He did! In Yokohama, he negotiated the qualification stage and won the round 1. Unfortunately he was defeated by Ovtcharov in the round 2, although he got 2 games from the German.

In this video, the 1st match is junior class semi-final of All Japan Championship and he lost to Kenta Matsudaira. The next 3 matches are round 4, 5, and 6 of All Japan (senior), respectively. He won against Takanori Shimoyama, Ryuzo Kubota and lost to Kaii Yoshida.

If you mean the player in the 2nd match, he is Takanori Shimoyama. He won the Japanese college championship in 2005 and 2006.
