Celtic shamanism? Shamanic teacher? Is it possible--just possible--that this dude is self-deluded? I know authentic elders, medicine men, people like that. People who when they pray stuff happens. This guy seems nice but it's, forgive me, it's like he's playing at something he doesn't really understand. Anyone have the same feeling?
@carloscarlos13 I understand what you mean. I think he laughed sarcastically because shamanism is a really misunderstood religion/way if life. Society does not look highly on anything outside of Judeo-Christianity (complete shame) - i.e. humans fear what we don't know.
@carloscarlos13 yeah, a bit deluded maybe, but at least he doesnt try to mimic native americans, he actually goes looking for his own roots and tries to find it there
@carloscarlos13 I agree with you he definitely seems like he's talking about something he doesn't understand. Pretty sad to that he's taking advantage of people not to mention he could seriously harm someone accidentally by playing around with powers that he should not be dealing with.
Curious. Do shamanic practictioners actually care for the well being of Indigenious peoples whom they are inspire by or do they only care about their shamanic practice???
I encourage others to check out Survival International or Cultural Survival over the net.
I hope this isnt about money or making profits of some sort.
Really shame to do that with any religion.

If this is the same Tom Cowan who wrote "Fire in the Head", his insightful exploration of Shanism and teh CELTIC spirtit are truly illuminating.
Wow, very impressed with this book.

I'm reading your book, "Shamanism as a Spiritual Practice for Daily Life". Even the preface was amazing.
