  • great!!!!

  • Is that a modified L-5? Gibson Factory Frets or re fretted? What frets? Very nice chord /line control.

  • sounds great man, how do I go about skype lessons? I'd love to take a few is possible.

  • I keep coming back to this. It is, well, divine.

  • Just for the record, Pete's been playing for "slightly" longer than 6 months (at least 9 or 10). Those of us who live in NYC have had the great fortune of seeing him perform Sunday nights at La Lanterna for many years. It's a show that you never want to miss.

  • I thought I was player literate but this is the first time I have heard you. My jaw is is now permanently on the floor. What beautiful voicings. Different than Tuck and totally recomposing the song. Outstanding.

  • what year and model Gibson is that? Love the harmony.

  • LUSH....SIMPLY LUSH!!!!...great tone as well....

  • dramatic playing.

    nice cover!!

  • So beautiful... Real MASTER!

  • Absolutely awesome. I just started guitar a month ago........I see i have a long road ahead!

  • @jeremiah3754- Okay so I've been playing 6 months, but you can do it! lol! Thanks Jeremiah...:) Enjoy the ride, my friend, and when you get further down the road, contact me for skype lessons! Thanks!

  • @petermazzajazzguitar You've been playing 6 months? Don't take this the wrong way, but I want to rip out your beating heart and shove it down your over-achieving throat.

  • @zemi2000 Grazie!!!

  • Outstanding, thanks

  • This is amazing, what did you study to build a chord vocabulary like that?

  • @Ajpforman -Hey man, the answer to that question is in an interview in Just Jazz Guitar this month. Take a look. Happy practicing! and thanks...:)

  • my dream guitar!!!

    Too bad I play Left-handed :(

  • Great arengment. you got a realy clear sound, keep the great work.

  • sweet!

  • Dear Rich, Ron and all other you tube buddies,

Thanks so much for listening and wonderful support. Sorry I've been delinquent in returning these kind notes, I've had my nose in the strings and have been away from the lap top. I have new vids on the way, and hope life and the strings are treating you well! Here's to beautiful music! Thanks again!

  • This is beautiful. One of my favorite songs. Not only did you do it justice, your interpretation was refreshing, captivating and heartfelt. Thank you and I wish you many success in the future.

    RiCH

  • Peter,

Absolutely wonderful work. I play a chord solo to this number but it is NOTHING like this masterpiece.

    Big Ron

  • Peter,

Great playing and arrangement. I was trying to learn some of the unusual voicings last night. You didn't by chance finish the tab or notation for this did you? Wonderful chord voicings.

  • I could listen just to the moving bass line and be impressed!

  • BRAVO Peter!

    Very cool arrangement!

  • i would appreciate it so much if u made a tab, sheet music or a video on how to play the beginning. Any ones of those would make me soo happy cause its a great version of the song :)

  • What type of Gibson is that?

  • @tennsoccerdr I was wondering to so I searched the comments on all his videos. It is a;

    Gibson Super 5

which is "basically" a Gibson L-5 with a Gibson Super 400 neck.

    also spelled "Gibson Super V"

  • Awesome arrangement !!

is that classified as a jazz guitar? Coz i normally see fingerstyle on acoustic guitar only. Really enjoyable watching you playing btw =]

  • WoW ...Wonderful interpretation:-))) !!!

  • Peter awesome. Awesome.

  • I've transcribed the arrangement, I just love it so much!

Ingenious way of making those slash and ninth-eleventh chords fit into those old, familiar and beautiful harmonies.

  • You have inspired me. Good Job! BTW are you transcribing this? I want to learn it really bad.

  • Peter.....this is simply stunning! I'm mesmerized.

Is there ever a chance of tab for that arrangenment?

I'd go to a desert island for a few years to learn it.

  • @tipp55 - Hey Tipp! thanks SO much! It's yet to be transcribed BUT it will be. I've been in the process of recording new vids so please keep your eyes and ears open...:) Sending you the best!

  • Peter you really hit the meter!!! Absolutely wonderful movements!...and that guitar maan I'm jealous!!! :)

  • @tripolisz Hey Trip! thanks SO much bro! more on the way (so hang on to your seat...:)) Your playing sounds lyrical and creative. PLEASE stay in touch :) do you get to NYC?

  • Thanks again, guys! awesome!

  • Wonderful voicings and a pro style! Peter you are above the meter with this one! Love it ! Respect!!!!

  • I've been looking at the Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor II, the Epiphone Wildkat, the Epiphone Limited Edition Riviera P93, the Epiphone Dot, and some of the Ibanez Artcore models, though I like the looks of the Epiphones more...I've never played any of them, though.

I have small hands, if that helps (about 6in. from the base of my palm to the tip of my middle finger), but they are fairly flexible.

Sorry to be taking over this comment thread...

  • I'm willing to spend about $500-$600 on a guitar, and wouldn't like to go over $200 for an amp...

  • It's up there in the top 10 most inspiring things I've ever seen in my life...:-)

A beautiful Gibson too, I might add.

Just a question, I'm more of a beginner when it comes to guitar (a little over 6 months experience) and I'm thinking of switching to jazz, but I currently only own an acoustic...do I need new equipment? What do you think? Will it make that much of a difference? And what do you recommend as far as "beginner/practice" stuff?

  • ...speechless. Thanks.

  • Gorgeous playing and a lovely arrangement played as though you are living every note. Thank you for a masterful performance quality.

Great sounding and looking guitar...what model...L5?

  • @jazzman3071 - Thanks so much, my friend....It's a Gibson Super V (L5 body/super 400 neck/head). Just shot a new batch of vids w a buddy of mine that we'll post soon. • Hey Mr. Groove,

thank you for this high praise. Will honor your advice/suggestion....please keep listening.

Govan is a GREAT guitarist for sure...Gilbert is an awesome organic musician who picks his butt off. I'd like to hear Paul Gilbert play Coltrane lines. THAT would be interesting!
