of the word 'britts' is misleading as G Washington etc considered themselves BRITISH when they took up arms. this is my last comment on this topic, it surprises me how little u yanks know about your history.

  • It's just a distinction between mainland Britian and the American colonists. No one is arguing over ethnicity.

It's funny when a foreigner tries to educate us on our history. What the fuck makes you think you know anything about it?

  • Studied US history at college, been interested in world history especially military for years, and have read a load of good books on the subject.

The last was by Bill Bryson.

    Anything else?

  • Sure man. Sure.

I just having a difficult time taking the word of someone who says "u yanks" and then proceeds to make biased generalizations.

  • Am I not correct on my point that the majority of American know very little of their own history? Im not too fussed if you dont take my word on anything, do your own reasearch on the comments made then draw your conclusions.

  • Then I'd like to see some sources stating the extent of American history as known by Americans. Somehow, I doubt you'll provide.

  • provided one source already

  • It is also british history....

  • WE, the United States are the best most powerful country in this world, pray that this Obamination guy does not destroy us.

  • Distance your face from the freaking microphone.

  • Hession General Colonel Rowell? A General and a Colonel, wow.

  • I would like to say that the Dutch had all of one major engagement with the British during the war.

I think the Americans would have won without military support, but without financial and weapons supplies, I don't think so.

  • we would of fucked the americans up if it wasnt for the french

  • Well, no excuses hahaha. The french didn't come in until they knew we could win.

  • Like USA in WW1

  • Revolution Be Thy Name

  • ok i just wanted to tell ya

  • ok i just wanted to tell ya

  • um the battle of bunker hill was not actuly on bunker hill it was on breeds hill and genreal howe charged 3x b4 making the rebels retreat

  • I said the troops were stationed on both Bunker Hill and Breed's hill, and I didn't mention the charges so I wouldn't have to explain the whole thing.

  • @stormsos The conflict began on Breeds Hill, correct, but after the Americans were driven into retreat, they regrouped again at Bunker Hill.

  • I think that what people fail to realize is that the British from the mother country, Great Britain were fighting their own people, the British over 3,000 miles away in their 13 American Colonies. The colonial rebels and patriots in America did NOT want to break free from their allegiance to England. It was their 'mad' king who was the problem, not listening to reason and due to his policy of taxation without representation. And that is why colonial farmers with pitchforks had to bear arms.

  • not excalty, it wasnt due to the fact that our king was mad. To be honest many americans loved our king, it was the mere fact that americans hated the politicians in parliament they were heavily taxing them without representation and also the east trading company had a monoploy over the colonies. Although many americans did start to resent king as he was not prepared to help them.

  • @YogaNate79 Yes your correct the Colonials didnt want independence from the Empire, They were angry about not been treated as equals, Also about been taxed?? They got greedy! The British were paying 10x more than the Colonials in tax, So if the Colonials wanted to be equals they should have accepted the tax! What so bad about British rule??

  • yeah , but the message in our declaration of independence is to do what is right for what you believe in, and for the saftey of you and your family. The british were being very unfair. Trying to rule a piece of land that is 3000 miles away. Thats some BS

  • Ure founding fathers were traitors to their King and Country, nothing to be proud of

  • No, their King failed to treat them properly as subjects. The appeals to the King from the colonist's about their grievances were repeatedly ignored.

Your lack of correct spelling and grammar is nothing to be proud of.

  • yup. the revolution was about americans seeing the british as going against the rights of man and trying to dominate the colonies and dissolve legislatures one by one. thats the basic reason.

  • true but forgine help wasnt much we recived traing of some and supplies the real fighting was the contenatal army and the small millitias a huge part was americans were better marksmen we aimed the brits were trained to look away and hope to hit there target and also we were mt men we new the land

  • Good effort mate given the context. But it's true what others have said, it was america+holland+spain+france against the UK. And let's not forget the real losers were the blacks and native americans who suffered terribly worse under the new republican regime. freedom indeed...

  • Great... American kids get an A grade for preaching biased history. Read some British accounts, journals, diaries... start with Richard Holmes.

  • i have read some british acounts journals and daries, have you read "Bloody Ban" Tarleton's (Banastre Tarleton)?

  • this is a biased discription of the north american war.washington had nine engagements with British forces he lost 3 withdrew on 3 and won 3.this minor irratation of a war was lost from the outset because of france ,holland and spain coming on the side of these traitors.

  • I know. This is very biased, but I'm an American, and this is how they teach in American middle schools. If I want a good grade, I have to go by what the American textbook says. The American Revolution never would have succeeded without foreign help, but we American middle school students are supposed to believe it was because of valor, or something like that.

  • Sorry. ThePlasticPlane is my new account. I forgot to mention that in my post.

  • Don't be intimidated or apologetic by the post of people who despise the U.S and are biased by it.The short facts are we won they lost and the victor writes the history the loser complains about it.With all the British conquest throughout history they just might have embelished on a bit of history don't you think. Some long for the days of the empire and would lord over you again if they could. They assume the only history that is factual comes from an English history book. Pompous asses!

  • Gray707:

Are you still sore about this?

Didn't it happen over two centuries ago?

What's the point of bitching about something that's long gone?

  • That "minor irritation" cost the British government 80 million pounds and thousands dead, plus the loss of a large collection of colonies.

Get your history straight. Holland supported America very late in the war. Spain did not have an alliance with America, but it did sign an Alliance with France. France was the only real power to come to their aid.

And what about the 20,000 German Hessian troops Britain used against the colonists - were they part of the "minor irritation"?

  • 20,000 hessians are useless when they are caught in their pajamas, all with hangovers from the night before, by armed continentals ready to fight. thats how trenton played out. if the hessians were all ready to fight, it would have been a different story. hessians were known as some of the best mercenaries in europe at the time.

  • Agree, Trenton could have gone very differently.

sam13211 makes the point on the larger view of the war, since Hessians were used throughout the war and Americans paid a high price for that fact, especially at battles in and around NYC.

  • It's Greg!

  • easy on the mic

  • good job, what grade did you get?

  • An A+ I think
