Agree that it's so disturbing how eager people are to assume guilt because someone isn't howling or wailing at a funeral. I don't blame her for texting either-- she obviously wasn't close to her extended family and was probably getting support from friends. I have a terse relationship with some of my relatives and if my parents died, I would not be comfortable baring my grief to them and would probably leave a matter of fact message as well. Four parts to go, but so far, she's not guilty to me.

regardless of whether she did it or not, i hate when people assume that because someone is unemotional, they are guilty. i don't cry in front of other people, and it can take days to actually realize what has happened.

I don't like how they always judge people based solely on their reactions to a traumatic event. When my dad died when I was 18, I didn't cry for like a week, and I was joking around at the memorial service we had. It's not because I wasn't grieving, it's because I was so unbelievably devastated that I had trouble internalizing what had happened, and because everyone else in my family fell apart. Everyone reacts differently to tragedy and it's sad these people jumped on their own relative.

@flameisbrighter Such a good point. I'm so sorry for your loss... I am a cryer, but my brother isn't. We've lost a couple family members and I know how hard it hurt him, but not everybody breaks down. The mind has a lot of defense mechanisms.

Hollywood has brainwashed both the public and law enforcement into believing that surviving family members must have tears flowing forever after the death of a loved one. At the funerals I've been to there wasn't much crying. In fact, it is normal for a funeral to be almost a party atmosphere, given that people who haven't seen each other in a while are suddenly thrown together.

The person who's closest to the victims and claims to love them the most immediately gets an imaginary X over their head as suspect. I've been conditioned by this show to assume that the killers are either the kids or the spouses
