Just for the record, Pete's been playing for "slightly" longer than 6 months (at least 9 or 10). Those of us who live in NYC have had the great fortune of seeing him perform Sunday nights at La Lanterna for many years. It's a show that you never want to miss.
I thought I was player literate but this is the first time I have heard you. My jaw is is now permanently on the floor. What beautiful voicings. Different than Tuck and totally recomposing the song. Outstanding.
@jeremiah3754- Okay so I've been playing 6 months, but you can do it! lol! Thanks Jeremiah...:) Enjoy the ride, my friend, and when you get further down the road, contact me for skype lessons! Thanks!
@petermazzajazzguitar You've been playing 6 months? Don't take this the wrong way, but I want to rip out your beating heart and shove it down your over-achieving throat.
Vorrei dissentire con Zemi 2000....io...per meriti di età....Tal Farlow lo ho ascoltato dal vivo....e anche no, ma la tecnica del Maestro Mazza è di un altro pianeta....Tal era MOLTO più sporco.......

Thanks so much for listening and wonderful support. Sorry I've been delinquent in returning these kind notes, I've had my nose in the strings and have been away from the lap top. I have new vids on the way, and hope life and the strings are treating you well! Here's to beautiful music! Thanks again!
This is beautiful. One of my favorite songs. Not only did you do it justice, your interpretation was refreshing, captivating and heartfelt. Thank you and I wish you many success in the future.
Great playing and arrangement. I was trying to learn some of the unusual voicings last night. You didn't by chance finish the tab or notation for this did you? Wonderful chord voicings.
i would appreciate it so much if u made a tab, sheet music or a video on how to play the beginning. Any ones of those would make me soo happy cause its a great version of the song :)
@tipp55 - Hey Tipp! thanks SO much! It's yet to be transcribed BUT it will be. I've been in the process of recording new vids so please keep your eyes and ears open...:) Sending you the best!
@tripolisz Hey Trip! thanks SO much bro! more on the way (so hang on to your seat...:)) Your playing sounds lyrical and creative. PLEASE stay in touch :) do you get to NYC?
I've been looking at the Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor II, the Epiphone Wildkat, the Epiphone Limited Edition Riviera P93, the Epiphone Dot, and some of the Ibanez Artcore models, though I like the looks of the Epiphones more...I've never played any of them, though.
I have small hands, if that helps (about 6in. from the base of my palm to the tip of my middle finger), but they are fairly flexible.
It's up there in the top 10 most inspiring things I've ever seen in my life...:-)
A beautiful Gibson too, I might add.
Just a question, I'm more of a beginner when it comes to guitar (a little over 6 months experience) and I'm thinking of switching to jazz, but I currently only own an acoustic...do I need new equipment? What do you think? Will it make that much of a difference? And what do you recommend as far as "beginner/practice" stuff?
@jazzman3071 - Thanks so much, my friend....It's a Gibson Super V (L5 body/super 400 neck/head). Just shot a new batch of vids w a buddy of mine that we'll post soon. Please stay in touch and feel free to share them w others. This stuff IS my life, so I'm thrilled you feel/hear it in the music. Blessings, man...be well! will stop by your page...
who is this darn Joe Pass guy people keep saying is better than me??? LOL
but seriously...thanks dude! Love to ALL playing jazz guitar who do so in the spirit of knowing it's history and making their own beautiful and personal music. I'm always happy to share what I do with you and enjoy hearing you...thanks for listening
HEy peter, thanks for your message, its great to hear from you! Yea I'd love it if you checked out my stuff, I actually have a version of somewhere over the rainbow for jazz guitar and a couple of other standards!
thank you for this high praise. Will honor your advice/suggestion....please keep listening.
Govan is a GREAT guitarist for sure...Gilbert is an awesome organic musician who picks his butt off. I'd like to hear Paul Gilbert play Coltrane lines. THAT would be interesting!
Very well done! If I may be so bold as to suggest that you add your Rm 545 song (? correct Julliard room number) because it would show your range of interests and talents. Cheers -
Hey guys, thanks again for listening and these comments. JC, no transcription as of yet, but so you know (if you don't already) I DO teach in NYC. Otherwise, I'll keep posting footage so you can enjoy picking up some ideas if not a whole arrangement by watching/listening...all the best! PM

@tennsoccerdr I was wondering to so I searched the comments on all his videos. It is a;
Gibson Super 5
which is "basically" a Gibson L-5 with a Gibson Super 400 neck.
also spelled "Gibson Super V"

is that classified as a jazz guitar? Coz i normally see fingerstyle on acoustic guitar only. Really enjoyable watching you playing btw =]
