Dr Soon (PhD) was the author of one of the most poorly-written papers on global temperatures ever. If it was an undergraduate paper, it would have been returned with an F. Its a sorry state of affairs that 'scientists' like Soon here are put in the spotlight as 'scientists who disagree with climate change'.
"Leaked internal documents from US thinktank (the Heartland Institute) expose funding and policy strategies against climate science" Guardian Feb 2012
It's all about the scientists who want to make money, right? That's what the global warming "hoax" is all about, right? So scientists can make more money.
Mr. Soon, how much do you earn a year? How much does the Heartland Institute or The Competitive Enterprise Institute pay you each year?
Mr. Hanson, how much do you earn a year? How much does NASA or NOAA pay you each year?
This institute has been exposed. Moeny for opinion the same way as it denied smoking causes cancer. Check out Climate Change Misconceptions, Part 1 and 2. The cooling is based on 1998 onwards, this video exposes that as cherry picking. 1998 was one of the warming years on record. Try 1900 onwards and see the real story. Check out the ocean temperature and ice thickness data and you will feel sick that an organisation like this can make it a political argument.
Willie Soon, one of the scientific figures who claimed to be skeptical about climate change, has admitted to being paid more than $1 million in the past decade by major U.S. oil and coal companies. June 29, 2011
Climate sceptic Willie Soon received $1m from oil companies -- this prominent opponent of climate change was funded by ExxonMobil, among others... You are entitled to your opinion (especially if paid so well for it), but not your own facts... guardian.co.uk/environment/2011/jun/28/climate-change-sceptic-willie-soon
@umilmi81 Water vapor is a SECONDARY GHG which means its concentration in the atmosphere cannot increase or decrease unless the temperature changes first (look up the equation that determines humidity levels)
Thus H20 can only magnify changes in the other PRIMARY GHGs.
While CH4 is a more effective GHG than CO2 there is very much less of it and it decays quite quickly in the atmosphere into, guess what? CO2.

There maybe only 400 ppm of CO2 but it is the primary GHG the other atmospherics gases - N2, O2, Ar, etc are not GHGs
drkstrong 9 months ago
@drkstrong Water vapor is the primary GHG followed by methane. CO2 is a distant 3rd.
