  • Well to each there own, not mine unfortunatley but what do I know

  • 5 of her original songs became the national anthem for 14 different Arab countries, her romantic songs are played in every wedding, her religious songs are the only ones allowed of female singers in Saudi, and Israelis admit that she is one of their favorite singers. Her funeral had over 5 million morners

  • I have this concert on CD. The sound of the audience going wild is part of what makes it such a great recording. It's fantastic to actually see them.

  • @ninquerinquar can't you put it youtube, please?

  • i think she is very boring ,,maybe she's yes have strong voice ,,but really

boring songs /boring look / boring voice / boring music ...etc

i really not trying to be disrespectful ,,but i don't get it

  • @hanane1990

Think of it like coffee - its an acquired taste.

  • @hanane1990 so why you listen to her bumpkin!

  • @ummfaizal

i don't @ all ,, this is probabley the only um kalthom video i watched on youtube

i wanted to hear how her voice is

  • perfect! salam men TurK (*

  • Das ist Oum kaltoum ... das ist das Wunder des 20 Jahrhundert im Singen ...das ist Oriental-Planette ... keine Mensch im Leben wird ihr niveau am Singen erreichen

  • PERFECT

  • to CF77777 ...she is the best ever , did you know that the mic had to be a 3/4 of meter far away from her mouth because if she is closer to the mic .... the speakers will expold and in 60's mices never been that advanced

she got about 30 songs that best words , best music

her voice is just a music by it self

the funny thing that all arabs and isrealy , iranian , turkish and greek , listen to her at that time, every first thruthday of each month for years

  • this womans voice is beautiful, even if I can't speak her language, her voice speaks to my heart

  • she has the stronger voice you can ever hear .... beside her intelligence & her great culture & personality

& what really makes her very special ..... she knows how to control her voice according to melody & words ...

she has the most perfect performance that you can always enjoying even if you can't understand the words but as you said ..... she always talking to hearts not only ears ...... she speaks a global language that anyone can understand & feel

    I ADORE YOU SOMA

  • who is to say what music is better or worse? It is a matter of personal opinion, it's very subjective =)

  • @bodejap Yeah... Britney Spears, Bruce Springteen, Nirvana... hehehehehehehe... sure is much better...

  • @albertoaranda Britney Spears sucks. She's not even in the same league as this.

  • @xxMrFablexx im ok with that... my comment was a answer of another guy comparing usa music with this masterpiece...

  • @bodejap you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but I am an American and I feel Oum Kalthoum is better than any American artist, in fact better than any other artist, period. For me, she is and always will be the greatest. My ears hadn't heard music until they heard her voice.

  • @tortiecatlove

    i agree with you

i like maria callas,, edith piaf ,, dalida many & many ... but Oum kulthuom still the best all over the time

  • @bodejap Troll.

  • Beautiful

  • hahahahah haiwana XD

  • the nightigale of misra(egypt).

  • I have never heard any Egyptian women express her feelings of love in such a way let alone in a song where other women in audience relate to her strongly. Very good.

  • cited from (Wikipedia Encyclopedia) :

Um Kulthum had a contralto vocal range.she can sing as low as the 2nd octave, and the ability to sing as high as 9th octaves at her vocal peak. Her remarkable ability to produce 14,000 vibrations/second with her vocal cords, unparalleled vocal strength (no commercial mic for singing can withstand its strength forcing her to stand at 1-2meter radius away, her voice's unique breathtaking beauty over convention made her the most incomparable voice of all times

  • I grew up with her... lolz my grandma from iraq (jewish though) every friday night i was forced to listen to this instead of pop music... learned to belly dance to this 2 ;) it is an aquired taste though because now that i listen to her it is not as bad as i remember

  • روووووووووووووووووعة

  • lizzie55love we get you now im startin to see you everywhere badmouthing Om Kulthum, you may not like her but thats not reason to go about every video posting negative things. Why do you keep searching for her videos if all you're going to do is write spiteful crap? You know she is loved by a vast following of fans, internationally You're not going to change any opinions with your negativity so your efforts are pointless. If you dont like her then just fuck off and stop searching for her videos.

  • 'Give me my freedom set my hands free, for I have giving you everything & withheld nothing' Al Atlal/The Ruins

  • lizzie55love every kulthum song i go to i see u saying stupid things, ruining our enjoyment, i am sick of u, u should be banned not only from the youtube but the internet, and maybe u should be placed in a prison amongst posionous snakes for the rest of ur life.

