Only reason he did it was because his parents could afford to send him, he didnt deserve to climb Everest. There are guys who save up their hole lives, gaining mountaineering experience and the money to fund it and many still cant afford it or dont make it. Makes me angry that he was basically carried to the top and now takes the credit. Hopefully when I attempt it I will deserve to stand at the roof of the world, not because my parents could afford it.
@pikeflyfisherman True that my friend. Also putting Everest into consideration, we don't want to have 13 yr olds climbing this respected mountains. It takes the glory away from people who have been preparing half their lifetime to attempt such a thing. Sure if this kid can do it, good for him, but I'd like to see some age restrictions put on mountains.
@ashatbracks The kid wanted to do it fair enough, but he had the dream and now thats it over. He hardly had the chance to live that dream. I have since watched other videos and saw an ABC documentary that changed my view on him slightly but even still, he shouldnt be able to on and climb it just because his parents can pay him. They did climb the harder side from Tibet so the lad pulled his weight to climb it, but thats not the point. Glad to see you share my views !
Am i the only one who thinks this is badass? Sure he had his parents pay for the whole thing and Everest isn't the hardest mountain to climb and its been done thousands of times, but now a days the average thirteen y/o wont even get of the couch long enough to take out the trash, and thinks having multiple killing sprees in HALO is an accomplishment. A 13 y/o tackling Everest is Badass. And to all the fools out there who say climbing Everest is easy you have no idea what you are talking about
@keith00032 If my parents had enough money, I'm pretty sure I would've gone up there when I was 6yrs old. If you're lucky enough to have parents who are into adventure and have the sort of money, then they can do it. Its not like this kid was a total couch potato. This kid was bought into adventure by his parents and that's what made him do it. You cannot compare him with the rest of the world, where people are all different.
Why is everyone saying its no big deal since he climbed up the easy way, there is no bloody way up everest. Its fricken 29,000 feet up. the dude is 13 and climbed everest, when you were thirteen, what was the biggest thing you climbed? think about that
@keith00032 I'm pretty sure if other 13yr olds had the money to support the climb, they'd already be doing it. In case if you didn't know, the youngest was actually a Nepali sherpa girl at 9yrs old but it was un-official. So really, its all about publicity for this guy.
if you get caught with weed it could ruin your life...
if you spank your kid, or drink with your 17 year old daughter, cps might take them away ...
but at 13 you can risk your live climbing the most dangerous mountain and not have to worry about child endangerment charges or cps coming to take your kid away!
@RevolutionNewz Child endangerment would be a good argument if only there wasnt one problem with it. Your wrong. Jordan was never taken into a situation in which he along with my brother Paul could not handle. Its so mind boggleing that people can make comments such as yours with no solid facts and knowledge of what they say. I would put my life in Jordans and pauls and Karens hands way before anyone else. They are highly trained. Wave your flag to parents that let kids bike with no helmet
percentage wise I am correct... how many have climbed everest? how many have died?
this isn't personal and in my opinion they should be able to climb everest... my point is that parents lose their kids to the hands of the US govt for simply slapping their kid in the face, etc...
A kid on Disney climbed all the summits?
