Billie Thomas was THE ONLY one to play Buckwheat. Early on, it was still Billie Thomas, but they had him gender reversed or gender neutral with that caftan-looking cloak he used to wear. If you study the films, you can tell it's him. Later on, it was still Billie Thomas, but clearly playing Buckwheat. Stymie's younger brother, Bobbie Beard played a character named Cotton, who was in a few episodes. Even Stymie was named differently early on. Yeah, I studied the films.