  • allah allah 3al fann ..

  • ...

  • for Arabiansoltan

    This song is Al-Atlal.

One of Omm-Kalthoum most famous songs.

  • I've saw a little clip of baed annak and enta omry of this big concert in Tinisia (with the two girls getting mad...) and this is great great concert! thank you.

  • google "infomideast umm kulthum", then go to songs and search for "El-Atlal" -> song no 15 i think, she sings this part at 23:58 !

  • "Umm Kulthum - A voice like Egypt" should be purchaseable via Amazon and such, I think. It is a documentary made after this publication:

Danielson, V.L., The voice of Egypt. Umm Kulthūm, Arabic song, and Egyptian society in the twentieth century, Cairo, 1997

  • please what is name of this song, i love it

  • the name is (الاطلال)and yes it is beautfull.i can give you the site name where you can watch all the it, but when she is older.let me know if u want the site name.i am just not sure if i can tape the name here . maybe i can send it to you by email just let me know ,

  • I totally agree, I need to find it too, please help us!

  • infomideast !!! you can find this part - i think its song no 15 ! :)

  • Also, where could I find the entire performance from which this clip is taken?

  • Yo, it would be awesome if you would post the entire documentary. Please.

    masalama

  • amazing ty

  • She's a great intepreter. Her voice and face have great expressivity and she seems to inhabit the songs as few singers can. Her voice also flows very well, without no effort.

  • modernisation he calls it.i should respect everything? really bring your evidence to support what you say.Should i respect evil and immorality.you are a truly lost individual.May Allah guide you and us all

  • Actually I am talking to JayJay. maybe I clicked the wrong button.

  • If anyone doesn't understand Islam it is you Axatoramus. And if anyone have an obsessive sickness, it is non other than you. You have no right whatsoever to come here and insult the greatness of Um Kalthum. Absolutely none. That is so rude.

  • wake up and stop imitating the ignorant people of old.Return to Islam if you want success in this world and the Akhira.

  • At least show some respect to Um Kalthoum. Ok if you don't feel the power of her beautiful voice, you wouldn't even see this clip. So find out who you are first.

  • respect? my respect is reserved for those who observe the commands of God.However i did not say anything directly aimed at this individual.i do not know what her heart contained only God has that Knowledge. My point was a general one! My reason for watching this clip was legitimate and based on resarch regaring a story.peace

  • It is absolutely sickening that you would target سيدة الغناء النظيف العالي and kind of put her down. Ok, I am sensing that you're one of those salafiya radicals who think they are the only ones who are right and use Islam the way the like. Um Kalthoum was a great Muslim woman. She made the Hajj that Allah said every Muslim should. She read the holy quran every night. You may find someone else to put down besides her. Thank you

  • as for calling me a salafiyah radical is that meant to be an insult? If trying to adhere to my religion as it was revealed is radical then so be it.and it is absolutely sickening that you would use the term salafiyah in a derogatory manner when it is a reference to the pious predecessors who did more good than you or i have.Thankyou.

  • I am a proud Muslim and I admire Um Kalthum. I have nothing against her. I don't listen to the radical scholars you listen to who teach you that Singing is Haram in Islam. Maybe you need to review your understanding of Islam. All I'm saying is that you've a close mind about others and you think that Muslims are only those who have beards and wear Saudi dress. Sorry you feel invy against Kalthum. Look at Saudi scholars and things they do. Do have something to say about them instead of Um Kalthum?

  • And you called Um Kalthoum "Ignorant" What? Are you kidding me? You know; I don't know who you are but you seem to me to be one of those raised by unfortunate extremists who see Islam upside down. I mean, so who is has knowledge? You, when you're talking like that. It is absolutely disgrace. None Muslims would never insult a passed away person let alone Um Kalthoum.

  • its like talking to a brick wall.peace

  • Well you can find your easy way out of this but just all I am asking is that you give some respect to those who passed away particularly if you're watching their clips. I don't care if you are doing a research or what have you, just don't write that kind of comment. If you're calling people to obey Allah, do it at the right place at the right time.

    Thank you

  • the best part of the best song ever!!!!!!!! thank you Enkil60 thank you!!

  • its ámazing song.. i hear it 10 times a day...
